We're heading there next month for 5 days. I can't wait!!!

I'm glad everyone liked the pictures. I'm afraid I can't take the credit though. My husband (we'll call him Mr. Koobs) is the photographer around here. Can he take your wedding pictures BensMom? I'll come along to hold the equipment.

I loved waking up early just to stand on the balcony and watch my pelicans wake up.

Thanks once again. I wasn't even aware there was a stream on the Arusha savannah. I had requested Zebra Trail on our reservation, but now I want the Kudu Trail where you were!

Mrs Koobs -- when were you there? How was the construction?? We're heading to AKL on Jan 8th.

They all made it!!

I spoke to Cass tonight and they made it just fine yesterday. They got a very kind customs agent in Toronto and after a few nervous moments and telling her that they were going to Disney, they let Louise board.

I had a feeling it would all work out for them.

Ahhhh..if I was only there with them . They are actually in the exact same room that we were in when we went with them a couple of years ago

The pool pics look like it was veryyyyy chilly that day! I'm guessing they were taken around sunrise as well?

jaysbabe, we just got back last week (has it been a week already?). We were there from Nov 30th to Dec 7th.

brookelizabeth, those pool pictures were taken on the 7th. They were taken in the early morning and it may have been a little chilly but not terribly so. I think I was just wearing a t shirt with no jacket or sweater.

They all made it!!

Back from AKl. We were actually there from 12/7 thru 12/12. Came back and was sick with a terrible sinus infection, so haven't been doing too much. Anyway we absolutely loved the AKL. We were on the Sunset Savannah, Kudu Trail. room 4268. We were across from the pens that hold the animals at night, so every morning we got to see them open the gates and all the animals stroll out to the savannah. We saw giraffe, ankole cattle, ostriches, some little hog like creatures that were so funny chasing each other around. We also saw bongos and another deer like animal that I couldn't figure out what they were. I was very pleased with our room's location; we were not really too far from anything. The bus service was absolutley unreal. The longest we waited for a bus to any of the parks was 3 minutes ( I timed it!) And coming back tlhe only time we had to stand was coming back from AK one day there was a back up because it took a very long time to load someone's wheelchair onto the bus. The longest wait at the resort was for the Downtown Disney Bus. We waited about 15 min. for that. If I can figure out how to post pictures I'll try to get some up.

Now we're counting down till next year at WL!

Hey all! Anyone hear anything about the DVC construction - mainly is it in full force and what side of the Savannah are they working on. Can't wait to get back down to our fav place Thanks for any help

We just got back last night so this'll be a quick post.

We had a great time. Everything at AKL was wonderful. Perhaps I'm dreaming, and if so, I'd like to stay that way. We were in 3505 Zebra trail, exactly where we requested-near elevators for DF and DM, and on Boma side.

Even though it was quick trip with planned events, we did do some activities at the lodge. DS5 loved every thing!

Can't wait to go back.

Oh and we met Cass! She even us! (((((Thank you Cass)))))

Hope everyone there or going has as wonderful a time as we did.

Just booked a quick first trip to the AKL for 2/5-2/8 pool view, tell me about the pool view rooms, they did not have any savannah rooms, and reservation agent told me they only had 3 rooms left at AKL for those days. Anyway, we just returned from 9 day stay at WL on 12/2 and I can't believe i booked another trip so soon, but got really cheap airfare. We ate at Boma during our nov/dec trip, but did not look around much. we did fall in love with WL during trip. any pics of pool view to post. thanks
