Jan. 22- 29 , 2011 Western Caribean Cruise on the Disney Magic!!!

But your travel insurance might include a clause for emergency repatriation. Just in case...

sorry but travel insurance can not change Federal / International Law.

The U.S. Passport Card can be used to enter the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda at land border crossings or sea ports-of-entry and is more convenient and less expensive than a passport book. The passport card cannot be used for international travel by air.

Don't have an official meet at FishLips Friday night, but Lynn, Alexis and I have a reservation set up for 6:30, party of 11. If y'all want to join, I can call and add you to it! Just let me know... Or if you aren't sure, ask to sit downstairs, as that's where we'll be!

Awesome!! Thanks so much!! I'll do that, ask to sit downstairs.... if it looks like we'll be there in plenty of time then if you don't mind maybe I'll call that day and see if they can squeeze us in with you guys.... with good weather hoping to get in about 3:30ish....

We are staying at the CI&S, and the person I talked to on the phone said we had to wait until the day we check in to sign up for a shuttle time. Does anyone know if that is correct? I would love to go ahead and call to sign up for a time.

I got the same story :( I also did call them (the 1-800 line) yesterday to have parking added to our friends and family rate... and they said it was already included. :thumbsup2 I hope they know what they're talking about. LOL

Right. But they won't have to stay abroad forever. You're not deported or anything just because you left the country without a passport. Sorry, not trying to sound like a know-it-all, but someone in my immediate family just went through this in September, returning from the Caribbean by air. :upsidedow It took almost an entire day, an immigration attorney in Atlanta, and a hefty pricetag. But he was allowed to return to his home.

At this point, if all Sibahan has are passport cards, it's too late to get actual passports. To assuage panic, I just wanted to let them know that the cards are fine as long as there is no emergency, but even if there IS an emergency they will be allowed to come home. In my family's case, the travel insurance would have helped contact the attorney and offset the cost, had we needed it.

Yaaaayyyyy!!! FishLips party! :dance3:

I am only going to use shower cap shampoo happy dancers from now on! :lmao:

So I feel like I have my door-magnet situation under control. And then again...it seems like I'm doing an awful lot of cutting. Trying to trim the excess magnet paper from around Minnie's eyelashes finally snapped me back to my senses! But I have a question for previous cruisers/door decorators:

Is the excess magnet paper strong enough to hold up the magnets I'll be making from laminated cardstock? I read some posts where people just say to cut up some old refrigerator magnets and stick them on the back of the laminate. I don't really have a lot of actual magnets, but I have a ton of this magnet paper scrap. The two seem to have the same degree of magnetism when I test them on my door, but that's without anything glued on. I don't want my magnets falling off all week! What do you think?

(I might not have used the word "magnet" in my entire life as many times as I did for just this one post.)

I use those magnets that you attach to the back of business cards. I just cut them up and stick to the back of my laminated magnets...

I don't actually use the magnetic paper.....I use the magnetic tape roll. I cut the strips into a few magnets for the corners of each one......is this lame?

NO!!

Great information on 5K, thanks for posting. Are any of your DHs doing the run or am I one of the only Dis guys on here thinking about it at the moment? I was thinking Yes, then was a No as of last few days. Now, I am a Definite Maybe. LOL

I was trying to convince myself that would be a great 2nd visit activity to CC. :rotfl: I thought since this was my first time with our kids to CC I didn't want to be worn out, miss any fun things or being to tired to enjoy the time playing with them on CC. Also thinking being sore the next morning disembarking and while spending a full day with sore feet and muscles walking around Universal didn't sound like much fun. BUT then..... I am also a sucker for any fun new experience like doing a 5K on CC. Those pictures she posted really make it look and feel more relaxed and take it easy kind of a group run/race.

My DH won't get near a 5K! I am definitely doing it, but not racing...

I really hope one of you get a Suite, that would be very cool. If any of you do get the Roy or Walt suites especially, I would love to come and take a look at it, they sound and look awesome from the pictures. I believe our wave phones will be something like 7509-1 and 7509-2 you could text us onboard if you don't mind DW and I coming to see it.

Question for those not first time on DCL, do they have Shampoo and Conditioner in the Bathrooms and is it good quality? Some CLs do and others use cheap or soapy smelling stuff. I would rather not buy it in Cocoa night before or not pack it being heavier & risk breaking open in ziplock or luggage but will if it is not good quality for the DW & DDs with longer hair.

They do have shampoo, conditioner & soap onboard. It's pretty good stuff (H2O) and I love the way it smells!

I want to see the suite too, if anyone gets it! And I know this is unbelievably lame, but in concierge you also get a shower gel and after sun gel. I REALLY want some of that if someone is willing to snag me a tube! :worship:

Squeezing in with us is fine with me! The more the merrier. Do you want me to go ahead and call?

Ok so I'm at the magnet stage too. :). Went to get laminating paper to put over cardstock and it was $8 for 3 small sheets!!!! Magnet paper was $18 for 2 sheets!!! I was thinking of just printing on cardstock and putting magnets behind it. Where are you all getting laminating paper? DH will kill me if I spend $50 on magnets at this point. :)

And than everyone about the float in pool question. DD willbe fine w/o a swim diaper and pull up BUT I am worried all the excitement will be so much for her that she won't want to go on the potty. I'm probably going to see how she does and potentially go the pullups route if she has a few accidents. No use in ruining her vacation and ours if it is going tone a battle. But I'll explain no Mickey pool. That should be enough incentive!!!

I took mine to FedEx/Kinko's and had them laminate. They did it all on a big sheet. Definitely cheaper than buying a laminator and WAY cheaper then magnet paper...

You're welcome!! It sure beats my little brother singing Rick Astley over and over. Every time we'd get on the phone to look at that 4shared file. Nonstop. :rotfl: Enjoy!

I used clear contact paper. I just cut out two pieces and put the printed sheet/picture in the middle of the two and cut around. It was fairly inexpensive. I got a roll of magnet at Micheal's for maybe $4.99, but you can use the 40% off coupon to get it a little cheaper.

I just printed my magnets out on photo paper since I have an abundance of it on hand and used magnetic tape on the backs of them. If they aren't up to anyones standards, they don't have to look at my door! lol

Ok I haven't had alot of time to post and I am very behind on what all is going on here so I will be brief...

I AM FREAKING OUT! I have very little packed at this moment and even though I have "some" of the things people want packed to take in baskets in my room, the only thing I have packed is FE's and toiletries...lol. I haven't decided if I should attempt the whole zip lock bag thing or not. I have one suitcase packed with FEs and other small things that fit and I even made a list of what is in that suitcase but I will be tearing it apart again today because I am a serious psychopath at this point! I need more tea...lol. And yes! I drink Chamomile! lol.

Ok, DH and I have talked about doin gthe 5K run but I think he is rethinking it because he wants to actually sleep in while he can. Work has been so crazy for him and he has been working from 6 am till sometimes 10pm. He gets home, hops in a shower, eats and goes to bed. If he doesn't do the 5K I probably won't either because I don't want to hold anyone back. I have no idea what condition my knee will be in but I am bringing my brace JUST IN CASE!!!

Ok. I have 2 things I would like to get sorted out real quick before we go...
1) Who all has a child who has a birthday while we are actually sailing?
2) Who is going to Nachi Cocom and how many people in your party?

I am just wondering how many of the 100 guests in Nachi will be us! Hummor me! I need something to keep my mind busy....lol.

Just think! 9 days and we are on the ship! I remember when I got all excited at 199 days!!! My vacation begins after work on Tuesday! And talk about a packing challenge! it is roughly -26°C here right now(-34°C with the windchill) and I will need cold weather clothes for the days we are in the city and then Warm weather clothes for the trip! I may just have to brink my whole closet!

Ok, I think I have babbled on enough for today. I have no idea if what I said even makes sense but if you care at all about my feelings you will pretend it did...lol. :confused3

What a great idea!!! Thank you!!!

It makes for a lot of cutting, but was totally worth the price and the one's from last year still look great!

You're welcome!! It sure beats my little brother singing Rick Astley over and over. Every time we'd get on the phone to look at that 4shared file. Nonstop. :rotfl: Enjoy!

I cannot STAND Rick Astley!! :rotfl:

I know how you feel!! I have a good bit of stuff packed but only for me & the kids. The DH is resistant to pre-packing. :sad2: I finally got him to try on his suit & shirts for said suit. Thank GOODNESS I did as the pants & shirt do not fit anymore!! So now, I have to go shopping this weekend for that stuff. Fortunately, having 2.5 snow days at home was a huge help!

Alex will turn 11 on Castaway Cay day!! :yay: And, as you know, we will be a party of 4 for Nachi Cocom.

I will be sending out the new meet/cards/Nachi list soon. E-mail me if you want on the list for any of those!

My DD will be turning 3 on embarkation day..January 22.

I as well would love to get a look at at suite if anyone ends up with one...just so I can dream and see what I may end up with if I ever win the lottery!! :lmao:

Chrisse, I feel your pain. While it isn't as cold (teens right now), I have cold and warm things packed. I was going to do ziplock bags but not sure how the weather will be and we may wear jeans rather than shorts. Rather than tearing apart the bags I figured I would make it easier. All DD's bottoms match with all her shirts I'm bringing. Cold and warm. (either jeans or carpi's). I think I'm crazy because while we are Aiming for eating in the dining room every day, I don't think that's realistic with DD. Yet I have 7 dresses for her packed...did I mention she's not and fan of dresses either. I know I'm going to kick myself for it but it would be awesome if she would wear a pretty dress and let me enjoy a nice dinner that I don't need to cook!!!

Wow...great that there are already 2 birthdays!!! Hmmm that's a great idea for next year to rebook on DD's birthday...hmmmm! :)

Are you early or late dinner seatting?

I am sure once your DD sees other little girls in dresses she will want to wear them. I know my DD has 4 dresses packed already!!! lol And she is 11!

We have early seating since DD is in bed by 8pm. :(

And very true! If she could wear her princess dress everyday she would! 4 dresses already - I like the way she thinks!!! :). Now for matching shoes... :)

I print my magnets on photo paper and use the magentic tape on the back- works like a charm!

She is a model... she has them! I am only letting her take one pair though...lol.

That's what I did!!!

Question to anyone who may know....
What time is sunset/sunrise at our destinations? Just a rough idea as to how much sunlight we will see. It is finally staying lighter here. I hated when it was dark till 9 am and then dark again by 4pm :sad2:
