...won't be posting for a few days...my grandmother passed away this morning..... :guilty:

Oh Kimmar,
I so sorry to hear the news. My prayers are with you!

Kim,

I'm so sorry to hear the news of your grandmother's passing. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Kathy

Wallyb,

I'll try to answer two of your questions:

The 5th and 6th floors of the AKL have deluxe rooms. Deluxe rooms can also be used as concierge rooms. The 6th floor rooms are all concierge rooms because the lounge is located there. You need an key (card) to gain access to the 6th floor. The lounge overlooks the lobby. There are no trails on this floor, so there are very few rooms.

On the left-hand side of the lobby beyond the check-in desk, there is an area, which I think is called the Sunset Lounge (seating area with African artifacts). There is a deck outside the lounge where you can watch the sunset and set up tripods for picture taking.

I hope this helps.

Kathy

Kimmar I am so sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your family.

Kimmar I am so sorry to hear this :grouphug:

...off-topic, but:

Prayers needed:

My mom just called [from Puerto Rico] to tell me tht she has just come back from the hospital....yesterday, after my 91-y-o 'abuelita' ("lil' grandma") had showered and gotten dressed, she fell and [maybe] fractured her 2nd and 3rd cervical vertabrae(?)....it took almost an hour and a half for the ambulance to arrive! They whisked her to the hospital in Aguadilla, about 20 minutes away, and upon further testing, discovered that she MAY have had 1 or 2 heart attacks and that she has [possibly] an enlarged heart]....she was helicoptered to Rio Piedras (suburb of San Juan), where she is undergoing a battery of tests, but they must stabilize her heart before they can even work on her spine....I feel so helpless, being 1700 miles away, and my mom is an only child, so she has no siblings or father (my grandfather passed away over 10 years ago) to help her..... :guilty:

Kimmar, I said this on the other thread, but I wanted to be sure you know I'm praying too... :grouphug:

Kimmar sorry to hear about ur lil grandmother. Consider that hug for you and a return hug, the one u gave me over at the prayer thread.

On the lighter side of news, DH called this morning. He's coming home this wed!

:cool1: Awesome!!!!

Oh Kimmar...I'm sorry to hear about your grandma. I haven't been able to read the thread for a few days, so I didn't read this until after I posted that I am praying...but your new report doesn't change that. I'll be praying for comfort for your whole family.

We'll have to make sure to take care of the thread for ya...

:grouphug:

The other day my fiance and I got a little package from Disney that included our luggage tags, very cool!!!

Everytime we get something from Disney you'd think I was winning the lottery, I usually shout "DISNEY MAIL!!!!" and rip open the envelope before my fiance can even respond....

Kimmar...Sorry to hear the news. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. :grouphug:

Brookelizabeth...Congrats on your upcoming wedding. Your AKL honeymoon will be great!

Sorry to hear about your Grandmother, Kimmar. You and your family are in my prayers. God Bless.

On a lighter note...
I got a chuckle out of your last post, brookelizabeth. I do the same thing when I get Disney mail. I'm on the 11 day countdown and I can hardly think of anything else!

BROOKELIZABETH.....
Have I started packing????? Ha! Actually, I started my "little pile" more than a month ago!!

I'm going to need another suitcase if I don't stop buying stuff to take along! I'm meeting my friend and her 2 kids who are flying in from Brazil. I keep picking up things to give to the kids; especially Halloween stuff, since they are just starting to celebrate Halloween down there and we're going to MNSSHP. Stuff like Halloween Pez dispensers, flashlights that project pumpkins and ghosts, Russell Stover chocolate marshmallow pumpkins and Halloween "Peeps". (They don't have marshmallows in Brazil.) For my friend, it's blueberry muffin mix and Margarita stuff (no blueberries or margaritas down there either :sad2: Bummer!) Maybe I should tell HER to bring an extra suitcase!

So YES, I am barely able to contain myself counting down the days!!!!
:woohoo: :Pinkbounc  :cheer2: :dance3: :yay: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :bounce: :yay: :goodvibes :cool1: :sunny: :cheer2: :) :woohoo: :hourglass

Good Luck with the final wedding plans! :bride:

No 'ritas in Brazil??? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3
What are they thinking??? :rotfl2:

Viki - yup, no 'rita's. They have their own version, the "National drink" of Brazil if you will. It's called a caipirhina. It's made by crushing limes and sugar in a short glass, adding cachaca (sugar cane alcohol) or sometimes they use rum) and crushed ice. Sip slowly, cuz, boy, do they know your socks off!
