Jan 2012 code watch, Yes its early, but keep your eyes open

Well I didn't want to wait anymore and ended up booking with DVC rentals. It was hard to pass up a BLT studio - lake view for $231 a night with everything. Just hope I don't want to change my mind, since we're locked in. I am excited to try something new though since we usually stay in the Epcot Resort area. :thumbsup2

Renting points is always a good deal.

Just reserved AKL for Feb 4-9. Woo hoo.:cool1: Hoping for a room only discount or free dining.

We're booking Jan 5th to 10th at AKL. I'm hoping for a 40% off code since all we need is tickets and room. I'm hoping but expecting it won't happen for my dates. Last year we got free dinning but came in on Wednesday before marathon weekend. This year we're coming in on Thursday. The cut off date last year for free dinning was Wednesday before marathon weekend otherwise after. I guess one can hope!

Did you ever consider renting points to stay at AKL?

We also rented points this year instead of waiting for a deal. We got a deluxe for same price as a moderate. We're staying at VWL and I'm so excited.

Just booked Jan 29 - Feb 3, even got 3 RT tickets on Delta at 25k miles each. So far this has been my lucky trip!!! Here is for FD!

I checked it out and even if Disney offered 40% off a "standard" view studio at BLT, it's still like $200 cheaper for us to stay in our reserved "lake" view using points. :thumbsup2 We'll have a better view and it's cheaper, so it's a win win situation.

going January 22nd to the 29th. I am really crossing my fingers for some kind of discount. I keep hearing rumors that there is going to be something released tomorrow. Think it is too soon for it to be January?

how early do u have to call, if a room only offer does come out tomorrow ? I already have a reservation, if you do book the room only, what is the deposit required ?

well up early, checked here and called, nothing but that little free dining for not my time, the cm told me nothing for next year as been released yet, just keep checking. Wish I had a little disney genie to tell me that magical answer, oh well, just have to wait and wait...

I'm with ya. Really hoping for a great AP room only rate for January 14-22. And now I have to head back to work tomorrow so I won't be able to scour for discounts every morning. SO hoping I don't miss a great rate. This will actually mean the difference between my family staying on site for the first time ever or staying off site like we always do.

we are looking for a 2012 pin!!! going in june 2012, post cruise stay at the Poly...not sure if roo PINs typically apply for summer months??

Hi Beth - We have been there for Marathon weekend twice now and haven't noticed a real uptick in visitors. Weekend transportation can be slowed up, however, so take that into account. But the parks themselves were just fine.

Beth,

I second that! We run the marathon every year too, and the parks are fine. Barely affected. Great time to go. Slow season!

I called to see if either DBF or myself have a PIN since we plan to go early January and sure enough we both did, and both are only valid until the end of this year. :lmao: Just my luck...

The exact same thing happened to me. We are going Jan 2.
One CM said pin codes for January probably won't be out until October.

2 questions.....
1. are you all still going to call now for Jan pin codes?
2. if I have that pin code attached to my name, for free dining, but it'sonly good until Dec 2011, is there any chance I'd get another one, good for January? Or do they not allow more than one pin code at a time?

I'm definitely going to call back for January codes. She didn't even tell me what the codes were for, just that we each had one, each was different and both ended with the year (mine December 22, 2011).

I suspect you can only have one code at a time but by that I mean you wouldn't get a second code with usable times overlapping. Whether you can get a second one for a different time slot than the one you have now, I'm not sure.

I never got an e-mail or snail mail message about my codes which I found odd as I have in the past, so I'm definitely going to check up. She told me to consider booking now and if/when a new pin is sent to me or a GP discount comes out, I can apply it to that.

Yes, I knew you couldn't stack codes, I am just hoping to get another offer.
I did book a room only, rack rate, at POP Century. The rooms weregoing quickly, soI figured I'd at least have one. We are going to run in the 5K and we want to do it as cheaply as possible. Free dining would have been beyond magical!
