Jambo Savannah Views

Hey everyone!

I've been on cloud nine all morning after booking a split stay that includes a savannah view at Jambo for our December trip. My daughter is obsessed with giraffes, so I thought the savannah view would be very special for her.

Now I've been searching old threads and it seems that we won't be able to see animals from our savannah view due to the trees blocking the way since the DVC's in Jambo are so high up?

Can anyone offer clarification? I was really hoping this would be a special part of our trip for our daughter. Will the overall atmosphere be worth the extra points even though we can't see animals from our room?

I've never had any issues with trees blocking my view at Jambo House. All of our Savanna View stays at JH (except for Concierge Level) have been on the Arusha Savanna. While there are trees on the Savanna, there is plenty of open space between the building and the trees for the animals to roam.

I disagree. I was at AKL (hotel not DVC) two weeks ago and had a savanna view of Arusha. I was on the 4th floor and I found myself sitting on the balcony floor trying to see the giraffes while they nibbled on the leaf buckets. I imagine the 5th floor would be even worse!

It is entirely possible that you will be fine. But it is also possible that you will have trees blocking your view. For this reason I have decided that I like Kidani better than Jambo House. No guarantee of a lower floor, but at least it is possible. Of course there are other reasons to like Jambo House though.
