I've been checking obsessively lately, hoping to get a savannah view room on Jan 12th, and today I finally got it! I am SO excited!

Going Feb. 19-23, 2007, first time staying at AKL we have a pool view hoping to get upgraded :rotfl:

I have failed MISERABLY!
Okay, I didn't get over to AKL! My son dragged me (kicking and screaming, yeah, right) over to EPCOT so he could take the plastics tour. Yep, true story. Okay, he may talk us into bringing him to Simba's tomorrow night, in which case, we will just have to eat at Jiko (small violins, please) instead of Artist Point. Darn! If this happens, I promise, I will BRING THE CAMERA! It's gotta be up, don't y'all think?

Anyway, about Celebration, yes, it is a beautiful town, and it has a tremendous K-8 elementary school, which is why we moved here. Ain't the cheapest place to live, and it's had its share of growing pains, but it's pretty neat to live here. Nope, I never let its proximity to Disney sway me either! :rotfl2: ;)

...at least you have seen the error of your ways.... :teeth: (...next time, come bearing pix, and all will be forgiven.... ;) )

Just stopping in. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and a stressfree Black Friday. Can't wait to see some Christmas pics from AKl before I leave in 12 days and 19 hours!!!(I would tell you the minutes and seconds, too but that might be considered obsessive, don't you think? )

I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Okay, will bring camera. The parks are shaping up quite nicely.

Okay, I was asked "Jiko" or "Artist Point." That's a toughy.
First, let me point out Artist Point is underrated. It's a fabulous restaurant. My two favs are the Buffalo and, of course, the planked salmon. I like the wine selection here better than Jiko, only because my Americanized taste has more favored the wines of the Northwest (Kiona Reserve cabernet - yummy) versus South Africa, but I'm working on it. However, there is nothing I don't like at Jiko. The short ribs and the chicken are to die for! Sitting at the "cooking place" is lots of fun. Both restaurants were headed up (and Jiko currently) by Annette Grechi Gray, who is very talented.

BensMom-how awesome that you live in Celebration... :woohoo: I've read several articles about it and I'm really into architecture and city/urban planning...I think it is phenomomenal-(I'd want to live there if I lived in Florida...and its proximity to WDW had absolutely nothing to do with my feelings... ;) party:

brookelizabeth-I hope your trip to Israel was fabulous-am enjoying your trip report on DW...

:yay: I'm not thte only city/urban planning freak on here?!?! WOW! That doesn't happen very often! ;) I studied urban planning in college and Celebration was one we spent some time on, while I've never been there, I've seen MANYYYYYY slides and ariel views and all sorts of stuff. Our next trip to WDW, DH said we will go visit Celebration-he knows I would just LOVE it!!

My trip to Israel was fabulous!! I'm still organizing everything and all the pictures---we did so much, it's hard to remember everything. It was incredible though-just incredible.

Excited about my solo trip there in January :D

Cool! I always imagine you can get so much more seen and done when you are on your own.

I haven't tried Jiko yet, but we did Artists Point on our Disneymoon and it was soooooooooooooooooo wonderful! I had the Buffalo-my mouth waters just thinking about it. And the Coffee Two Ways Dessert-holy smokes! Creme Brule and Coffee in ONE!!!! We gotta try Jiko on our return trip too though, I hear so many wonderful things about it...

Here are a few pics from our Sunrise Safari and our towel animals from Mousekeeping.

The morning or our safari a cold front came through and the lobby windows got all steamed up. We thought it looked cool and took some pics.

Thanks for looking... Liz

The safari pictures are beautiful, your son was loving those giraffes :)

The photos of the lobby windows are cool, I have never seen anything like that before.

What GREAT pics! I have never seen THE Window like that before! Of course, I have always wanted to do the Sunrise Safari. The animals are very active that time of morning, it appears. We have noticed that, in taking some of the earlier KiliSafari rides in this cool weather, the animals are more animated and moving about; whereas, in the heat of the summer, they are hardly around.

We especially loved those white terrycloth animals at the end of the pics! The last time we had a spotting like that was on the Disney Magic!

Wa-a-a-a-y cool pix - 'specially THIS one:
