We leave on Thursday, and will arrive at the Nick Hotel on Friday. Then we check into AKV on Saturday the 5th and stay until Friday, the 11th.

...we passed the Nick hotel on the way from the airport to WDW - looks awesome, although it WAS almost 3AM!!! [lo-o-o-o-ong story....]

We saw it, off the highway on Magical Express to WDW, back in '06.

Since then, the kids have HOUNDED us to stay there...which is why we booked it for this trip. It'll make it easy for my wife to keep them occupied while I pass into a coma after the 20 hour "straight shot" drive.

We stayed there "while" they were still converting it several years ago. Even then, it was fantastic!

...our flight was delayed for over 5 hours, so we sat at the Atlantic City airport for over 6 hours.....

Gearing up for our trip.....loading the rest of the car tonight. The kids are still COMPLETELY clueless and that's with 1/2 our luggage already loaded into the van.

Hey guys, It's been a long time since I've been on The Dis boards. I need lots of info on AKL during Christmas time....never stayed there before or even been to Disney during Christmas...very excited.

Kimmar: I hear it's extremely busy during this time of year, how was it?

We are booked AKL pool view w/a code for next month. Is there a particular request for which trail to stay on? Would Zebra Trail or Giraffe Trail be better? Any suggestions are welcome!

...this is the second time that we've spent Christmas at WDW. Back in 1999 the weather was quite cold - this time, it was very warm every day! Although the weather this time out WAS wonderful, I think that a result of it was that it brought out many more Floridians to the parks....the parks were TOO CROWDED, especially if you are trying to do them 'commando style' [which my DH is famous for ]...

I would suggest Zebra Trail, close to lobby. This is where we stayed recently. If you get Zebra trail you can look out at the animals on the other side of the hallway! I'd suggest close to lobby because the rooms out on the end of the trail are a long walk - tough for late nights or after a long day at the park.
