Jan. 18 2009 Wonder - who's cruising?

Dana, thanks for organizing the FE exchange! I've got some shopping to do! And we just might have the lamest FE aboard -- we don't even have one yet! I'm off to the dollar store tomorrow to see if I can find a shoe holder 'thingie.'

And to recap, there's an informal plan for a 3:00 to 3:30 PM Sunday afternoon (debarkation day) meet and greet at the Promenade lounge on Deck 3.

Anyone going to be at the World this Saturday? We're going to be hanging around Downtown Disney and Port Orleans resorts and will be catching the Yehaa Bob show that night (at Riverside). Join us if you wish! PM me for my cell info and we'll try to hook up!

Isn't it embarkation day? :)

We LOVE Bob! We live in the Orlando area and went down to see him a couple weeks ago. "Do we have anyone else here from Northern Virginia?" :rotfl: :rotfl:

yup sisters. 24 and 28 room 1047

So... I am so sorry, but still a bit confused. I make something and leave it at someones door? Stuff for the kids? Or just randomn stuff? Does anyone have any ideas for me?
Sorry! You need to hang something outside your door, bag, a made FE or something. Outside your stateroom door is a Fish (see this picture for example
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=29507924&postcount=523
Hence the reason it's called a fish extender.

Anywho, you just need something to hang from the fish to hold goodies or notes that are delivered. :)

You can buy something (dollar store anyone! :) ) like magnets from your home state or make something. The sky is the limit. It's your choice to leave something either (a) for just the state room (ie one gift) or (b) mulitiple gifts. Whatever floats your boat.. :rotfl2: Here are some from the boards of pervious gifts:

Does that help? PM me if you need some help or suggestions :)

Kids clothes are laid out, to be sorted what makes the cut. My clothes come next. That is, after I watch Lost tonight. Recap of last season's finale. Ugh, the Season 5 premiere is next Wed, our last night on the ship. I'll set it up to tape here at home, but it's gonna kill me to have to wait a week for it!
Same here. Kids suitcase is packed, my plane bag almost packed. Now my clothes time. :)

Didn't watch last night's recap but am bummed missing next week's premire. :( Thank goodness for TiVO!!!

Last post before hitting the road. The bags are sitting by the garage door waiting for my DH to get home with the girls so we can load the car. Mid-terms will be a thing of the past and we can relax and have some fun. YIPPEE!! Snowed here this morning and we are all ready to head south for some warmer weather.

Plan to hit the parks Friday and Saturday. I brought park maps home from my quick trip down last weekend and the girls have a plan of attack. Thankfully we will spend a few more days in the parks after the cruise so we don't have to do it all in two days.

Didn't get out to find a FE so will try to find something once we get to The World. It may be something as simple as a WDW shopping bag. However, I do have goodies for the exchange so at least I accomplished something.

Looking forward to meeting all of you on Sunday!

Bags are mostly packed .... lots of 'stuff' for an 11 day vacation! I'm only working a half day tomorrow, then to rush home and manically finish all the last minute things before heading to the airport for an evening flight to Orlando.

Good luck to you all on your final endeavors, and I'll hopefully see you all on Sunday!

Hi all - Hope you all enjoyed your cruise. We had an absolute wonderful time! We want to thank all of you who left gifts in our FE. The kids were really excited to come back to the stateroom and find something exciting! It added some extra "magic". Thanks again!

"when You Wish Upon A Star" Song Info....

guy singing it and to me - it brings back fond memories of the WDW / DCL trip I just took 01-07-09 (CBR #5126) to 01-15-09 (Wonder #2068) as that sound is also heard just right before a ship announcement is made.
To those of you wanting more info on "that song," just pm me & I don't mind giving you more info on it.

OK......after I received multiple pm requests in the 1st hour of this..well here is the information.

Mr. Cliff Edwards did sing a different version of this song before Mr. Disney came along and asked him to sing it for his movie. And what is compelling about the original version is that it is sung to the tune of a ballroom waltz.
Now, to those of you new to all things Disney, to me this version of "that song" will emotionally move you; especially when you see Cinderella's castle for the first time or stepping foot onto any of Disney's cruise ships for the first time, etc. I have it loaded onto my computer & have it synced up to play whenever I want to look at my WDW / DCL pics. Pretty cool song. Different version of it but again, pretty cool song. :thumbsup2
So, to those of you who would like to buy it, my suggestion is your local "walmart" of some other cd store.

so sad that this trip is over already! it went by way too fast!!! is it time to go again yet??

I too want to say thanks! My girls LOVEd all the gifts and espcially loved the notes and new magnets! Oh and the socks were a huge hit! :) Thanks everyone!!

Hey just got home today... The FE exchange was great. We enjoyed the gifts. And it was a great suprise to find our door decorated, so thanks for that! I hope everyone recieved our gifts! It was fun! I hope everyone had a great time!

We just got home today ....

A fabulous five days at WDW after the cruise, and the weather was perfect! Now, we're back home to snow and forecasted freezing rain tonight.

Great to meet some of you on the cruise. Sorry I couldn't meet everyone. Sounds like everyone had a great time. Dana, I hope Emy's MAW trip was perfect in every way. I saw you and your family during the Pirate night party and it looked like you were all having a great time.

And now, back to reality.

We too have returned back home. 5 days at Disney for us also. Next time I think I'm doing the cruise AFTER Disney World. We are exhausted, but home. Hope everyone had a good cruise. Sorry we weren't around much pre-cruise. Life just got busy and before we knew it it was time to go. We definately had some wonderful memories to take with us.

One special one was we were chosen (how and why we have no clue) to be the/a Magical Family. We still don't know what that is, but the note we received said that our of 2700 ppl sailing we were chosen. Who knows, there could of been 100 "Magical Families" and we just didn't know about eat other. :confused3 Here we thought, a free cruise, an upgraded room. No, we got buttons to wear (which most of the employees had no clue what they meant as they kept asking me what I am celebrating), a few plates of cookies/snacks placed in the room, a couple Minnie Dolls for the girls, arcade passes (which we ended up not even using) and a concierge reception with free alchol (only had a few drinks). Oh, and our own "Magical Host". Maybe we should of made him work harder for his title as we requested nothing extra from him. :confused3

But the best memory might of been winning the crab races on Castaway Cay or seeing how much the girls enjoyed going to their club/lab. I was a little sad it was windy and chilly, but I'm not complaining too much. It was worse at home.

Would love to see some of your favorite pics from the cruise once everyone has completely settled back into the real world. Who knows, we might of ran into some of you and didn't even know it.

for me, the personal highlight was when my son Jonah and I were selected to participate in the Mickey Mania trivia contest, Monday or Tuesday night. We were the Purple Plutos. The audience was allowed to answer questions and give their points to a team and so I "hammed it up" for the audience to get their attention. I guess it worked since we seemed to be the crowd favorites. My wife and other son were elsewhere and missed it all, and I couldn't really videotape it myself. Oh well, I have the memories of it all.

Aw the pics look great. Yesterday when I left Orlando it was about 80 degrees I think... Now I am home in Baltimore to freezing rain and snow. yuck. I don't think we really had a special "magical moment" on the cruise. Our waitor Putu was awesome! But I really think the highlight was the FE exchange. That really added a nice touch to the trip. So I really want to say thanks to everyone. It was amazing coming home to find our door decorated! It was funny because we came in and about 5 minutes later my sister left to go to the infirmary and within that 5 minutes is when our door was decorated and we didn't hear a thing!

I met a few of you and it looked like you had fun. we did, we were tired by the end but we hung in there. I hope the MAW trip was better than you ever dreamed!
