We were at WDW for the end of Jan this year, and I found it to be very busy.

I agree. We always go at the end of Jan and it's definitely busier. Not as bad as other times of year but things like Soarin were lines over an hour and fast pass return a few hours later (on a weekday), livin with the land was about 50 minutes. When we followed touring plan rules we did pretty well but in the afternoons pretty much every "big" ride had a decent wait. This year we are doing marathon weekend so I'm interested to see the difference. I've had no trouble getting the ADRs I wanted but rooms seem to be filling up.

I hate hearing that! We chose the last week in January for our 1st Disney trip b/c we thought it would be less crowded. I guess there is no longer a slow season.

I changed our trip from the first week of Oct. to Jan.28th- Feb.3rd because I thought it would be less crowded. I hope I didn't make a mistake

If it makes anyone feel better, we were there Jan 27-Feb 3 of this year, and we didn't think the crowds were bad at all. It seemed a little busier on the weekends, but if you fastpassed more popular rides (like Soarin', which was new), it was fine. That is the first time we have ever been in Jan/Feb, so maybe it IS more crowded relative to years past, but we thought the weather, crowds etc were great...so great, we're going again the same time next year!

We also went last week of JAN/first week of FEB 2006 and thought the crowd level was as we expected - light. The only fastpass we had to use all week was for Jungle Cruise at MK. Weekends were definitely busier, but I think that's the norm. It was only slightly less crowded when we went first week of FEB 2002.

We're planning to go the same week again in 2007 because we think it's the best time to go!

I was on disney.com fooling around with some dates and when I went to check rates a screen came up stating the site would be down from oct 19- oct 23rd for site upgrades and you would be unable to book on line. I wonder if those updates will open up rooms and add a code for us. I just thought it was kind of strange. I am sure the shut down often for updates but I guess you never know. We can all only hope!!!

I'll keep my fingers crossed but I know they've been having problems with the new reservation system. I called (again) the other day to update my plans and it took forever. The CM said they are all frustrated since you now have to go into 4 different screens to change anything.

I can't wait for January code or not. A little nervous though, friends talked us into POP and I hear very mixed reviews.

We have stayed at POP twice. This last trip I treated the boys with a stay at AKL. They loved the resort but requested the next time we stay at POP. I love AKL & would stay there all the time, but the boys feel it is more Disney at POP, so ds & I will be staying here in Jan. It is a nice resort, foodcourt has a great selection, & the pools aren't to bad either. I think anywhere you stay you can have a bad experience. Hope you enjoy your stay!

On the Disney website it has an offer of 6nights/7days at a Value for $1600. If you read the *astrek* it includes dates for 1/1/07-2/14/07 and 4/15/07-12/19/07. Is this a good deal? I can't seem to get it to allow me to check reservations for January 07, can anybody else.

It's not really a special at all...just typical packages you can get during non peak times. Value resort, base tickets, no dining...

It really depends on what you preps are... We tried POP for the 1st time and had great experiences... we even went POP LUCK no request no pref'd room but we ended up in a nice location bldg 6 "the eight track Bldg as what the regs called it and if youy get the one behind... it was a lake view and really quiet. And the talk about walking to the foodcourt.. phew! There's no long walk like they have said... walking to EPCOT from aisle 11 parking is even farther !

You qwill have a great time ! and they have 4 pools and pop jets!

i am booked for a magic yur way value resort with dining packages in third week of jan 07 ($2194 but waiting on the code to adjust)

if i am driving down should i book everything seperate? would that save $?

Well, you can't book the dining unless you have a package. You still should keep the package though. When the codes come out, hopefully you will be able to get a lower rate and maybe "free" hopper and waterpark plus option.

What are your dates? How many people are with you?
