I was able to snag one night at Kilimanjaro club in November. Are we able to eat prior to check in? We will be checking out of poly early and wanted to go straight to Kilimanjaro club for breakfast. Is that allowed or do we have to wait until after we check in to use? Thank you

You have to go to the desk to get a card that gets you in. They went send you to a special club level person. It works for the pool and such also, obviously not your room yet.

EDIT: This also gets you into the little gym, which is right off the pool. There are showers there.

Yes you can. We had a red-eye flight one time and arrived at 7 am to the club (5 am arrival at MCO, then deplane, etc.) We were able to eat and rest there.

To avoid potential weirdness on a split stay, make sure you're fully checked out of the Poly before you leave. Stop by the front desk and have them confirm before you leave that resort.
I've done this three times for breakfast and never had an issue. I'm pretty sure AKL checks you out. But yes, you could go actually check out.

Awesome. What all is included in concierge at jambo? I thought it just included food honestly.

good to know! I did not realize this. Do you mean the first floor lobby check in?

We were just there this week. On check in day, we arrived early afternoon and our MB would not work to let us get to 6th floor on the elevator or into our room. Another guest let us up using hers. Desk at concierge were very busy and understaffed at this time. A few other guests were having same issue. Eventually, there was an acknowledgment pop up that I had to check under my hotel section on MDE and was able to use the digital key (although I’d previously already done online check in).

There's a club level person milling around near the check in desk on the front floor. You could also flag that person if they aren't busy. The desk will call that person over for you. They give you a special card to get to the club floor.

There is a concierge on that floor. Usually they are just sitting there. I've heard them booking dining or explaining things on maps before. I've never actually asked for anything, because I didn't need anything, and I would expect this is a tip-expected position.

The alcohol is mostly in the back now, you have to ask for it.

Last time I went, the service was pretty bad. Drinks took a really long time, and the non-alcoholic drinks and ice cream were not stocked. I had to ask for all of that, which is pretty ridiculous. No reason a Mickey bar and some milk shouldn't have been where they actually go.

I agree. It just makes it so much smoother at resort 2 when you tell them at resort 1 to actually check you out.

Everytime I forget to do that, I never get room ready texts, and they have to mess with my MB at resort 2.

I'm a queen of triple split stays. The room ready texts are a function of your settings when you check in to the next resort. You need to check those settings. You can change them even after you've checked in. It has nothing to do with checking out of the other resort.

I split stay every trip so I am well versed in it.

When I don’t check out of the first resort, things don’t work for the second one, including resetting my Mb. When I do, I have no issues.

When I do online check in ahead of time, I get confirmation from both resorts that I’m set via text.

The morning of the move, I even get the we are ready for you text from resort two. But never the room ready if I forget to check out in person.

So, the texts work but not room ready until I check out of resort one there or arrive at resort two and they check me in.

I was lucky enough to grab the weekend of Easter and was wondering the same thing :)
For those who have done it do you find the club level to be “worth” the extra points at the expense of the Savannah view? We love seeing the animals on the balcony

I've never actually "checked out" of a DVC room, as in going to the desk. When you check in online for the next reservation, it lets you set how you want to be notified. I've done it with email, someone else's phone, all kinds of configurations. You can change it if you want different settings from when first checked in.

I understand and when I do the check in, mine is set to text me notifications for the reservation. I get the confirmation that I am all set. But, if I don't go down to the front desk and check out, then the room text never arrives that day...even after I just updated online check in the morning of the move, choose text me, and confirmed....

So, for whatever reason, I must either go to the front desk at resort one to have them physically check me out, or I have to go to the front desk at resort two when I arrive in order to get the room text...and many times, my room is already ready but MDE still shows me at the old resort..

The only time I get a room ready text for my second resort before going there is when I do the in person check out at resort one. As I said, I do it each and every trip and for me, updating online check in the day of the move without visiting the front desk at resort one before leaving does not produce the room ready text.

Which is why I make sure to do it that way because then, I get the texts, MB's all work, and I don't have to visit the front desk at resort two.

Agree with most of your take on club level AKL. I would stay again for the food offerings and the quality of the food was delicious! They seemed to be staffed a bit low, but the CM were super kind (when available) and got us anything we needed. Would have preferred to have been told how to check in, as I felt stupid when my MB didn’t even work.

Mickey bars were always available in freezer.

Bottled water was ask only. Sparkling and flat always available on tap.

Espresso machine was either broken or out of order by choice. They had it covered up with a large cloth entire time. That sucked bc I was looking forward to that.

I really really did not like having to ask for alcohol such as beer, wine, mimosas with breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. Cordials were self serve at dessert time thankfully. One of the perks of CL should be the alcohol offerings. I assume they are hoarding it somewhere in the back to prevent over indulging and wastefullness to save $$$$. A lot of folks were puzzled by this.

I was glad to have experienced the club level. Was worth the 22 points IMO, even though there were a few glitches. I left all of this in my after trip survey so hopefully I’m not the only one speaking up on these few issues.

If I were doing this again, instead of ordering, say a mimosa, I would order a mimosa and a POG mimosa so I don't have to flag someone and do this all over again. It's sloooow, which I guess is one way to limit the alcohol. There was wine out at dinner, but when it ran out, it wasn't replaced. If I paid $1K for this room, and expected a JW club level, I would have been even more disappointed. Definitely worth 22 points though, and glad I got to do it.

It is definitively worth it to us! Sometimes we also get to see some animals from our balcony, but if not, there are so many places all over the place for that.

We were just there this past March and June ,even if it's just one or two nights and then we move to another type of room at Jambo or Kidani, we have access all day when we check out. We have gotten to know some of the staff, and Francisco is amazing in making sangria and mimosas( He used to work at GF concierge ).He also makes us great cold coffee beverages.

We never had a problem getting wine or beer for my husband. All you have to do is ask. The snacks are not as great as they were pre-covid, but the dinner offerings are amazing, the food is from Boma, we were told.

We love relaxing with some sweets and cordials or wine when we return from the parks. We were able to get a couple of nights for this upcoming trip for food and wine in 2 weeks during our split stay in Riviera and AK.

Enjoy! You will love it !

We have CL at Jambo January 1-3. It’ll be the first time in many years. We’re looking forward to it.

At BC concierge in September, there were Mickey Ice Cream sandwiches, no Mickey bars. They’re good too!
