Jambo House Studio - Room requests?

We will be staying at AKL for the first time 1/31-2/6. We rented DVC points and will be in a Studio - Savannah view. For online check in , the room request options are: Upper Floor, Near Lobby, Near Elevator, Kudu Trail View, and Lower Floor. I can choose up to two of these requests. Any suggestions of what would be the best requests to make?

We are in a Jambo studio right now. We requested to be near the lobby and it turned out to be ideal. A view of the savanna from our balcony, and a view over the lobby outside our door. Being close to the restaurants, shop and transportation and parking is very convenient, and there hasn't been any issue with noise. It looks like some rooms can be quite a walk from the lobby, so I would always request to be near the lobby.

The upper/lower floor choices are meaningless for a DVC villa at Jambo. You will be on the 5th floor so no need to choose one of those. Kudu trail is one of the hallways that radiate from the lobby and the villas face Sunset savannah or Arusha savannah - both nice views. The other hallway is Zebra trail and the savanna view villas on that trail face Arusha or Uzima savannahs. Zebra trail is closer to the pool and Mara the quick service restaurant. I'm typing this from Zebra trail, Arusha view - just came in from the balcony and although it's dark I just saw the 4 Giraffes, Impala herd, and Waterbuck herd wander by. It is a hike to the lobby compared to other villas/rooms I've had here.

The check-in requests at Jambo are for the Lodge rooms, not DVC villas. If you have any specific request, the person whose points you rented needs to get it in for you.

I wonder if that's still true. We rented thru one of the web brokers and we were able to select those requests when doing the advance on line check-in.

Yes you were able to select them but the room assigner will not see them. Because you are using DVC points those requests won't be on your reservation. Any requests for your reservation have to come from Guest Services.

Thus, why Jambo lets you say what floor you want in online check-in, when it isn't something flexible for a DVC villa.

Same thing happens at the Poly and GF. The Gv online check in has building requests for buildings without Villas as possible check boxes.
