Jaclyn & Chris’ Engagement Trip Report ~ Updated 01/03

Just started reading your trip report and it looks like you guys had a blast so far! I'm so jealous of your engagement! I had always wanted to get engaged at Disney, but in the end I at least got a honeymoon there! Can't wait for more!

Finally catching up after all the craziness of the holidays. The tour sounds great; Mark and I have always talked about doing one of the tours and maybe this is the one we will choose.

Hope you had a great Christmas.

I understand what you mean. I started a new job right before holidays and now I’m off for the week so I’m trying to catch on everyone’s reports. This is the only tour Chris and I have ever done and thinks it’s a great beginner’s tour. It’s only half a day and it’s not as expensive as some of the other ones.

Thanks! Chris and I had a great Christmas, busy but nice. :)

The tour always sounds so neat. Maybe one day we will go on it.
Yum! Love Beaches and Cream.

I highly recommend it. :thumbsup2

I wish they had something like Beaches and Cream in Canada. I would go all the time. ::yes::

Yay pics are working, wow look at those empty MK pics

Oooh that fudge sundae looks delish.

It was very good. I  Beaches and Cream's hot fudge.

I'm really enjoying your report, Jaclyn!!! Thanks for letting us all dream about Disney!!!:worship:

I’m glad you’re enjoying it! :goodvibes

Ok, I'm just catching up on your KTTKT now and I've got to know, why is there a Dog in the MK? See that man back there with the dog? Do you think it's sniffing for something? Weird!

Love all the info on the KTTKT. You guys sure know how to pack a lot into 1 day!

You have a very keen eye. Yes, there was a security dog there that morning. I’m not sure what he was sniffing for but it seemed like it was just part of the MK morning routine. The guy walking the dog seemed pretty relaxed and even stopped to say good morning to us.

Beaches & Cream looks great - We really wanted to make it over there this trip but didn't since we were doing Deluxe Dining and most of our eating was already planned. Maybe on the next trip since I have told my husband that we can't ever do deluxe dining again - that is just too much food!

Looking forward to more of your trip report!

I don’t think I would be able to do the Deluxe Dining Plan either. Way too much food for me and I wouldn't be able to be able to enjoy all my hot fudge sundaes, No Way Joses, and Dole Whips. This girl needs her daily dose of ice cream.

I love the German pavilion! Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun at the World Showcase!

We had a lot of fun. There nothing better than drinking your way around World Showcase and then riding some rides.

Love Beaches & Cream! Your Epcot evening sounded lovely and relaxing! Looking forward to more!

It was very relaxing. One of my favourite things to do is wandering around the world showcase at night. :cloud9:

It was definitely a trip of a lifetime. I feel very lucky that Chris decided to propose it Disney. It's a place that means so much to the both of us.

That's great that you got to honeymoon in WDW. People look at us crazy when we say we want to get married and honeymoon there. It's only fellow DISers that truly "get it".

This morning we woke up around 9am and started packing up our stuff. Chris went and grabbed us breakfast from the Pepper Market and brought it back to the room. We both got plain bagels toasted with cream cheese.

By 11am we were all ready to go. It felt so weird checking out of CSR and knowing we were going to POR. This was the first time we changed resorts during our stay. We decided to just take a taxi to POR instead of relying Disney Transportation. It was only around $15 including tip.

Arriving at POR felt like we were home. We’ve stayed here during our previous two trips so it just felt so comfortable being back here. I checked us in online the previous week so it took us no time to check in. There was only 1 person ahead of me. We received our request for the Alligator Bayou. Chris has always wanted to stay in the section because he loves the rustic feel.

We were assigned room 3635 in building 16. The best news was that our room was ready!

Here are some pictures of our room.

After unpacking our things and getting settled ( I am the type of person that needs to unpack before I can relax on vacation) we were ready to head out to DTD for some lunch.

When we arrived at the dock we saw the boat to DTD departing.

We knew it would be another 20 minutes until the next boat so we went to the gift shop to browse around before we went back to the dock.

Our boat arrived right on schedule and we were on our way to POFQ and then DTD. This boat ride is one of my favorite things about staying Port Orleans. It’s such a relaxing ride. It takes you away from the hustle of the parks. I also love how the music transitions when you go from POR, POFQ and DTD.

We decided try Earl of Sandwich for lunch for the first time. I must say this place was very busy. At first I was a little overwhelmed with how long the line was and how busy the seating area was but I figured “What the heck! The food must be good.” I’m glad I we decided to stay because the line moved very quickly. I was really impressed with how efficient the CM’s were at moving people through the line.

I ordered the Hawaiian BBQ Sandwich and a Coke.

Chris ordered Broccoli & Cheddar Soup, The Earl’s Club, and a bottle of water.

This was my favorite counter service meal of the whole trip. The sandwiches were so fresh and I just fell in love with the taste of the bread they use.

After finishing up our sandwiches we did some shopping around DTD. After awhile I started getting a craving for ice cream so we made a pit stop at Ghirardelli’s.

I ordered a Gold Rush Sundae minus the whipped cream & toppings.

Our last stop in DTD was Pin Traders. After many years of avoiding pin trading for fear of getting addiction I bought my first pins. I bought a pin with Mickey and Minnie sitting in an engagement ring and a Corondo Springs pin. I wanted a few mementos to remember this trip by.

After only a 10 minute wait the boat was there to take us back to POR. We were back at the room by 4pm.

The line at EoS is very intimidating. The first time we went I almost walked out because it was so busy. The CM's have a really good system in place for keeping the line moving. I was surprised by how fast we were able to get our order.

Just checking in to see how you guys are doing :)
