Jaime's May, 2006, Trip Report!!!

Jaime,

OMG! I am sitting here at work trying out your TV Laugh b/c you have me in hysterics!!! Your description of the TV Laugh (and the chinese food comment) sent me over the edge! And to top it off, the SNEEZE??? I have GOT to pull myself together!

Your trip report was wonderful and magical and not at all "cheese -y" (sorry, but I had to do it!) LOL!

Your niece is adorable and maybe, just maybe, Judi and Ron are WDW converts now?

Thanks for sharing!

Anne

HA!!!!!!!!!!!!! That made my day!

I talked to Rhonda after reading your note - and we agree - Judi and Ron will NEVER, EVER, EVER, NEVER, NEVER, EVER become Disney Converts!

In fact, if it wasn't for the fact that we are taking Lauren's little sister, Brooke, in 09/2007, Ron would probably never go back!

what a wonderful trip - your niece is so lucky to have all of you to have fun with

thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the great report. It was nice to be able to read it just over a couple of days.

Thank you - I loved writing it!

I don't know if Lauren will feel so lucky next year when we just take her sister, Brooke!

Me, too! I know some people like when it's stretched out, but I like to get into the whole story... Plus, when I'm writing a trip report, I don't want to stop because I'm so immersed in what I'm writing, it's almost a jolt to come back to reality!

Thanks for reading it and taking the time to add your note, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks for the great report. Lauren is adorable! I too love it when you can read an entire trip report in just a few days. Yay!

Sitting in the 2nd to the last row of It’s a Small World, I can hear the running commentary of the woman behind me:

SCENERY: Red, white, and green striped poles into the water; doll in a red and white striped shirt standing on a GONDOLA with an oar in the water…

CONVERSATION: Oh, look! We’re in Spain! :confused3

I lean forward to tell my sister in front of me that the lady behind me thinks this is Spain, not Italy.

SCENERY: Tigers, flying carpets, TAJ MAHAL, dolls in veils, 6 armed woman’s silhouette.

CONVERSATION: Oh, look! We’re in Egypt! :rotfl:

I lean forward to tell my sister that the Taj Mahal is now located on another continent in a different country!

SCENERY: Grass skirts, volcanoes, leis.

CONVERSATION: Oh, Look! We’re in Hawaii!

I lean forward to say I can cut her some slack on this one, but Hawaii is NOT a COUNTRY! :lmao:

SCENERY: KANGAROO, KOALA BEARS, and an Aborigine.

CONVERSATION: [From the woman’s 10 or 12 year old daughter]: Mom, what country is he from?

WOMAN: He’s a native.

It’s all I can do to not turn around and ask “A native of WHERE??????????” We’re ALL natives!

I lean forward to ask my sister if blood is coming out of my ears yet. :furious:

We get near the end of the ride and the grandmother, who has said nothing up to this point, now announces that she knows why it’s called It’s a Small World: it’s because all the dolls are so short! :rotfl2:

Thanks again to everyone who took the time to post - it means a lot!

I have news about the December trip - it's off, but instead we're going in September! I called and e-mailed my TA lasy night, "Quickly! Call me NOW!!!" And now Meggie and I are bringing her friend, Ashley, with us AND getting FREE dining!!!

We leave Sept. 2 and fly back Sept. 10th. We all miss only 4 days of work or school, so not too bad! AND it's costing me $600 les than it was!

I just want to take a moment (yeah, because I’m getting SO MUCH work done NOW!) and let everyone know what LINDA NORTON from the Mouse for Less Travel did for me:

I have been planning a trip with my DD15 for her 16th birthday in December. The details of this trip have changed a million times – with Linda having to change the “official” booked trip at least 6 or 7 times.

Last night, as my daughter was BEGGING me to bring a friend (so much for the loyalty of a daughter… I’m a fun person! Really!), I started playing around on the web to see what the price difference would be. I found that if we changed our dates to the week of Labor Day, that because of the free dining promotion, we could save a LOT of money!

The friend’s mother okayed it – I called Linda at TMFL and left a message on her voice mail – and just in case, I e-mailed her “Quick! Call me NOW!!!”

The phone rings and I answer it, “Thank heavens!” and I think I scared her a little!

I want to cancel December 8-16 and rebook Sept 2-10 and add a person. WITH free dining!

She did it. She changed the dates, she added the friend, she was checking airfares – you’d think SHE was going on the trip with us! She did it with a smile in her voice – despite the fact that I’ve changed this trip more times than most people change their sheets!

But, wait – it gets better! We had originally planned to try for Cinderella’s Castle for breakfast on my daughter’s birthday. When we decided to change the dates, I told the girls, “There is NO WAY we will get the castle. We’re at the 93 day mark. It’s not even worth trying. Forget about it.” So they went with the Princess Breakfast instead.

I e-mailed all our ADR requests to Linda the same night. Friday morning I got an e-mail from her. The subject was “CRT”. I had already forgotten about CRT, I know a lost cause when I see one. This is the e-mail:

I GOT YOU CRT!!! September 7th, 8:15am.

Credit card guarantee has been applied; you can pay for it when you get there.

I cannot wait to see the look on my daughter’s face. After “TMFL” Magic I’ve encountered, “Disney” Magic has got its work cut out!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Linda, for giving it one last try, even after your client had given it up as a lost cause!

Hey Jaime! Finally finished your TR! After reading bits and pieces through TMFL I made it a goal to read it with photos! It was great ;)

Can't wait to read your December installment.....I hope I can do as good a job (haha yah right) when I post mine after my Sept trip.

edited b/c I see you are going now BEFORE ME!!! LUCKY LUCKY!

The look I got was "Mommmmmmmmmmmm, we're going to EPCOT Thursday, not the Magic Kinggggggggggggdomm............... Thursday just doesn't work for me. See if she can get Saturday when we're SUPPOSED to be in the Magic Kingdom."

Are ya flippin' kiddin' me????????????? :furious:

So I e-mail Linda back and tell her to cancel CRT - Saturday would be better because we just can't work out the date change and we aren't park hopping this trip.

The next morning there's an e-mail from Linda - she got Saturday's CRT at 9:15! 91 days from the start of the trip! Awesome! (Thursday we're going O'Hana's for breakfast and then taking the monorails over to EPCOT for the day.)

Hello,

I just have to thank you for making me laugh!!! You are a very creative writer. I was also wondering do you have any tips that I might need to know? We are going to WDW 9/6-9/12. We have never stayed in a resort. We will be at PC. I'm kind of nervous about staying at PC because I read a lot of bad reviews. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you! :):):)

I'm so sorry - I just saw your post! Can you believe I never subscribed to my own trip report??? :thumbsup2

I LOVED Pop Century! It was all so clean and new and colorful. I have heard people say to try to get a room away from the pools because of the noise. We were in the 50s, on the 4th floor, facing EPCOT in September, 2005. I have no requests for this next trip - except an upper floor (I have a thing about bugs WALKING in to my room - which never happened at Port Orleans Riverside in May, 2006, and we were on the ground floor!)

I forgot the question....

Let's try it with the QUOTE! OK, the food at the Pop Century is pretty good, too. I've had the Parmesan Crusted Chicken and it was really good. Breakfast is breakfast.

Oh - here's something! In the food court at 8am, the cast members do the Twist! And something else at 6pm - something Grease like is coming to mind. Man, it was too early to try to answer you - I'm very rambley!

AND, duh, I just realized we'll be there at the same time (but you knew that, didn't ya?) I'll be the overweight woman in purple/pink/red Crocs following around 2 very hyper, mini-gothic teens. I can't wait! This is gonna be such a cool trip with those 2 goofballs! And...

I PROMISE - NO MORE PRE-COFFEE POSTS!

Look ---> :happytv: It's a TV LAUGH!!!!! HAAAAAAAAAAA!

You should have gotten out your PassPorter to check this out - The cast members do the Twist in the Food Court and the Hustle in the Lobby.

:rolleyes1

Ladies and Gentlemen -

The dining room is proud to present.....

MY SISTER!

It's about time you piped up! :hourglass
