Jakob's Pre Make-A-Wish Trip ( Big Give Photos 3/13/09)

I've been volunteering with Make-A-Wish for about a year and a half now and I love it. I'm a wish granter and I was able to grant my first wish in December. Wouldn't you know it, his wish was to go to WDW! This was meant to be! I can only imagine what an unbelievable experience being granted a wish must be for families, but as a volunteer, I can't even begin to express how redeeming it is to be able to be a part of the wish granting process! I will do my best to answer anybody's questions and can't wait to grant more wishes through this amazing foundation.

I have to say, once Jake's trip is done, I will be going thru the process myself to become a wish granter for our MAW chapter, and I can't wait, I will actually do my first wish with one of Jake's wish granters.... We are both paying it forward, as Jake was her first wish, and her son's wish granter was her partner in Jake's wish...I hope that all makes sense...

MAW told me to wait until Jake's trip is over and than I can start to process, and I can not wait....

I wanted to get these pictures up last night, but Jake was not feel well, so I never got a chance to get back on the computer. And I apologize cause I do not have the name of the wonderful lady that made and sent these, cause I am back in the hospital with Jake, and the box is at home... I am SOO sorry...I wanted to get these pictures up and personally thank you so much for giving Jake and Hannah these smiles that you gave them yesterday...They LOVED these. It took all of 5 mins for them to get their markers and put them in. Jake even has his with him at the hospital. He can't wait to show the child life here tomorrow.

Again I am sorry that I do not have the name the person made these, but I promise soon as I get home, I will send come and personally thank you.

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers with Jake. He came home from the hospital on Friday not nothing grew, so that means NO LINE INFECTION...Thank God!!!

Of course I was sick all day yersterday with the body aches and sinus stuff, but feel much better today. However now I think Jake has some stomach bug as he has been sick a couple of times and tells me he just feels so weird. So we will see what tomorrow brings. Hopefully everyone will starting feeling soon.

Ohh I also have some very cool news to share about something that is going to happen during Jake's trip... I will be back later to share!!!

Finally have sometime to sit down and go thru the boards and I need to go read some pre trips too...

Now I realize this is really cool news to us since we are HUGE baseball and Red Sox fans...

About a month ago, my father was at a golfing torunment and he ran into the an owner of a big insurance company here in Boston. They got to talking and my father told him that his grandson was going on his MAW trip to Disney at the end of March. Well not knowing, he is a big supporter of the MAW foundation here in Boston. So when he heard that, he asked my dad if Jake liked the Red Sox's...UGHHHHH...YEAH... He said, how would your grandson like to go to a Sox spring training game against the Braves as an add on to his MAW trip when he in FL. Of course my dad was speechless...and said, I don't know, I have to talk to my son-in-law. So next thing I know my husband gets and email from my dad with all the information this gentleman have given my dad as to who to contact.

So my husband emailed this person, and they asked for us to send something that showed our dates when we were coming down and that it is thru MAW cause that way they get to do something extra special for Jake...NOW...all I know right now is that we have 6 tickets to the Sox vs Braves game on March 30th, but nothing else....and all I can think of is " WHAT IF JAKE GETS TO MEET THE PLAYERS".....OMG...

Ok I know I am jumping ahead of myself and I am just so excitied that Jake is able to go to his second Red Sox game at his favorite place in the whole world.... It truly is amazing when you come across people that think of others...after all, look at this board....amazing..
