Has anyone been given a prize at AKL for the year of a million dreams yet? Upgrade or other that was announced as a gift/prize. Just curious.

I forgot to mention, the concierge folks, animal tenders, and the Jiko folks all told us that the sunset safari is going to be opened up to the entire resort soon and the price is going to be $220 per person. They are going to offer the experience seven days a week. Interesting. I hope they don't change the sunrise safari.

Interesting... I wonder if this means that if I asked about it at check-in this Sat (non-concierge guests cuz no availibility) they might consider letting us (2) do it..... ?

After much internal debate (you know how you can drive yourself crazy after making your reservations), I have switched our hotel from POFQ to AKL. This is a trip I'm taking with my DD 14 and I wanted it to be a really fun and different experience for her. We will be there Dec. 7-12. We have stayed at POFQ and it's a very nice resort but I don't think it holds much for a 14 yr. old. She's very excited and we can't wait to go!!

Wow that is interesting to learn. I remember when i was planning my trip Don
from conciege told me about the sunset safari. I was on the Platinum plan

2) Is there a walking/jogging trail at/near AKL?

Just noticed you're from Ann Arbor. I get to go the THE GAME this year.

Yay! We're taking ME for the first time... flight lands at 9:30, so I don't know exactly how long it will take to get to AKL. I gotta get over to Home Depot and get me some LGMHs.... the list just keeps getting longer!
So far we are lucking out on the weather! As of now-- no rain until the day we leave (12th)! Last year we went around this time and got stuck in Wilma....

As far as "THE GAME" goes... I'm still hoping for an end of season 1 vs 2 battle... a NC preview!

I land at 9:20, and my friend and kids at 8:50, so we may be on the same ME bus as you. I've heard it can take up to an hour or 1-1/2 to get to AKL, depending on how many stops the bus has to make. I'll have my dark haired friend and her son and daughter who will be speaking Portuguese! (they're flying in from Brazil) I'm sure we won't be hard to spot! I'll be tired looking, too - leaving for the Cleveland airport before 4 AM. I live in Sandusky. (Yea, Cedar Point is my back yard) I think I'll pull an all-nighter then sleep on the plane.

I saw that darn thunder shower forecast for the 12th, but it did say PM. Of course that's when we have tickets for Mickey's Halloween party. The weather has been changing daily on weatherchanel.com, so maybe it will push it to the 13th.

That would be something about the NC. We have OSU season tix and due to my kids being in high school sports, that's the only game of the year I can go to. (Oh, darn! ) My son in college is having a fit!!!! I'm just glad it's in Columbus.

my dad sent me this picture. i have a couple questions about akl.
1 what is the statistical probability of getting upgraded from delux savanah veiw to conceirge? i so want conceirge for this trip but cant afford it. hope for pixie dust for it.
2. can adults do cookie decorating or arts and crafts or other kid activities or would it just look to wierd?
