jacksonville ?? how far from orlando??

i can get a better rate flying into jacksonville
anyone ever done this??
how far to WDW

also how is the airport in jacksonville as far as
rental cars??

It would be at least 2 1/2 hours. They have several onsite agencies in JAX.

I agree with safetymom on the time. JAX airport is north of Jacksonvile on I-95, so you would have to drive thru Jacksonville to get to WDW, that route had lots of construction when we traveled thru the first of June.

I think it is somewhere around 140 miles or more. Last year we drove from Jersey. It felt great crossing over into Fla. but when we saw the mileage sign in Jacksonville to Orlando......... ugh!!!!
I had been a couple years since we had driven and it was quite a shock!!

When we drove in February it took 3 1/2 hours from the state line in Florida to WDW. There was a lot of traffic and construction. We drive all the way from Philly and we all agree it's the worst 3 hours of the drive

Tampa isn't as bad if you can get a flight there.

Last month I flew into JAX for a conference and drove to Disney for lunch (my partner forbade me from actually going into the parks without her).
It took about three hours. I was expecting about 2 hours so that last hour killed me. If you save a lot, not a bad idea to fly in there.
As far as car rentals go, I had gotten a great deal with National and it was very easy to get the car.
I wouldn't hesitate to fly in there myself if it was cheaper (I'd say if I saved about $100 or more, I would fly there).
However, it is more expensive for me to fly to JAX so that probably won't be happening.
