If you check out my trip report, I posted a picture of the map with these rooms marked-- you can tell where the back corner rooms are, where you don't want to be. I think it's X38even and X34odd rooms. (If you see the AKL room map, you'll figure out what I mean.)

I'm enjoying your trip report - thanks! You actually "booked" a savannah view and that's where they put you???? Yikes! I wouldn't want 4382 as a "free" upgrade!!

I'm not an expert but studied up on AKL concierge before we booked it. From what I understand (but I could be wrong!), the Ostrich and Giraffe Trails on the 5th floor do not have deluxe rooms. The Kudu and Zebra Trails have the deluxe rooms. I'm not sure about the rooms around the lobby. Anyone else know?

...Kudu and Zebra Trails are the only ones with deluxe rooms....

We spent the week of Thanksgiving at WDW in 1998 and 2000. In 1998 it was just like summer--shorts and swimming. In 2000, most of trip we wore jeans and jackets. We went to WDW in Dec. 2001 and 2002. In 2001, the temperature was in the eighties. In 2002, the first few days were cooler, then it warmed up. In Florida, you can expect any kind of weather.

Just read a thread stating that CL guests were put on the first floor and the construction has already begun. I am so ready to freak out. Can I really get stuck on the first level when I booked CL I thought only floors 5 and 6 prior to construction. But I guess anything can happen. Has anyone else herd that contruction has begun??

I do know for a fact that many of the 5th floor rooms are blocked out and that some level of construction has begun. I didn't see or hear any myself, but I'm sure it's true. I had a great CM give me an extensive tour, and he was able to tell us THAT much.

He was so used to keeping it a secret, he was having trouble talking about it, even though the day before we got the whole rundown from DVC.

I think it would be horrible to have paid for CL and not get AT LEAST a 5th floor room. I don't like the way 5th floorers have to travel to get to the lounge. Just my opinion.

Do you mean blocked out NOW or just blocked out for new reservations at later dates. I'm getting worried too. I thought current construction was supposed to be only at the ends of one of the trails.
