Thanks, dn! I appreciate the insight! We decided on BWV for the July trip because of location location location.
DH and I plan to stay 1 night at AKL after our cruise in Oct (FREE as incentive when we purchased DVC this past Aug), so we will have our chance to enjoy it then.
As to Jambo being "larger" that is not really correct. Jambo has the larger lobby, larger store, three restaurants (table, buffet and counter service), the larger pool. Kidani has the kids elaborate water play area and much longer slide for the pool and a very nice table service restaurant.
Kidani is super "large" in length. The walk from the end of its south wing to the end of its north wing is over 1/2 mile. The walk to rooms at the end of the wings from the lobby is very long (over 1/4 mile on the north wing). Would recommend requesting close to the lobby if you stay there. Kidani has ideal parking, under the building, if you have a car and you can easily park close to a wing elevator that is near your room regardless of where room is. Kidani also gives you the potential (although a not guaranteed request) of getting a lower floor (2 or 3) and thus a more direct sight line at the animals whereas at Jambo all of DVC is on 5th fl (and 6th for concierge) and you look down on the animals.
Kidani gives you somewhat of a bus advantage in that all park busses stop there first so easier to get a seat during rush times in the morning.
The studio room sizes are about the same in both buildings (except for the small number of smaller "value" point cost rooms in Jambo). The 1BRs and 2BRs are much larger in Kidani.
