I'm trying to make a reservation at Jakes for 2 weeks from now (eeeee!!!!). I can't find a single reservation after 4:30 on pretty much any day I select in Nov. Does Jakes not take reservations for dinner anymore or are they that booked up?

Last time I was at Jakes was October 11 last month

When I tried to make a reservation for 5:30-6:00 for that night, was told I could come at 5:00 and be listed on a wait list for that evening

So I went solo and signed in
Received my table in 15 minutes

(Earlier that week, a friend and I went at 5 and did the wait list)

Assume you will be able to make a reservation the same way that I did

We ate three times in Jake`s at night over our trip and always walked into plenty of tables......we had our choice of where to sit. It was never overly busy on the nights we were there.

I`ve never had to make a reservation for Jake`s.

Hope you enjoy it....we loved every visit there again...…...

Ah, that's interesting. We plan to go to Jake's our arrival night and won't be getting there until 7:30 so the list isn't going to work for us but hopefully it won't be busy.

Good to know. Since it's our arrival day I wanted to make sure it's no fuas. The kids are going to be hungry eating late (for them). But if it's busy for some reason we can always just go to Islands or Bula. We do love Jake's though.

I was there during the time hhn was happening

That could have been the reason why no reservations were set up in advance

It would be pretty unusual to need a reservation two weeks in advance for most of the restaurants at Universal - especially in the hotels - I am sure there are exceptions

You really need to forget the planning you have to do at Disney and just go and enjoy

Depending on how you are feeling, you could also try room service - we ordered a few times on our May trip and it was always delicious!

I have noticed that most of the restaurants in the hotels, Citywalk, and the parks aren't taking evening reservations. I was trying to book something, and there wasn't anything after like 3:30pm or 4pm for the whole trip. I think we might be there the same time as you. I get to Orlando on 11/15, but we don't make it to Universal until late on 11/21. I am worried about dinner on Thanksgiving. We are doing the Grinch breakfast in the morning. We are hoping to see Fantastic Beasts around 3pm. I wanted to get dinner in Citywalk after the movie before we head to Islands for the Hogwart's Lights. I don't know what to expect for restaurant waits on Thanksgiving evening in Citywalk or the parks. I guess worse comes to worse we can do QS. We will have an early Thanksgiving meal at LTT at WDW on Wednesday and then a nice steak meal at the Palm on Friday, so I'm not worried about having a special meal.

We arrive on 11/16 and leave 11/22 - all Uni. We ended up making reservations for full service places at lunch since the park restaurants don't seem to have evening hours when the parks close earlier. The plan is to do Mythos, Margaritaville, and Toothsome at lunch. I was looking to do Antojitos that way too but they aren't open for lunch.

Good luck with your evening Thanksgiving meal. I don't know if people will try to plan their special meal at lunch like you have or dinner. We have had good luck at the HP restaurants at night. It seems like a lot more people go there at lunch than dinner but I don't know if that would hold true on Thanksgiving.

I’ve been having the same issue with Antojitos. No availability on any nights.

Guess we’ll just try bowling up to see what happens.

We tried that last night to a 40-50 min wait at Antojitos with priority seating (which was the same wait time as the non-priority seating). But we are also a party of 5 which makes it tougher.

Jake's was fine. No waiting. City Walk was a different story.

Gosh, that’s a longer wait than I would be happier with. If I can’t make a reservation and waits are going to be long, I’m wondering if I should reconsider Antojitos as one of my options.

Thanks for sharing.

If you have a smaller party it should be shorter than that. But yeah, it was frustrating.
