With the dry conditions in Florida have there been any RECENT sightings. What is WDWs policy regarding this. Is this something I should be concerned about?
Alligators can be seen every single day in Florida, regardless of conditions. However, they rarely bother humans unless provoked. I'm unaware of any official WDW "policy" on this...
I have never heard of any incident involving an alligator and WDW guests on property. There are confirmed reports of alligators in most of the water areas around WDW. However, there are screens around the resort beach areas to keep them out of the public areas. Also, when any larger ones are found they are removed.
When I did one of the behind the scenes tours in March, they said the policy is to remove all alligators. Under 6 foot, they go to a nearby preserve, over 6 foot, they go to the Everglades. Hope this helps.
I've been curious about this and I'm glad someone asked the question. And to a more specific question...has anyone ever saw an alligator at SSR? if so...where?
I have also heard that they remove them. One other question is the lizards, you don't see many at Disney? Do they spray or somethign for them. WE were at Disney for 6 days then moved into orlando and the lizzards were all over place.
