Mine's in Experimental Psychology. I'm not a Clinician but a Social Psychologist who studies the crazy things NORMAL people do (like spend hours on this board :teeth:

:lmao: That would be a great study! I agree with TiggerAllie! What exactly defines 'normal' anyway?

I love studying the crazy things 'normal' people do as well-though my degree is in City Planning. One of my people theories is that we all have obsessive things. Mine is germs/hand washing-it's not so bad that it takes over my world, but I am a little more compulsive there than most. My old roommate used to tease me about it, then I found her sorting her socks one day after doing her laundry. It takes her an HOUR to sort socks because she is so particular about the white ones matching and she claims she can tell if one sock has been worn more than the other, and it bugs her if one appears a tad more stained on the bottom than the other.

So yep, I think we all have a special area. :teeth:

Yay! I love the weather too! Where do you go for reliable forecasts?

Although I'm a subscriber to "Accuweather Pro" for their medium-range and long-term forecasts (which are the best of a mediocre bunch), for 1 to 5 days out the best place BY FAR is the good old National Weather Service. Here's the link to the Disney forecast (oh-oh, I don't think I'm supposed to do this am I?)
http://www.srh.noaa.gov/forecast/Ma...blat=28.070417&smap=1&mp=1&map.x=37&map.y=162

(PS- Just heard an un-December-like rumble of thunder here in upstate NY, after a day near 70. Reality approaches!)

CLEARLY you need to develop a research proposal around DISboard-ers! Then you could get paid to read the boards all day... and maybe go down to Disney for some interviews! ;)

Oh, I do wish I could say with a straight face "...but that's what I AM doing!". But it's a great idea...

Most social psychologists like me push the boundaries of "normal" VERY far ("people who do crazy things usually aren't crazy")...and I'm comfortable with that. When our "special" behaviors make us unable to function reasonably well in the ugly old real world , then we probably "miss the cut" and we have a disorder  . I know all of us DISers function extremely well in that wonderful "Disney" world...if only we could live there all the time :sunny:

Absolutely...for example, I've never met a Ph.D. who didn't have some "OC"' tendencies relating to their teaching or research. Then there are those who have so many OC's it's a "D" :)

You have me all figured out.

 I have had a blast reading through this thread. It's making it really had to wait for when I leave. I'll be heading back to the AKL in 38 days (but whose counting? :teeth: ) My dh, dd and I stayed concierge in 2003 and had the most magical trip I could have even imagined. Well, since we last went we added to the family and she is now 2. With all the chaos a new child brings my oldest dd has been incredible. She is an amazing kid anyway but she's been so patient with the time that a new baby takes. So this trip is special. This is a Madie/Mommy trip. Just the two of us. We will be spending a week at the AKL (non-concierge this time :guilty: ) and I cannot wait.

I just wanted to jump in and introduce myself. So "Hi!"

..."JAMBO" and :welcome: to the 'kraal'!!!

Any news of the DVC construction yet? We had such a wonderful trip a few weeks ago my family is considering AKL despite the construction going on in 2008 for our grand gathering. I want to stay CL again or may even consider renting one of those new villas. Time to plan the next trip already. Whooo Hooo!!!!

I LOVED the AKL light fixtures-I took a picture of all the different ones. Here are the ones by the elevator:

I have a TON more of the lodge...but I won't hog up all the space.
