:) Ok its with Adventures by Disney . So i am not completely away from the mouse:goodvibes :rotfl:

No kidding? I got the book and the dvd in the mail because I saw they have trips to Ireland, which is #1 on that list I mentioned, but I have not had a chance to check it out yet. I will have to do that this weekend for sure! If there isn't a thread for "Adventures by Disney", you should start one!:thumbsup2

There is a thread for Adventures on the Dis .Disney Kevin from DreamsUnlimited started one after some of us wanted one.:goodvibes

Wow only 4 months to go!:goodvibes
I heading to Wdw in December although not Akl yet. I will be going to Italy
with ABD in September so a stay at the Lodge is out of question now. Would like to go back there though. Its the Movies resort this time lol.:)

You will absolutely love Italia - we spent 3 weeks there last summer - so no WDW last year - but we did do a two night stopover at DLP - had to get that disney fix in somehow lol

Food For Thought - don't you think :thumbsup2

When we made our original reservations for June at AKL (savannah view, standard room), we requested non-smoking (guaranteed-asthma), arusha savannah view, highest floor possible.

Later, on learning of the construction, I called back and changed them to non-smoking (guaranteed-asthma), zebra trail, 2nd or 3rd floor.

Then I called back this morning to confirm everything since we leave in a couple of weeks. I asked her to read my requests back to me so I could verify them and all it said was zebra trail, highest floor possible.

Moral of the story, if you've altered your requests, call back later and verify that they actually made the change in their system.

On another note: This was the second ressie on a split-stay for this trip. I noticed that the non-smoking request was eliminated from the system on both of my ressies. I know this must be because all rooms are now non-smoking, but I had hoped the notation would still be there so they would know to not place us in a room that was recently a smoking room. Probably not a big deal, though, since there were so few smoking rooms to begin with, but I thought this was worth noting for anyone with medical issues since it happened to both of my reservations.

Here are a few pics of our room at AKL. You can see the new barn being built in the background of the 2nd picture. Dispite our room being at the back end of two of the savannahs, we did see animals throughout the day everyday and other than weekdays when construction work was being done, it was very quiet and peacful on our balcony.

Thanks! I am getting so excited for my first AKL experience. We usually stay at GF so I feel like I am a brat about where we stay. I am turning 40 the night we are there so I am living on the edge and trying something new! We will be there the nights of June 3rd and 4th and then if we like it we can stay there again in the Fall.

This may be a weird question, but how big are the fridges at AKL? We plan on eating breakfast out of the room every morning, so I just want to know what we'll be able to fit in there.:)

The one is our room was dorm size - not the little square cubes, but about twice that size. Lots of room for breakfast supplies.

That is so funny. I had to research what a people pen was! I was starting to get creaped out a little bit.:rotfl2: I thought maybe that's where naughty CM's were maybe held!:rotfl2:

So, anybody else going to be at AKL between Jan 5th and Jan 11th?

We called yesterday to book our AKV dates, so we'll be "at the lodge" during that time frame.

Now, all that's left is the planning, the adr booking, the planning, the buying of the trip supplies, the planning, the buying of the tickets, the planning, the packing, the planning, the waiting, and...oh, did I mention the planning?

:)

Thanks for the info. :thumbsup2 . Ya gotta know these things before you switch resorts. :)

We'll be there then too!

My ticker says 16 days, but it's really 14. We're leaving on the 31st. I'm getting so excited!
