I count 19 DIScabins with 52+ cruisers... 32 adults, 15 DD and 3 DS. (plus a few that haven't shared details yet)

500 days wow I can't wait, wow that's a lot of people and we are still so far away

Our first cruise Oc my older daughter was so shy she never left our side. This last time she had so much fun in the edge. We were able to do adult stuff, we had so much fun.

That is my youngest. Samantha won't leave my side ever. I am taking her on the Transatlantic and there is a lot moms and kids on that cruise. Anyway, she has a little girl that is 9, so Sam and I are going to sit with them. She said her daughter isn't shy at all. Hopefully, Sam and her get along. I've never done any of the adult activities because I have always had Sam right by me.

Wow, I can't imagine I'm in bed by 9 pm at the latest. And Zoe my 8yr old has a 8 pm bed time. What time do your kids go to sleep of you don't mind me asking.

Julie and Sam (8 and 10) are brushing their teeth at 8 and in bed no later than 8:30. Nico (12) is in a different position because he trains for soccer 3-4 hours a day 5 days a week 45 minutes away. Training just changed to 6 and ends at 9, during the week and weekends are 9am-1pm. So, he doesn't even eat dinner until 9:30-10pm. I try to get to bed by 11-11:30pm each night.

That is crazy!! I have a tendency to overshare:lmao:

So far, it is looking more and more like a "girl cruise" (Sorry, I know Chuck will be there, but so far, that is a lot of girls. Maybe because more woman happen to be on these boards rather than men.

Sooo..... when are we going to cut this group off?

I didn't think the boat would be sold out. My kids go back to school the first week of August, but I forget that others are still on summer break. I think the DC area was in school the last week of Aug or the Tuesday after labor day:confused3

It most likely won't be sold out. Probably more like 75 to 80% full on cabins.

It just seems like we have a good amount right now.

Sabrina has has a 9 pm bedtime school nights and 11pm on weekends. It's been the same for a number of years. I'm up 'til midnight most nights.

We just got home from Volleyball... dinner soon (8 o'clock).

So far from what I can tell, we have 14 men and 20 women. I think TECJPM's name is John, but I'm not sure who else is might be cruising along.

We won't cut the DISgroup. The more the better to share DCL tips, ideas for excursions and meet people from around the world. (And get the kids connected)

It's the FE we might need to split into more than one later on. Not everyone on the our cruise post is on the FE. We only have 11-12 cabins on the FE... so far.

Our last cruise the FE had 30 cabins and 84 cruisers (56 adults, 28 kids). It was fun!

There are quite a few more daughters than sons so far as well.

Oh, I didn't mean to cut off the Dis group! Lol... I meant the FE.... I thought that meant we had 19 cabins already on the FE!

Just booked the Animal Behavior class for Julie Sept 3rd. We are headed to Animal Kingdom to observe the animals. So I guess I am headed to WDW labor day weekend.

I'm so excited, I had to share.:cool1: I think this class will be awesome

What state do you live in? Just like nico my daughter Oc this spring was in 3 different soccer teams. And they were doing karate. It was too much. We are also going down to Disney and universal on sept 6-9

That is so cool!! We are just outside of Atlanta. Nico and Julie take Kung Fu. Nico was traveling with soccer when he was 9. But by the end of the 2nd year of that, we found a guy that trains kids to "go as far as they can" getting scouting opportunities for oversea teams and such. We stopped all the traveling and games. He only trains now, because if he wants to go overseas, he needs to train as they do.

I had to research and I am still a "student of the game" because I didn't know the best way to train and the best ways to go about getting him to his goal. Part of the reason he now home schools is because the home work proved too much with his traveling and teams. Now with his training, there is still no way he could keep up a middle school schedule. The bus here doesn't get home until 5pm. He would have to jump in the car to get to soccer and then at 10 be starting homework. No way, that is too much.

I also noticed that Sam and Julie were being dragged to and from games..it was crazy and unfair. This works so much better. Then I watched Nico play against his old teammates, the ones that have been to ODP and trained with England teams, Nico was amazing. There was no gap at all between these kids skills and Nicos. (There was before he left the team. Those kids were much more skilled initially.)

Are your kids taking a class at Disney?

Mommy Rant:

I hate these stupid "state" test that these kids have to take. For the record, I grew up in the DC area and we never had these tests. We did have cumulative exams from 3rd grade on, which I remember parents saying in 3rd grade was a bit much. Never did we have these standard state tests. If you are unfamiliar with these, this is a test given by the state to every child in school. The kids must pass this test in order to be promoted.

A child that has straight A's throughout the year having an "off" day will not be promoted if they are below in any of the 5 subject areas. Same is true for a child that fails all year. The child will be promoted to the next grade level if they pass this test.

What I just found out (for extra fun) my kids are being given pre tests in all the subjects throughout the weeks proceeding this big state test. The "pretests" are counting towards their overall grades. For example, Julie got a 90% on CRCT reading practice and it showed as a counted grade in her regular schooling. Social Studies, Science, and so on are all being graded for pre tests and graded as a part of their curriculum. It has nothing to do with the subjects they are learning at this point and they still have their regular tests and quizzes on the material being taught at the time.

It's bad enough that a failing student can pass through the grade by passing the test and a straight A student will be held back if they have a bad test day, but to have that affect their school grades is pathetic.

Rant over..

I agree I also hate hate these test. Zoe my youngest is also in 3rd grade. She just finished the FCATS yesterday. I was so mad, in one month Zoe learned mult/div and fractions and geometry. They just kept moving her along even if she hadnt mastered a part.
