James and the Giant Peach

My oldest DD, just sent me a link to a James and the Giant peach clip on Youtube (she said it reminded her of her childhood ), I had no idea that it was a Walt Disney version of the movie.

Does anyone else remember this movie?

I've got it on DVD but haven't watched it years. A lot of the song are on my Disney CDs too.

I think we only have it in a Video version somewhere - may have to lookout for the DVD for her for Christmas.

that is ds15's favourite movie i brought him the book from the post office last year he told me he was a bit old for it now then the next day said thanks i really enjoyed reading that i think we wore out 3 copies of it on video :rofl2:

That is so sweet.

I wonder what other Roald Dahl stories Disney has the rights too.

Definitely one of my favourite films. I had it on VHS but managed to find it for $12 at Target during their mid year toy sale!

In terms of other Dahl films, I know Fantastic Mr Fox was done by 20th Century Fox and the new version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was Warner Bros. The Witches scared the heck out of me when I first saw it. Just googled it and apparently it was Jim Henson's last film he worked on before his death.
