I just learned how to add the ticker... (how fun!! :yay:)
But how do I save this thread and the kids thread so
we can view it easier? .... sorry new to this :confused3

LOL that is fine. You can subscribe to the thread as well as the kids thread. I think it notifies you when there are new posts to any thread you are subscribed to. Hope that helps :)

Just above the very first post on this page is a tab titled "Thread Tools". In the drop down list is a listing for "Subscribe". Click on it and follow the directions until a screen pops up saying you are subscribed.

Have fun.

:welcome: LakeOgirl :welcome:

DH Ken, DW Karla, DS13 Mason, DD11 Morgan and DS7 Liam!

This is a fun group. I'll add you to the cruisers list.

As Bernadette (Sweetlovin') said, make sure Mason and Morgan join the KIDS ONLY thread. My DD13 Sabrina is on there regularly and will be in The Edge.

Have you been on any other Disney Cruises? Do you have any celebrations?

Lise

:welcome: fullerfamily :welcome:

DW Cyndi, DH Chris, DD13 Kayla and DS7 Brandon!

You'll just love your first Disney cruise :cool1:

Here's the link to the KIDS ONLY thread. I'm sure our DD13 Sabrina will be excited to chat with Kayla.

I'll add you to the first post. Do you have any celebrations I can list?

Welcome to our new cruisers :)

We just got back from our anniversary trip to WDW where we did a whole lot of nothing but eat. We have 2 trips in May planned now.

We also signed up for the Tower of Terror 10 Miler in October so we are starting to train for that. Thank goodness for the gym on the boat so we can keep up our mileage.

Is anyone planning on running the Castaway Cay 5k? We are but it will be more of a training run for us.

Where did you stay?! I just got back because I was snowed out, but I only ate at Garden Grove (Friday night) and Cape May (Sat night)

Happy Anniversary :love::love:

I have always wanted to do the Castaway 5k but I have kids that are not interested in it at all. I am planning on checking out the gym on the ship as well. I'm doing Disney right after, so I am not sure if I will be able to keep up after I get off the ship. I've never run a 10 mile race though. You rock for doing it.:thumbsup2

Nevermind: I just read your trip report. I stayed with a group of 25 "Disney Friends" back in 05 in AKV Club Level. We loved it, but it's nice to sit down to finger food and find friends that are walking in or already sitting to chat with. We almost went to Yachtman's Friday night, but had to pass because I spent dinner on the computer figuring out Nico's flight. Garden Grove, I could get away with that a little better. ;)

I enjoyed AKV Club Level. I'm not sure its something I would do every time I stay at my home resort though due to the amount of points it does cost but for things like our anniversary, I find it a great deal.

You probably could have gotten away with that at the Yachtsman. When we were there, there were a few business type tables around on their laptops along with some families letting their children play on iPads to entertain themselves throughout the meal.

I've never run a 10 miler either but I got 7.5 months to train for it so I think I should be ok.

You will do great :) I have thought about running the marathon and have friends that run it every year. But I have been there while it is going on and the amount of people scares me. There are so many people, really close together, and no one smells good.

I think the princess one is a little more spread out and you can stop along the way to take pictures. I think that is a little more appealing. One day, I am going to try to do it. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone. Does anyone know a shuttle service besides Disney that will bring you from the airport or a hotel to Port Canaveral? Prices or a web site? Thank you

We rent a car at the Orlando airport and return it to Port Canaveral. The rental car places provide a free shuttle to the ship. This is cost effective and also allows for any errands and of course a stop at the liquor store. (Disney is the only line I'm aware of that allows passengers to bring beer/wine/alcohol aboard - some rules apply :drinking1)

So where shall we plan out Meet and Greet?

We are flying in a day early because I am too afraid to miss the boat. :worried: I have found the hotels at the Cape offer round trip transportation to the airports and the boats with reasonable rates. You can purchase private and shared shuttles depending on your priorities. I have seen talk about cruisers being frustrated with slow shuttles to the cruise terminal though.

Here are the Radisson rates:

Orlando International Airport (MCO) Transportation Pricing:
1 Person: $33.00 USD Flat Fee, One Way
2 Persons $50.00 USD Flat Fee, One Way
Each additional person: $10.00 USD Flat Fee, One Way
Lincoln Town Car (max 2 people): $105.00 USD Flat Fee, One Way

Renting a car can be cheaper but you will have to deal with the and pickup/return .

This was one of my big issues early on in booking this cruise. Hope this helps. :)

I live in ATL so I will make the flight no later than 8:30am and make sure I have plenty of time that day to come in.

I prefer my own town car because I feel more comfortable that way. I am still researching the least expensive town cars with good reviews. The best ones seem to be more expensive. I guess there are times you get what you pay for.

I swear I used one that was inexpensive, showed up on time, and was excellent. I just keep looking through my emails and I can't find the company. :confused3

So where shall we plan out Meet and Greet?

Here's a photo of our DISgroup on our last cruise

That's a lot of people!

Obviously having not cruised before I have no idea where to meet, will leave it to you experts!

I think that is the perfect out of the way spot to meet up! When are we meeting up?

My DISgroup photo is from our Meet and Greet on Wonder. We met in the Promenade Lounge at 3:00 pm. We've cruised on the two original ships few times (Magic 4, Wonder 1), but this is our first on one of the new ones. I need someone with experience on Fantasy/Dream to help pick the right spot. Or I can go ask on another thread that already has it figured out. :cool1:

It was a good group... we had 52 cruisers posting on our thread. Most had one cabin and I'd say an average of 3 people, so that about 150 people represented.

The FE Group was 30 cabins with 84 individuals (56 adults, 28 kids).

I've been buying and stashing away outfits, dresses and little gifts for my daughter when I see a sale. If I buy any more I'm going to need a whole separate suitcase just for those. Not to mention FE gifts. Somebody stop me!
