Jambo house for 100 point contracts?

I'm not sure if I was misunderstanding the post or not, but did someone get a Jambo house for a 100 point contract?

I want to buy in at 100, but I want to be able to use my points before this time next year. Is there anyway to borrow points from next year and stay in SSR or somewhere else if availible?

If the actual piece of the resort that you purchase isn't ready for occupancy until a future date, then you can't use those points to stay anywhere until that time.

So in other words, if you buy AKV points and the piece you buy isn't available for anyone to stay in until May 1, 2009, then you can't reserve a stay anywhere that happens before May 1, 2009. Doesn't matter if you have points to borrow or not. In order for you to use your AKV points somewhere else, there has to be a way for other members to use their points at AKV - and if your points represent a portion of AKV that isn't done yet, you have nothing to "trade".

Disney recognizes this and had been offering "developer" points for you to use at SSR in lieu of having to wait until 5/1/2009.

Yes - there are/were different deals out there. AFAIK, the only one (with developer points) going on right now limits the developer points to SSR. But there are still many members out there who have the kind that can be used anywhere at the 7 month mark.

There was someone on another thread that said they did get the Jambo house w/2007 points when they did the initial 100 pt buy in. She also relayed that her guide said there were very few Jambo points available that would allow this. I think the best way would be to call a guide and say you heard there might be a chance for this and you would like that if possible.

In addition to the Dev. Points, are you getting 2008 points in August? The reason that I ask is that when we signed up over the holiday weekend, we ended up going with a Dec. UY, mostly because they said that Dec. was the only UY that would allow for 2008 points to be disbursed. Basically she said that if we went with an Aug. UY, we'd get the Dev. Points, but we wouldn't get our first set of AKV points until Aug. '09.

It think it might be a case of a 100 point buy-in has to be through Kindani, but a 100 point add-on could be through Jambo, if available. Not 100% sure, though.

I'm 99% certain that Roselark (see above post) bought in at 100 and got Jambo pts.

We added on at the 100 pt. level but it's Kidani pts.

Yes, our first set of points will be Aug 2008, but they can't be used until after May 2009.

If you purchase Kidani you will not have maintenance fees until May 2009, no 2008 maintenance fees will be charged.

My biggest learning experience in buying from Disney is that you're going to get different info from different guides. I was at the DL event and spoke to one guide on Sunday night. He was not around when I actually went to do the contract on Monday. The guide on Monday also tried the story of only 2009 pts unless I did the Dec. UY. I told him that the night before I was told I would get 2008 pts w/Oct UY. He walked up front and quickly came back and said that yes, I could have the '08 pts. In fact for the whole transaction the 2nd guide would have shorted us on everything if I hadn't known to ask - or rather insisted that he make certain it couldn't be done. I got everything the first guide told me about - and he was the newer guide! At least he brought up the possibilities and checked - rather than the other way around! I had also spoke to different guide before all of this - I would supply info from these boards - she would yell over to someone else in the room and then come back with affirmative answers and that she had never heard of such things before. Glad I could help her learn what was currently available! If I hadn't experienced it I would not have believed that all guides wouldn't have the same info.

We bought Jambo on Sunday and got 2008 points (100). They said they had very few of these left. I hope this helps you. They could be all gone by now.
