Jan. 22- 29 , 2011 Western Caribean Cruise on the Disney Magic!!!

If I recall correctly, we took 3 suitcases with clothes, 1 for FE's and 1 with wine (carry on). So I think you are just fine!

Anyone out there thinking about a Castaway Cay cabana? I keep eyeballing them, but $500 is a LOT of money for that...

I was looking at them but there is not a chance in he!! I could afford that! Would be great to know your stuff is safe though. :(

My worry with luggage is we will be coming from a very cold season to warm and will probably have some winter clothes to fit in the suitcases too. If it seems warm enough, we may leave our winter jackets in the truck at the airport and just use a light jacket we will have for the cruise. Any thoughts?

BTW... MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

We have about an inch of snow on the grass this morning!!! :sad2:

Hey everyone!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Welcome to all the newcomers on the thread!! :cool1:
And congrats to everyone that got to make ressies already!! I am also a Nov 8th person. Hoping to get Palo Brunch.
If we are not seafood lovers though, is there enough there to choose from?

For our excursions we're going to do:

Key West: Butterflies, maybe aquarium on our own

Grand Cayman: Sting Ray City on our own (Dexter Fantasea)

Cozumel: still up in the air. I thought I had settled on the Manatees 'cause my 6 yr old LOVES them. The description on the website said kids of all ages, but when you go to purchase tickets it only has tics for those 4ft and over. So I IM'd with an agent and once she found out I was on a cruise she wouldn't even talk to me. She insisted I could not order from their website, only through my ship. I explained to her that they don't offer the excursion or any excursions for under 5 yr olds and she said it didn't matter. So Cozumel has been giving me a lot of grief. LOL

CC: Plan on getting bikes for all of us and then maybe jet skiing for me and DH. (How much is the jet skiing?) Would like to snorkel, but will depend on water temp.

Tammy pirate:

Hey,
Is there a way to find out what movies will show on our cruise? My girls want to see Tangled, but if it will be on the ship I think we'll hold off so we can see it then. :woohoo:

That is what we do here in Ontario. We just suffer for the couple of minutes it takes to get from the car into the airport. Too much to take 4 winter jackets.

When does it get released in the movie theatres? If it's around the same time it very well might be playing on the ship. Oh I hope so, my girls want to see that one too!

Tangled is one my DD and I want to see. The boys may or may not but there is plenty they can do if it is showing onboard and she wants to go to it.

Just got my flu/H1N1 sho and I hurt now! :sad2: Wednesday is Hep shots and tetnis... oh goodie! :headache: Has everyone already gotten their travel shots done already? I am a first time traveler so I haven't needed any of this before other than what they MAKE you get in school.

I believe it comes out thanksgiving week, so it'll be a couple months old.

So we were up at 12:01 also and were able to book everything we wanted. Palo Brunch for my husband and I and brunch for our moms on a different day! Palo dinner for us on Key West night at 6:00 as the sun sets. Palo tea for our moms. Submarine tour in Grand Cayman. We also booked Nachi Cocum on our own. Really looking forward to that one as I have heard so many great reviews. To those who booked the jet ski tour at CC you will love it. My son and husband still talk about that trip. Well, know that the booking is over, I will need something else to occupy my planning time. Time to shop for FE gifts!!!:goodvibes

I noticed that someone has posted on the disboard both menus and navigators for a recent WC cruise on the Magic. I looked through them but..
Does anyone know if it is possible to print out the navigators off this sight? Or do you have to PM the creator of the thread and have them send it to you?
Kelli, I know you said you were looking for this information. Let me us know if you have any luck retrieving them.

Glad to hear that everyone is having good luck getting all the ressies that they wanted. I just hope that I am as lucky come November 8th and if not, then when we get on board!:yay:

I agree it is really expensive and not really in our budget, but still tempting... It will definitely be warm enough to leave stuff in the truck at the airport. You won't be outside anywhere cold for long enough to warrent bringing them.

Palo: Yes there are plenty of non-seafood options.

Cozumel: Wow! I was thinking Manatees too, but now, I think we'll just do Nachi Cocom. Too much trouble it sounds like with the manatees... :sad2:

We really want to see that too. Last January we saw Princess & the Frog as a show one night and it was playing (I think) in the theatre. I think it came out at the same time of year as Tangled is this year so I am thinking we'll see it on board. I am hoping so anyway, as I am not going to go to the theater to see it because we will (I hope) see it on the cruise.

I had booked Palo dinner at 6:00 too, but the DH about had a fit and said he didn't want to eat that early. Mind you, we usually eat at 6:30ish at home! :sad2: So, whatever, I changed it to 7:30... Did you have any issues with Nachi Cocum? What kind of good stuff have you heard? :surfweb:

Good news! I contacted someone who did the 7-day western on the Magic right after dry-dock and he is going to send me copies of the Navigators when they get all unpacked... Yay! As soon as I get them, I'll scan them and send to everyone I have e-mail addresses on...

Oh, going to look now!! I saw the menus but missed the Navigators. Are they the same thread?

Different thread but I am having trouble seeing them on my computer..not sure why..it is showing error for some reason.

Yes I saw that one too but I would really like to be able to use the the other thread so I can print them out and study them...lol. I hate staring at a computer screen for long periods of time.

Welcome to all the new cruisers! I was cub scout camping over the weekend and have had a lot of catching up to do on here!!

You should be able to right click on the picture and then select "print picture". I tried it on one and it did work. I was glad to see those posted, too. I also was unable to open the links on the other thread, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

I don't think we are doing anything that requires pre-booking thru DCL. I'd like to try Palo brunch, but my husband feels like we have access to so much "free food" why pay for extra??

I am the same way! I PMed the girl that posted the links to her Google docs to see if she would e-mail them to me. I'll forward them along if she does... I can print the ones that are showing up, but feel that the pdf files might be better copies...

Well I was looking at some luggage sets to replace the broken ones but I was thinking....*If I have to pay for checked luggage, I am going to pay the same for a 28" as I do for a 24" right? And we all know I am an overpacker and need the room so why bother with sets?* Then the luggage store we were in was selling all their luggage seperately at 60% off and if you buy one you get the second 50% off(yes off the already 60% off!) PLUS I had a card for an extra 15 % off the final sale price! I ended up with 4 28" Tracker suitcases(a different color for each of us) for just over $140.00!!! How could I go wrong! And Tracker is a pretty good brand and has a nice waranty so if they fall apart I just get a new one! I know the owner of the store chain , used to work with him years ago, and he knows if I am not happy he will hear it so he would never sell me crap....lol. Glad he was checking in on that store when I was there...lol. How many suitcases is everyone bringing? Am I crazy for bringing 4? With 4 of us I want lots of room for all the shopping I hope to find in Key West. Plus our FE group is growing and I have a feeling I will need the room...lol.

Chrisse what store were you at, is it one i would have here in Winnipeg? I need a new large suitcase to. My DH still believes he can travel with a small luggage and then puts a bunch of his stuff in my suitcase so like it or not he is using a big suitcase this time.

We leave our heavy jackets in the car at the airport and bring a nice warm sweater or light jacket with us. We were in Ft Lauderdale to catch a cruise this year in January and it was really cold (usually no problem but bad winter there this year i guess) so be sure you still bring something reasonably warm plus can be cool at night out on deck.
