Okay first day bak as an ASST MAN.....
Not so bad.

My DH was offered a promotio to day with his job...
Someone looking out for us.

Although it means even more travel for him....he cant be gone to much more than he is now...

He is normally only home one week a month and weekends as it is so.....
I feel like a single gal most days!!!!

I better be careful or I think by the time this trip gets here I will have spent more time preparing and reading the past trip reports, boards, and forums, than the time I will actually spend on the ship during the vacation.

Would that be considered stocking a cruise ship, travel addiction ....... or a vacation fantasy?

Just wanted to pop in and say hi because I have been so insanely busy that both DIS and Facebook have fallen by the wayside temporarily! I also wanted to say hey to GiddyRhino - always so much fun to read your posts! Oddly enough, DD3 prefers broccoli to candy (I know, truly bizarre) so go ahead and drop by our room! lol.

Last night I made some progress on the FE gifts - taking me more time than I figured but hey, it's fun!

Kelli - THANK YOU again so much for organizing all of this for us!! What a tremendous gift for you to volunteer and you are doing such a great job!! These type of things are always more work than they appear but we are very grateful!!

I hope everyone has a great day! When I dropped my boys off to school it was about 23 degrees!

You have been missed in both places! Lots of chatter this week on Facebook. Not so much here lately. I think people are busy with the Christmas season so close.
Is everyone done all their shopping? I have one more trip to the city to do then I am done. I have a Christmas party tomorrow night and we are having a get together here before hand since DD & DS are babysitting for those going with kids. Have to decorate the gym at the school tonight for the Christmas concerts! This will be my last one! All this going on and I am just getting over the flu and on Wednesday night after getting back from the hospital with DS, I somehow pulled a muscle in my shoulders and I can hardley move! What a week!

Kelli sure has done a lot for us all! We all are lucky to have her in our group!

Harmless? Hmmm... Haven't been near Facebook except to check posts on my BB. Need to hit it this weekend... Almost done with Christmas shopping, hoping to finish this weekend. Tonight we have Alex's cheerleading year-end party and we are piggy-backing Kev's birthday celebration on with that as it's at GattiTown (sort of a glorified Chuck-E-Cheese ) so we will have 3 extra 7-8 year olds sleeping over tonight. I am living for 11am tomorrow!! Saturday Bert & I actually have a date night! Needless to say, there will be naps prior to that as I don't anticipate a whole lot of sleep tonight!

Pulled muscle? I am so sorry! Hope you feel better soon! Maybe you should just stay in until cruise time?

Well we had our Christmas party last night and I was having SO MUCH FUN... then we ate and I wasn't carefull... I must have had something contaminated with gluten(my guess is the turkey since there was stuffing in with it when I got it but I thought I would be ok....) well I ended up so sick! DH ended up bringing me home around 9pm! 9!!! Can you believe it! I felt fine after I slept for a few hours but by then everyone at our table had gone home so I just stayed in bed. So much for having a great party night! I fully expect to compensate with some great nights on the crusie! Anyone care to join me?

Hello January 22nd cruisers!!

My name is Karla, and I think a few of you spotted me over on the main thread asking questions about various things, and I'm JUST now making it over here to the Meet thread.

No worries....we're not FE or exchange type of DISers- my DH is extremely ANTI-meet up with extra people on our vacation, or adding extra work and/or stuff for me to pack. Me- I would totally be into all of this- and absolutely LOVE the DIS! On our last cruise (almost 3 yrs ago! ) I kept looking at people in the terminal, wondering, "Are they on the boards? Is that so-and-so I wonder...." or seeing a group of people together and wondering if it was a Meet.

On this upcoming trip, however, I notice that there are lots of things that many of us are doing where we could potentially just "happen" to end up in the same spot: Captain Marvin's to Stingray City and Nachi Cocum! (Well, still waiting to make sure there's availability since last week when I held off bc DH wanted me to look into ruins some more...)

Anyhow---whatcha all got planned?? I started going through all 81 pages....but after reading seven or so pages, I decided I'd be up all night if I didn't just ASK!!

Looking forward to surprising our kids on Christmas morning in just 13 days!!

Between me and my DH, I am definitely the one who gets involved with all the meets and exchanges. He just tags along for the ride I guess you could say.
Looking forward to perhaps meeting you on board! We booked the stingray tour with Moby Dick and as much as I would have like to be joining you and the other's at Nachi I got out voted by the rest in my party. Maybe next cruise I will be more persuasive!
I'm sure your children will be very surprised on Christmas. My children know about the trip but we all have been keeping it a secret from my neice and I am looking forward to seeing her face when she finds out she is going with us!

Hope you enjoy having less pressure with the new position... sounds like you made the best choice for you... I did something similar years ago and never looked back... quality of life it worth so much more than the income, even though of course you gotta do what you gotta do, but if you can swing it with less... it's usually the best decision!

We are also surprising the kids.. how are you doing it? I think we're going to do the "reveal" Christmas Eve... I really want them to understand that this is from mom and dad, and the hard work that went into this and that this isn't something Santa did for them that they will then expect every year!! LOL

We are doing the trolley in Key West, planning to hit the butterflies, southernmost point and shipwreck museum I think.

Am I the only one not able to book Palo for tea? I log on at midnight on the first day it was open for the first-timers and was able to secure brunch and dinner, but nothing was available for tea.

Going on a little side trip, then I have a minor surgery, then the holiday, then friends coming for the week after Christmas and new years eve, on top of work and my business... AH!
Good thing is all this is going to make Jan 22 be here before i know it!

I'll probably be better about checking in on the facebook group ... but if I'm not here... then talk to ya when there's less than 3 weeks left!
