Jambo House vs Kidani Village

For a Studio, I would probably pick Jambo. The building itself is...grander...and Jambo has better dining options.

For anything larger Kidani would get the nod due to the larger villa, better master bath and extra bathroom.

Fully agree too.

There's no difference in the Studios, so unless you just want the Pembe savanna, the extra services at Jambo are worth staying over there. If you're going for 1BR or more, Kidani's villas of that size are indeed superior.

We love KV we love that there is only 1 stop first pick up and drop off. We are not big breakfast eaters so not much into that. We normally do the dining plan so after a few hours in the park we either eat there or stop at Mara on the way back. They do have a shuttle to get back until 9pm. It is not a bad walk. We have had excellent locations all studios. One SV that was way at the end. Saw lots of giraffes. We love the pool there and they have lots of activities at the pool.

This is what I'm hoping it is like for us. We have a Kidani GV for Nov and the lack of dining options at first had me concerned until I realized that we usually just have a quick breakfast in the room before heading out and do CS and TS during our touring day anyway. Last trip we only ate twice at the Contempo Cafe so I don't think dining will be an issue for us.

OP: The next thing people warned me about was the long walk to lobby if you get stuck at one of the ends of the resort so request close to lobby.

Here's my take on Jambo vs Kidani -- I really like the Kidani pool better.

Comparison of Jambo and Kidani

Jambo:
large impressive lobby, larger gift shop
busier atmosphere
larger pool, wimpy slide (IMHO)
steam room in workout area
counter service at Mara
value and concierge rooms
rooms retrofitted from existing hotel rooms
Master bath has shower/jetted tub combo plus toilet in one room (toilet is split off)
Parking in lots
Bus to DTD first stop
Rooms on 5th floor, except for 5 2br lockoffs on 6th for concierge

Kidani:
smaller, more intimate lobby and gift shop
quieter atmosphere
splash area at pool, and better slide (IMHO)
rooms designed for DVC
extra bath in one and two bedrooms
separate shower and jetted tub in master bath
community hall
Under building parking
Park busses first stop
Rooms on floors 2 through 5
