Jan 5-10 Me, Myself & I - Perfectly Happy On Our Own!

I'm here! I've got to be in New Mexico this weekend. My brother is being promoted to Colonel (USAF)! Pretty big deal around here. So I'll be posting again shortly after!

Thanks for reading everyone!

Wow! Congrats to him ...I hope the ceremony goes well and that you are all able to have some good family time too! Drive/fly safe and we'll catch up with you when you get back :)

Hi Anne

Hope you and your family had a great weekend in New Mexico and well done to your brother , not long till he will be Commander in Chief.

Paul

Ha! He says he's done at Colonel. (At least his wife and kids say he's done!)

I'll be back up with the trip report this week.

Anne-
I finally found you. I thought you would have the entire trip report completed by now!

Sunday, January 6, continued

Okey dokey.

According to TourGuideMike, Animal Kingdom was a green park today and so is Epcot. So far so good. Although, I’m still dealing with the end of the holiday crowds being that it’s Sunday I think.

I had left Animal Kingdom earlier than I had planned, simply because I had covered pretty much everything I wanted to. I only skipped the Safari—but that’s more fun with my kids anyway… and I’ve seen Festival of the Lion King so many times I’ve practically got it memorized. Again, more fun with my kids. AK closed at 5pm but I left at 3:30. No exiting crowds to worry about.

At 4:20, I’m heading for the bus stop at Pop to go to Epcot for the evening. I’m looking forward to meeting up with other Dis’ers at the Cantina for Illuminations. Something I have never done before. I never felt like I wanted to take time away from my family for any internet meets and my last solo trip I didn’t have the desire to meet up with anyone. Now, as I’m standing in line for the Epcot bus, some slob (yes, I’m judgemental) walks up. He really was a slob... baggy pants, dirty tshirt, a little stinky. He situates himself on the street side of the bar for the bus line. He lights up a cigarette very near me. I don’t necessarily care if someone smokes, but I’m pretty sure that the bus line is not the place. He goes on about how he’s meeting his girlfriend at Epcot. Hmmm. He smokes only half of the darned thing and flicks it, still lit, into the drive. I’m sorry, but it’s folks like this guy that give smokers a bad rap. At 4:30, the bus pulls up and I’m outta there.

2008016and7153.jpg

At 4:43, I’m off the Epcot bus. My intention is to go directly to France, do not pass go, get your crème brulee and then off to American Adventure. Even the best laid plans can be waylayed by Spaceship Earth. It was open. Soft opening, actually. There have been some really mixed reviews about the refurbishment so I just had to jump in while I had the chance. Personally, I like it. Many complained about the new narrator, I didn’t have a problem with her but I guess a man’s voice lent a little more weight to the subject before. The narration itself was much more focused on the story of communication. The storyline flowed much better than before and made a lot more sense. I asked my kids what they thought Spaceship Earth was about one time and they couldn’t tell me. I think now they’ll get it. The Egyptian guy had very smooth movement and I’m glad they got rid of that silly cartoon chariot. I didn’t like the little newspaper kid facing the other way… maybe his mouth isn’t animated or something and they just turned him around. I don’t know. All the scenes were wonderful and I loved the new ones. They packed more into the story with more scenes and less fluffy stuff at the end. The touch screen ending was fun until I saw my picture on the little cartoon character. I was creeped out by that, but I think the kids will like it. I didn’t take any pictures in SE, I just enjoyed the ride.

At 5:11pm, I’m getting out of Spaceship Earth. I wasn’t interested in the post show stuff, that will be something for the family to do next trip. I headed up toward World Showcase. I was getting a little more hungry than crème brulee would satisfy and I couldn’t wait until 8:00 to eat at the Cantina. I couldn’t help it. The fish and chips were calling me. My little UK radar took me right there. I wasn’t sure I’d get another chance to have my favorite meal at Epcot, so I gave in. I got my meal of two fish planks and a slew of chips (french fries) and took it down to the lakeside to eat on a bench.

Birds. Everywhere. They loved me. For every french fry I ate, they’d get a little bite too. These guys almost carried me away… literally. Nevertheless, it was wonderful sitting there by the water drenching my fish in malt vinegar and double dipping my fries in ketchup. I ate pretty slowly and just relaxed. This is one of the best things about being on my own here. No rush, great food, darn birds. Two out of three ain’t bad.

5:40p. At first, I was the only one at the lakeside eating, two-by-two others showed up. It got a little crowded for my serenity so I finished up and headed toward France’s Pattiserie. Ah, crème brulee. Yippee! At first, someone had scooped up the last two in the case and there was none on the opposite side.

2008016and7157.jpg

No way. I may be compelled to make a scene here. Sensing my distress, a whole new tray shows up just in time. I really wanted to sit and savor my dessert, but I needed to make the 6pm showing of American Adventure. You know, this show goes down for rehab tomorrow. Ever since I took the Backstage Magic tour on my last solo trip, I have a healthy respect for this presentation and everything that went into making it. It’s unbelievable what goes on backstage and under the seats. I ate my dessert on the way to the U.S. pavilion. I barely made the 6pm show. I sat front and center. The theatre was only about 1/4 full, such a shame. I took pictures during the show, trying to shield my horribly bright screen those behind me. So essentially, I’m taking the photos blind because I don’t have a viewfinder on my little point-and-shoot. So out of the 40 or so photos I took, I got maybe 3 or 4 decent ones.

2008016and7188.jpg

At 6:37, I was done with American Adventure and wandered over to see the exhibits there. Now this was cool. I love historical artifacts. Lincoln’s hat and all that. By this time, my camera battery crapped out and I changed that. When I had seen enough, I walked over to Mexico and scoped out the tables at the Cantina de san Angel. Wow, 7:00 and there are already people waiting for Illuminations. I was surprised. There are really only 3 or so tables that are the best viewing spots. I sat on the bench and waited for one to open up. The other Disers would be showing up from 7:30 on.

As I was sitting on the bench, one Diser approached me, having recognized me from my photo online. I hadn’t met her online and didn’t expect her, but hey, we’re one big happy family. I never did find out if she had a screen name, so we’ll just call her ‘newfriend’. So she helped me stake out a temporary table until the others arrived. One by one the others arrived. We never did find a better table. We weren’t even on the railing. Let’s see, we had Tatania, Straughn, sailor’s wife, springandmac, our new friend and me. Some went to get margaritas down the way a bit, Straughn had a bite to eat at the Cantina and Tatania went to scam some recipes at the restaurant for the recipe board. The six of us crammed ourselves into a table for four and yakked until Illuminations began. Newfriend left early.

2008016and7191.jpg

I won’t sit at the Cantina for Illuminations again. Unless you have one of the 3 tables on the rail, you’re screwed. We lowered the umbrellas so everyone could see the sky better and a CM came to tell us we couldn’t do that. Those things were a pain to get back up, I’ll tell you. So we had a very obstructed view of the whole thing. However, we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Afterwards sailor’s wife and I had plans to hit MK EMH. The others went their own ways, but we all exited through the International Gateway to get out. We walked slowly and enjoyed the atmosphere the whole way. So much better than trying to get down to Future World.

At 10:09, we were in line at the Magic Kingdom. I was surprised there were so many people waiting to get in for the last hour of EMH. Granted, TGM gives MK a big ‘ole stop sign for today… but sometimes you gotta buck the system. I must tell you though, I swear by his advice. When you go against it, just prepare yourself. We headed toward Tomorrowland since sailor’s wife had fastpasses for Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad from later in the day. The standby for SM was just too long and even the fastpass line was long (as far as we could tell). So we went on toward Big Thunder via Fantasyland. She went on to Big Thunder and I stayed in Fantasyland to see what I could do there. I love Magic Kingdom at night, even if I don’t ride a thing. It’s just has an electric feel.

At 10:27 Peter Pan standby was 40 minutes and Pooh was just too long so I opted for it’s a small world with no wait. Not my first choice but it’s a classic. Every time I go through this thing I think of Imagineers on drugs. There’s some really weird stuff in here. At 10:42, I’m done with iasw and headed to Pirates. Believe it or not, right before closing is always the best time to ride Pirates. I’ve never figured that one out. Sure enough, when I get there, it’s a walk-on. I love the refurb on this one and Captain Jack just makes it better. My favorite upgrade is the vision of Davy Jones at the beginning. So cool.

2008016and7195.jpg

At 10:59, I exit Pirates. The park closes at 11p. I took some last pictures of the Christmas décor on Main Street and saunter on out of the park.

2008016and7196.jpg

2008016and7200.jpg

When there’s no parade or fireworks right before closing, it’s much easier to get out of the park. At 11:40, I was on the bus back to Pop Century.

Unfortunately, I arrive back at Pop at 12:01 and the food court is closed. No fun snack for me tonight. In my room at 12:13, I got my clothes and packed my pockets for my full day tomorrow at Epcot again. I didn’t take time to transcribe any of my notes tonight… too late for me. I’m thinking I might even sleep in tomorrow. It’s Monday at Epcot, a definite green day and it wouldn’t kill me not to see Soarin’ as soon as I get there. Today I walked 14.28 miles. That’s 34,896 steps. Whew.

Yippee an update! :cheer2:

I have to admit I almost skipped the meet (I'm shy) but I'm so glad I didn't. It was such a pleasure to meet you and the other girls, it wasn't like meeting strangers at all. More like meeting long lost friends.

Every time I go through this thing I think of Imagineers on drugs.

LOL, I never thought of that! Do you think Disney employees were allowed anything stronger than alcohol, heehee?

Thanks for another great update and for the posting the pic of us. I love it and it brought back fun memories of that meeting. BTW, I got all 3 recipes from the Cantina - though had to write to WDW guest relations in the end. Check out our ever growing recipe thread of all the great recipes: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1575103

BTW, Your pics are all so good!

Thanks! I'm a little slow in getting the next installment up. It's written, I just have to add pictures. Maybe tomorrow...

I have been kicking around the idea of going to Disney solo until I met my boyfriend. I thought it was unheard of and couldn't bear to bring up the idea to my friends or parents. I am SO glad to hear of so many women doing it. It looks like you had an incredible time and it would be SO nice to do things at MY pace.

I can't wait to see the rest of your installments!

Yay – I came back to an update!!!

I know what you mean about RL - mine has been crazy too!

Nice that you had a good AK day and were able to see everything you wanted to …and with time to spare even :D Bummer about slobby smoker guy. Glad you didn’t have to wait too long for the bus.

Thank you for the good description of Spaceship Earth! DW and DD11 made it in there but I never got the chance. I at least now have some idea of what it’s about and what was changed from the old version of it.

That’s funny about UK and those fish and chips calling you, but you made the right decision. After all, what is a trip by yourself if not a chance to do exactly what you want and be able to change your mind about things on the fly without someone else chiming in ;) Sitting there with the very attentive birds by the water sounds very peaceful and relaxing. And at least it didn’t start to get crowded until you were about finished :thumbsup2

Glad you got your crème brulee and a fresh one at that! I didn’t get a chance at checking out the World Showcase at all on our trip …we spent too much time at Future World and I ended up taking DD8 back to MGM on our “open” day. I’ll certainly have to check out the American Adventure when I do :-]

I’m glad you were able to make you DISmeet and cool that even more DISers showed up than you were expecting. Bummer about not having good seats for Illuminations, but it sounds like y’all had a good time despite it. Very brave heading to MK for EMH and against ole TGM ;) I followed his “stop sign” advice to the letter and I think it worked out pretty good.

Well it sounds like even though you bucked his system you made out OK, especially with walk-on on Pirates! Great shot of Davy Jones and yes, I think I like the revamped ride too. I really like that they have Barbosa on the pirate ship :D Nice Christmas shots …isn’t it cool being in the last bunch of people leaving the park? I remember getting on the train at Adventureland at DL around closing time and how much we enjoyed circling the nearly empty park :-]

I look forward to you next update ...I'm in the opposite boat, having my pictures done but still working on the story side of it ;)

Monday, January 7 2008

Yep, decided to sleep in a bit today. It felt wonderful. I had set the wakeup call to come in at 9am, but I actually woke up 20 minutes before that. I got myself ready and was at the bus stop by 9:23. I get ready very quickly in the mornings—short hair is a wonderful thing. This time, there was actually a bus waiting at the bus stop for Epcot. This was the first time I had to stand on a bus. I’d rather do that than wait another 15 minutes for the next one.

This bus driver was super nice. She was a very jovial black woman with an attitude. Since I was standing right on the yellow line, I was able to talk to her. She told me all about the Big Brother GPS system that follows all the busses. The laser counters they have installed at the bus door so gauge how many people enter the bus. She was lamenting over the fact that she wasn’t allowed to chat on the intercom anymore to the bus passengers. The spiel has taken over. She can only talk when there’s a problem. And there was this trip. Some guy was standing down in the secondary entrance and leaning against the door. Evidently an alarm goes off (annoying) and the signal will be sent to the main computer which tells the powers that be that her bus has probably been overloaded. Her intercom wasn’t working, so in my best mommy-yell, I told the guy to pull away from the door. I startled quite a few people and the bus fell silent. I politely said, “sorry, years of motherhood kicked in.” I’ve got very good lungs.

At 9:42, I’m through the turnstiles at my favorite park. As I pass by Spaceship Earth, it’s closed. It’s a bit chilly this morning but getting warmer now. I brought along my jacket for the evening so I dropped it in a locker. I guess I ended up with a large one, it looked about 14” wide, 18” tall and almost 2 feet deep, which I think is pretty big.

The Disney elves didn’t come out in force last night like I’d hoped. Christmas decorations were still up. The tree is still big as life between Future World and World Showcase. To be honest, I’m done with Christmas. I think four or so of the gateway lighting fixtures are down, but the rest are still up. I guess it takes awhile.

At 9:56, I slipped into the Land and got a fastpass for Soarin’. The return time is 11:12am. Not too bad. I saw people eating at Sunshine Seasons, but they were serving breakfast at the Asian Noodles station. I didn’t know they did this. It looked like a full hot breakfast plate. I don’t really do breakfast, but I was starving and actually wanted lunch food. Guess I’ll pass for now. I walked over to Living With the Land and walked on. I don’t know what it is about the ride that attracts me so much. Maybe the educational aspect, maybe the fact that I just don’t have any sort of green thumb myself. But I just find it fascinating.

I had planned to sign up for the Behind the Seeds tour, but decided I just didn’t feel like it. Besides, it’s one of the few tours that my kids can take with me—although I’ve heard it bores some kids. Mine like educational stuff though. So I passed on it this trip.

2008016and7233.jpg

2008016and7243.jpg

As I’m walking across the park toward Test Track, I run into the Jammitors. These guys bring me back to my high school / college days in the band. I was part of the flag corps and we worked very closely with the drumline doing some really crazy stuff. The Jammitors make me think of that time. They had Junior Jammitor Day, all the kids got a sticker when they were done.

2008016and7257.jpg

At 10:36, I got into the single rider line at Test Track. It pretty much bypasses all the preshow stuff as well as the preshow film, but by 10:38 I was in a car. I always love this ride. This time, I took a picture during my favorite part…

2008016and7272.jpg

Afterwards, I shuttled on through the post show. We’ll always stop and look around when I’ve got my family with me. They all love to get in all the cars. When it’s just me though, I’ve got better things to do! I’m heading over to the Land for my Soarin’ fastpass! The window wasn’t open yet, so I figured it was as good a time as any to grab some early lunch. Remember, I was starving earlier. So back into Sunshine Seasons for a turkey focaccia, crème brulee (what else?) and Diet Coke.

2008016and7280.jpg

I seem to remember multiple checkout lines the last time we were here which made buying food for 4 different people in 4 different places very inconvenient. Don’t know if I’m remembering correctly or not, but now there’s only one checkout line and there is a drink bar where you fill your own drinks. Unfortunately, it’s not an all-you-can-drink bar—you get to go through the pay line again if you want more. I got my goodies and scoped out a small table. One thing about eating by yourself, you hear all the conversations around you. There were two ladies’ at the next table trying to navigate their way through their day at Epcot. I told them I couldn’t help overhearing and that some of their plans would be better changed. They seemed genuinely appreciative. I gave them lots of suggestions. It’s fun to help people with my obsession.

On a side note, I’ve seen only one family with a Pal Mickey on this trip. Has his popularity waned so much that no one wants the poor guy anymore? I don’t even remember seeing him in any of the stores, although I really wasn’t looking for him either. I know there’s some new thing-a-ma-jig DS program being tested right now. I guess that will pretty much bury ole’ Pal Mickey.

At 11:29, I was all done with lunch and felt tons better. Got my fuel for the next few hours. I moved on to Soarin’. I don’t know what is so intriguing about this attraction, but I love it. It’s something just about any age can do. It’s horribly popular and probably will be for a long time. Those lines in the morning are a bear. If you don’t get a fastpass early, you’re pretty much up a creek unless you don’t mind waiting an hour or more. I mind. I fastpass. There was a kid next to me with him mom and they were evidently riding it for the first time. He wanted to know how it worked, so I told him how the seats would rise. During the film I made sure he knew when to sniff the air and what to watch for. I guess I helped. Sometimes you wonder if you’re being a know-it-all or just creepy. I’d be mortified if I came off creepy. I was in line at 11:30 and out of there by noon. Even the fastpass line was a little bit of a wait.

2008016and7281.jpg

On the way to World Showcase, I stepped into the Imagination Pavilion. I only saw Journey Into Your Imagination once before the refurbishment and then once after (in which it stopped about 5 times and ruined it for me.) So I thought if the line wasn’t too long, I’d just check it out again. No problem there, no line whatsoever. You get a lot of CM attention when you’re the only one in the place. Unfortunately, I was no more impressed with it than I had been on any previous trips. It’s no a do-over in the future unless my kids just HAVE to do it. On the other hand, the Imageworks stuff at the end is fun. Being on my own, though, I skipped it. I just love that kind of stuff with my kids. So at 12:14pm, I was done with the Imagination Pavilion and on my way to World Showcase. Canada would be my first stop.

It took about 20 minutes or so to walk all the way up to Canada. At 12:37, I ran into Newfriend (from the Dismeet last night). She was waiting for her ADR at Le Cellier. Small world (no pun intended). We talked a minute or two and I went on in to see O Canada. There was a bit of a wait before the next show so I took some pictures. I had not seen Martin Short’s version of the film and I like it a lot. He makes it much more interesting and approachable. I’m glad they didn’t get rid of my favorite part where the Mounties circle around the theatre.

2008016and7303.jpg

2008016and7314.jpg

At 12:54pm, I was done in O Canada and went through the shops. I intended to get a patch from each country, but apparently there are no such things. I browsed until about 1:30. I moved onto France and looked at the shops there. Believe it or not, I passed on the crème brulee so that I could get some other snack on down the road. Blasphemous, I know. Server Amusant (I think that's who they are) was there balancing on his chairs so I stopped to watch a few minutes.

2008016and7341.jpg

For some reason, France just doesn’t hold all that much interest for me. I guess I’m just not a ‘French’ type of person (except for that crème brulee, mind you.) At 1:47, I moved on to Morocco. Mo Rockin’ wasn’t playing today (not even on the Times Guide) so I was a little bummed about that. But I did step into the little museum in Morocco that I had never noticed on earlier trips but had read about on the boards. Wonderful little place with outstanding stained glass windows and door.

2008016and7348.jpg

2008016and7354.jpg

The whole pavilion is unbelievable, the intricate craftsmanship. This one isn’t Disney Imagineers though, it’s actual Moroccan artisans, which makes it even more special.

As I’m leaving Morocco, it hits me. I had intended to do the Disney Visa photo op down in Innoventions today. It’s only from 1p to 4p and it was 2:15 right now. I’ve missed it on every trip before this either because it was just inconvenient, or I just forgot. It’s not good to miss anything that’s free in Disney World. So now, I needed to hoof it back to Future World. I decided to do something different—the Friendship Boat in the World Showcase lagoon. Slow, I know, but I’d never done it. Truthfully, I think that’s the only reason they’re there. They go pretty slow. Standing on the dock waiting for the next one was quite pleasant though. The weather was perfect, just a little breeze. I wasn’t cold (and that’s saying a lot). I got on the boat at 2:34 after a short wait on the dock. There was only one boat running so we made a stop in Germany on the way to Mexico. Didn’t realize that. So this was quite a chunk out of my day, even though it was nice. I got off the boat at 2:50. Funny how 15 minutes seems a lot longer when you’re in a hurry.

At 3pm, I get to the line for the Disney Visa Meet & Greet and another things hits me. I don’t have my Disney Visa card. I got this goofy idea that I might lose it, and being the only credit card I brought with me, that would be bad. So I left it in my room. [gives forehead a swift bang with the hand]. I couldn’t have remembered this while I was still in Morocco????! Big fat waste of time.

So I figured I’d take the opportunity to go ahead and get my jacket out of my locker for use this evening and pointed myself toward World Showcase again. I figured I’d just start at Mexico and work my way to where I left off, but I had the nifty idea of taking the Friendship Boat back up. I’m not always the sharpest tool in the shed. Nevertheless, it did save me some walking and I got to see them pull out the Illuminations barges.

2008016and7395.jpg

At 3:18, I picked up where I left off. I slipped into Japan but the shops simply do not interest me. I hate anime and there is always an inordinate amount of it here. Pokemon and his minions grate on my nerves. But I did stop to watch Miyuki for a bit.

2008016and7378.jpg

I’ve been in the hall many times, so I skipped that and walked around the grounds a bit. The landscaping here is gorgeous. I moved on to Italy, skipping the American Pavilion, but didn’t spend much time there. Maybe I just wasn’t in the shopping mood or something. At the time I felt like I was doing a lot of browsing and slow-going, but looking back on it I was moving through the pavilions pretty quickly. But I did stop to watch Sergio. I love this guy, my son got to be the butt of all his hilarity last trip.

2008016and7402.jpg

At 3:45, I was done in Italy and at 4:07 I was done in Germany. I do love the German shops though. I get a kick out of the cuckoo clocks.

2008016and7415.jpg

At this point, I remembered that I wanted to get my son a set of devil sticks. You know those sticks where you hold two of them and you juggle the third. They’re always playing them outside the China pavilion. Well… I was thinking they were in Japan. [Another shot to the forehead]. So I walk all the way back to Japan, realize they aren’t there and walk back to China. That’s quite a haul, look on the map. Record time though, at 4:21 I was buying those stupid devil sticks.

My son’s Cub Scout pack has their annual banquet soon and the theme is Chinese New Year. I was hoping to find something in China that I could use for that. I looked for candy that I could give out but they have nothing. Nothing. I was disappointed. This is the Year of the Rat (yes the boys will have fun with that one) and all I could find were earrings with the Year of the Rat symbol on them to give to the banquet coordinator. Love those warrior guys though…

2008016and7448.jpg

4:53 and I move on to Norway. I had heard such wonderful things about school bread. I even skipped my beloved crème brulee to have some. I took one look at all the coconut on top and my heart sank. Yuck. I’m sure it’s wonderful underneath all that stuff, but I can’t get past the coconut. I was half tempted to hoof it back for my brulee. However, having done that twice today already, I opted for the lefse.

2008016and7456.jpg

It was ok, but quite bland. I vowed not to pass up my favorite again. I sat out on the patio on this lovely day and listened to Spellman’s Gledje while I ate. That was exceptionally nice.

At 5:15, I was in Mexico. I absolutely adore the folkart animals that the lady makes in the foyer there. I want to bring some home, but I know they would just be moved from shelf to shelf just like every other little knick knack I have and never found a perfect home for. I’ve got a Norwegian troll that sits on my desk. He’s in a new spot at least twice a week. I went inside the pavilion and took a bunch of pictures. That was fun.

2008016and7465.jpg

2008016and7474.jpg

By 5:27, I was done in Mexico and went into Mousegears to pick up some kitchen stuff for our camper. At this point, I wasn’t happy that I’d gotten my jacket out of the locker. It was a pain to carry. But as I stopped to check out my Leave a Legacy tile, it started to rain. Good decision after all. It wasn’t a terribly cold or heavy rain, just a drizzle. Until I got out to the bus stop for Pop Century. Then it poured. At 6:18, I was on the bus back to Pop. We had to leave some poor guy at the stop because he was the third ECV in line and couldn’t make it on the bus. Who says those things are convenient? I felt sorry for him.

At 6:29, I was back at Pop and intended to pick up packages from yesterday at the gift shop. Wouldn’t you know it, my receipts were in my room. For all my planning on this trip, I keep doing stuff like this. Cost me another trip to and from my room. However, I did pick up the packages, put them in my room and went to the Downtown Disney bus stop. Ready to do some real shopping.

Next up... my evening at DTD.

Hey Mustard! Hey Disneymooner! Thanks for dropping in. Nice to have old "friends" drop by!

Hi Anne! I've been lurking for awhile but decided to come out of the shadows to tell you how much I've enjoyed reading about your adventures. Your trip is my dream! One day, I, too, will be solo at Disney World!

Thanks for the entertainment!

Living vicariously through me, I see. You guys should just bite the bullet and get out there on your own! WDW is a great first solo vacation. This was my second time and I plan to go again in a few years. Right now, we're planning the Fort Wilderness Campground trip in our new-to-us popup camper. Don't know yet if it will be August of '08 or '09. More likely '09.

Looking forward to hearing more about your trip. :goodvibes
