Hey everyone!!

Whoa, did this go the opposite of how I thought it would! Thought I would gradually be on here more and more as we get closer... now I just find I have so much to do that I am not getting here at all!!

A few things I noticed over the last couple of pages/
we'll be at Nachi... would love to combine transportation

The kids have some girly pirate outfits, but I didn't get anything for DH and I.

Definitely plan on meeting for the first meet and hopefully a bunch of the others. Sorry I've been non-committal about all that stuff... with it being our first cruise I just have no clue what to expect or where the kids will want to be when, etc.

Is there a fish lips meet? I think we'll head there Friday and see if we see anyone.. not sure what time we'll get in yet, will depend on weather... BE GONE SNOW!!

Packing, haven't started. No worries, that is typical me, I've always been a last minute packer. LOL

Excitement... getting about through the roof around here... the kids are making up songs, and telling me how many more days every minute they can... too cute! I wish I wasn't worried about seasickness I just hope no one gets it!!!

I don't remember who asked about what night pirate night is but if you go to page 37 Post 551 on this thread I have it all laid out from what my VSS sent me.

DH and I are thinking about doing the 5K as a walk, a brisk walk but a walk. It will take at least an hour I am sure. I will post more on this as time gets closer.

Well, as you are coming to NYC for a few days, shop for summer clothes there. They are already out in most of the stores. JEALOUS of your seeing Billy Elliot!!! I LOVED that movie and would love to see the show! I want to hear all about it on the ship. And I can't think of a better time to utilize your interpretive dance skills than talking about Billy Elliot! As for fur bermudas...

ALl they have left are verandahs and suites...
I was trying for an extra room inside and there was nothing.

I bet you could get one for less than $1000
And here is a tip.....you can call 3 days before cruise and get about the same price as you would at port because this is the cut off time i guess for when the cruise can be booked.....dont quote me on this but i think this is why.

I will be trying t 3 days out for a suite....I will of course post on here to let you know how it goes.

We'll be at Nachi Cocum, as well as Chrisse and several others. I think there was some discussion about sharing transportation (vans?) as opposed to several cabs, but I don't think a definite plan was made. Did you decide whether or not you still want to do the Castaway Cay 5k? Or will I be left in the dust of the runners by myself?

I am definitely in on the CC 5K! Even have a magnet to post after it's over...

No- I would LOVE to walk/run the 5K with you!! The only responses I saw were mostly "just show up- there will be others"- and that still scared me!

Well, 25% off felt that way for me, since I already had budgeted for the original price... Well, it doesn't mean the money's back in my pocket, it has been converted into wine package and other mimosa credits! Maybe they should have named this promotion Kanadians Drink Free!

Oh, and since everybody here is all classy and everything with their questions about cognac tasting and snorkeling, let me be the tacky one: How about the bingo? Is it fun, frustrating, over-priced, entertaining, all of the above? I'm a bit put off by the electronic cards that auto-fill themselves, since it takes away my secret advantage over ADD-riddled kids and over-camomilled grannies, but is it still worth it? Or are you all judging me for even asking the question?

I'm leaving by train on the 18th, for a 3-day New York trip and then a 22-hour train ride to Orlando. My two friends and I are gonna meet at the Sheraton Suites Orlando Airport and we got a town car waiting at 9h00 AM on the 22nd, to arrive at the terminal at 10h00! They tell me it's too soon, but I want to be there when the terminal opens, am I crazy?

You are NOT crazy! We will be there as soon as possible in the morning. Of course, that is dependent on the hotel shuttle... As for Bingo, I think it would be fun, but I think it's a tad on the expensive side. And if I recall, last time there was always other stuff we wanted to do when bingo was on...

We're going to Nachi Cocum too! A little nervous with what is going on in Mexico but if a group was going, I think it will be a blast! All DD talks about is "swim, swim, swim!"!

As for pirate night...I found DD a cute little skirt that kinda looks like a pirate. We will be at dinner and that's it. Every day she confirms with us "no fireworks?" so I'm not going to tramatize her for this vacation. If she is asleep, I think either DH or I will try to sneak up to watch the party for a little bit and bring back some goodies from the buffet.

Can anyone confirm about the paperwork to bring to the port??? It printed out 3 pages of a contract to sign. All the other information I filled out (airline, passport, etc.) is saved but no where did it provide me with an opportunity to print it. Yeah, I know I'm a slacker and just did it tonight.

Just the 3 pages is all you need! I double checked. Last year I printed the whole thing and they didn't want that. I also asked on the boards last week and they confirmed that only the 3 pages is all you need...

OK, first of all.....I want you all to know how hard it was for me to not sit here and post and post and post last niight while you were all sleeping just so I could be #1500- what a nerd!! Congrats, kayleebug! It's the little things, isn't it?

Formal Night- I thought the 7:30 thing was weird too! I want to see the Sunset festival in Mallory Square- not be racing on board to get gussied up! Hmmm.....I wonder if my dude told DCL the wrong date for his birthday....?

5K- Sorry for any misunderstandings....I just meant that they only give us a 30 min head start before people start getting off the ship, not that we only get 30 minutes and the run is over. ALTHOUGH- I did read a woman's post that she walked the entire 5K and took over an hour to finish, so there was no one at the finish line to hand her a certificate, and she never ended up getting one in her stateroom either b/c no one ever took her name for having completed it......but she told GS and got one after all. Other posters said that they didn't even hand out certificates at all for theirs- so let's just do the 5K to feel good about it and just be pleasantly surprised if we get an extra souvie of our efforts! Man, I'd better get my big butt on the treadmill today!

So.....for the people going to Nachi---what time are you planning to be in line for a taxi? We're ashore as early as 9:45am, and NC opens at 08:30 local time. (Anyone know the difference? We must be an hour ahead onboard?) Looks like individual taxi rides are going for $15-16 each way.....anybody seen how much we can save (at all) by taking a taxi van? If it's a negligible diff, I may just stick with my fam, as those vans never fair well for my darned motion sickness....

CC 5Kers - what if we met to the right of the bottom of the gangplank (I mean gangway...?) Let's get a group photo before we head out- I'm bringing my small little camera on the run. Hopefully I don't regret that decision later. Plan to be down at the doors no later than 8:20am, so we make sure we're all there. Then we can discuss who's going to stick together if people are interested in doing that. I can jog, then walk, then jog, then walk......but I don't want to get lost by myself!! Wish they had a map we could peruse.

Kelli--- I wanna see this magnet!! Can I copy you and print one out too?!? And thank you so much for the list- got it!

Hey everyone! I have been meaning to post but to be honest, my head is about to explode!

FE's: My DD and I finished up the final details of the FEs and ran them against the list to make sure we had enough and for some reason I had extras! Then I remembered we lost a family AND I forgot to NOT count us!...lol.

Packing: I have things all over my bedroom to get packed and even have one of the suitcases already packed(FEs) but honestly, untill it is closer there is no point in packing because I am just going to go through the suitcases a hundred times seeing if I got everything. I have lists that would scare people! I am very anal about preparedness. Not sure why but I panic about things like this.

Excitement: My excitement is getting the better of me. I have done so many things to try to distract myself but by bed time it all comes rushing back to me. Stressing that I have budgeted enough, or that our flights won't have issues due to bad weather... It is a wonder my husband hasn't called the people with the rubber van and the love me jacket yet!

Pirate Night: I have just taken 4 plain white t shirts and added the iron on I posted way back! It is nothing special but that and the head scarves I got at Halloween will do us just fine.

KSF: We had booked the crusie months before the promotion and had a veranda room then. I just called Abraham and he sent me a refund! It was just that easy! We would be going and in a veranda room either way.

Nachi Cocom: Yes, my family will be there! I was hoping we could set up a time that everyone wants to go and see about sharing taxis both for cost and security reasons. I won't have time to go shopping though if you ladies are going at 3ish. I have a couples massage with DH @ 5:30ish.

Extra FE's are always a good thing! I finished putting mine together, just need to put names & cabin #'s to them to make delivery easier. Got a LOT of packing done yesterday! Snow was definitely good for that!

Alexis and other potential 5K participants......I was just looking at some old navigators, and they definitely have it listed as a 5K RUN, and they only allot 30 minutes for it. It's going to take me 45. Everyone still OK with me "wogging" (walk/jogging) along? Meet at the gangway at 8:30am, and the folks onboard start disembarking at 9am. Woo hoo!! Castaway Cay!
And Alexis......."suspected over-imbiber?" HILARIOUS!

But GiddyRhino.....your post about bingo ("over-camomilled grannies?") FREAKING KILLED ME!!!!! I busted out laughing!! Pretty sure I won't be hitting up any bingo games....but your description sure was funny!

I sure wish they'd post some more recent navigators- it's killing me for the clothing Ziplocs! My Alaska Airlines cruise rep told me that my son's bday (Key West) is also formal night when I called to request a bday cake for him- and I don't see that matching up anywhere?!?! Anyone else know?

The most recent navigators I've seen were from December. I'll go look up the thread and post it here...

Right now, actually, I'm re-reading Kelli's TR from last January! Just finished Day 4 in Cozumel, and Kelli, I know you headed back to the ship for your Vista Spa appt.....but what is everyone who's going to Nachi planning to do? I'd like to get right out there to the beach, but I'd like to get back soon enough to have a quick Rita at Margaritaville!! It's the Parrothead tour! Def want to get a full day of sand in though.....man, I hope it's somewhat warm!!!

Lynn.....I'm bringing pirate costumes for my two DS- but DH and I won't be wearing anything "pirate-ish." I may wear a flowy rust colored skirt and a black top---will I look like a wench? Last time, I made DH wear this HUGE Pirates of the Caribbean hat that spoke: "Dead Men Tell No Tales..........!!" His cousin was also wearing one- but now that it's just the 4 of us, no go. Oh well. My kids were a NIGHTMARE on Pirate Night in Feb 2008, so they didn't even get to go to the Party.....I'm so hoping we all make it this time!

I do want to hit the shopping area with Alexis for a bit as there is a purse there that Alex saw and loved last year and I am hoping to get her one for her birthday!

I seriously doubt that formal night is Key West day. We are in port unitl 7:30pm. I was under the impression that formal night was the first sea day which would be Monday.

Formal and Semi-formal are usually on sea days if I recall correctly. Definitely won't be on Key West day. I really want to try and catch some of the sunset party too...

I was really worried about seasickness last year too. Alex got a bit queasy the first night, but popped on the trusty SeaBands and all was well. Taking those again this time and also all the other meds I like to drag along as insurance against getting sick!

Also, e-mail me if you are going to Nachi Cocom so we can see who all will be there and if you are interested in sharing a ride. Also let me know what time you plan to leave. I don't think we'll even get to do pirate night, as that's the only night I was able to get a Palo reservation. I am going to try to switch to a brunch reservation once I board, but we'll see.

So much fun!!! Summer clothes are just coming out here so hopefully you'll find something. NYC tends to be ahead of us though so you should be all set! Fur bermudas....would LOVE to see that!!! I was going to recommend seeing a show as they really are amazing. Haven't seen Billy Elliot but heard some amazings things about it! I'm so jealous!!! You can't go wrong with all the known restaurants and probably don't need a reservation this time of year. Enjoy and I hope it doesn't snow too much while you are here...while you are used to the snow, people still act like fools here!

u two are still not feeling well? I sure hope you are better by the cruise so you can enjoy it. do u still have the flu or is yours more just morning sickness?

Thankfully no morning sickness. That would suck! We are feeling much better. DH wasn't feeling well and he tends to take every medicine known to man when he is sick and it didn't work. After a couple days he figured to go to the Dr to stop it earlier so he was better before vacation and they put him on antibiotic #4. Apparently it is very strong and he is feeling much much better. I am feeling better except my sinuses are killing me. I also found a huge lump in my throat the past couple weeks and this morning while DD was in preschool I ran to the Dr just to get it checked out (never google lump in throat!). Turns out my tonsils are superinflamed and I'm swollen from my nose to my throat. The problem is I am allergic to a lot of antibiotics so I am told to "tough it out". Which I'm fine with but wanted to be sure the lump wasn't something worse!

Depending on where your room is you may be able to ee fireworks from your room........

Aslong as you have the printed pages where you sign at the bottom that is all the printed things you need and your pass ports and i always make sure i have the CC i used on line.
