Does anybody have any short cuts, or tips, I joined TourGuide Mike's site a couple of months ago, and still haven't quite figured it all out. We are going to be there at a really busy time, so all the help I can get is appreciated. I have so far planned which days we are going where.....(I think...unless I change it......again) although I have pretty much followed Mike's advice on that, now I am trying to figure out how to tour each park...and that is where I hit stumbling blocks...we leave in less than four weeks! Yikes...

How is the bus transportation for AKL? I really haven't read anything about it? I have no doubt there is something in this thread, though.
But, are there a lot of stops? Does anyone have any very general time estimations of how often they run? How long it takes to get to MK? Epcot? TTC? OR can you point me in the direction to find this information?

Bus transport is great at AKL. The buses run every 15-20 minutes, which is also about the travel time to and from MK, Epcot, and Disney/MGM.

The buses are express to MK, Epcot and AK, and make only one stop at one of the water parks on the way to Disney/MGM.

You'll love it!

AKL has awesome bus service! The best of any resort I have stayed at. I would say the trips are as follows:

Mk~20 minutes
Epcot~15 minutes
MGM Studios/BB ~AK-BB 8 min BB-MGM 6min
AK~5 minutes
DTD/TL~ 15 minutes

Sometimes later at night or late in the day I have been on AKL busses where they also pick up people that need to get back to AK for thier cars as well which maybe adds about 5 minutes on to any trip. It has only happend a handful of times to me though.

Since we are talking buses..how is the wait time for a bus back to AKL after the parks close? Just wondering it we plan on going to dinner in Epcot if it would be better to drive our car.

Topic for the day is bus service I see. On that topic I have a question. My DH and myself are going during the holidays this year. We are going after Thanksgiving and leaving before the middle of December.

Do we need to get a car rental? What should be expected as far as bus service and crowds during this time? Does anyone have information from last year? My DH will be using a ECV. I may also be using one as having leg surgery later this year.

What is everyones thoughts?

Well you're not alone! I kept getting the "server is busy" message while trying to reply to your post. This is very annoying and has been happening the past few days. Glad to see it's not just me, although I wish it wasn't happening at all.

wendypooh Did you ever talk to Private Dining? Are you thinking about doing a dinner? I can't decide what to do if I want to do a dinner or sometype of dessert(s) for us to enjoy. BTW did you know we are in Single digits(lol only 96 more day for me!)?

Bus service is fantastic! Angel, I think it might even be easier for you to use the buses than to try to mess with all that equipment and a rental. Drive on, belt up, drive off!

Wendy, I hope you and your family start to feel better! Having the flu is very unpleasant, especially when everyone in the house gets it.

I am happy to hear that WDW bus service to and from AKL is so good. We did Using ME this trip so it will be our first without a car and I was a little bit leary as the bus service to/from the Poly leaves a lot to be desired.
Has anyone used ME, how was it and how long did it take to get to AKL from the airport? I think I have read that we will need to be ready to go 3 hours before our flight home, is this so? Thanks for any info!
