Jambo House 1st stay

DVC member since 1994 and this is our first stay at AKLV(visit here for meals every trip). We checked in (did online) Sunday 12/26 around 12 noon, got package, but room not ready. Went to DTD and got text around 2:45 room ready 5234 savannah view(sunset savannah). Really love the villa, great views of giraffes, antelopes, zebra, ostrich. Everything is perfect order, 2 towel animals, lots of welcome homes, they also gave us anniversary badges with out names on them the years married(28) and hearts/mickey ears, and also wrote the same on our keys!!! Lots of fun. Resort lobby is beautiful, but the garland on the balconies seemed to be toned down a bit. Bus transportation to DAK today was very efficient. I do have to admit that the villa is darker and we have all the kitchen lights and living room lamps on when we are around. Of to Boma for dinner tonite then relaxing with MNF!

PS its freezing here! but it has made for really low crowds Sat,Sun and Monday(even at MK in evening).

Leaving here for HHI on 12/30 for 2 nights there before drive back to Boston..It should get back to 70's by the time we leave WDW1 Go figure!

Enjoy your trip! We just checked out yesterday from AKL.
We really enjoyed the Christmas decorations, especially at night.
As much as I love staying at Jambo, I agree it is soo dark in the rooms.

We just did a studio stay at Jambo club level - unbelievable! We also did a value (Jambo) studio a few months ago, a 1BR Kidani stay in May, and a Kidani studio a year ago. All stays have been absolutely perfect regarding the facilities, service, and condition of the units. We are so glad that we did an add-on at this resort. I hope that DVC continues to provide such a fantastic experience for those that choose to stay at this (these?) resort(s?).

We loved our second stay at Kindani. I am one of the ones who love the darker decor and find it fits me perfectly. We keep many of the lights off in our house for some reason, my parents do the same. Maybe that is why it is home for me. Glad you had a great time. We are headed back in May and October. Hope you have a terrific NYE at HHI.

I am also one of the ones who likes the darker decor, I don't really think it is that dark. We are AKV owners and love both Jambo and Kidani. And we have had similar positive experiences. So happy that we can call AKV home.

To the OP, enjoy the rest of your stay and have a safe trip to HHI!

hello neighbor, we are in Kidani in a GV across from you. We had a few giraffes outside our balcony lying down yesterday. Did not see them get up though. With the sun streaming in through the windows of the GV, we have plenty of light and right now as the sun is rising, it is quite beautiful seeing the animals come out.

I had a solo trip last Mother's Day week in a savanna view studio in Jambo on the Zebra Trail. I loved everything about it. I'm glad you're enjoying your trip. They should have the feet of snow all plowed and shoveled for you by the time you return to Boston.
