Jacksonville 95 or 295

driving from PA to FL and expect to hit Jacksonville around 7pm on Thursday feb 7th or 3pm Friday the 8th. I expect Friday I should take 295 around the city, but anyone have insight on Thursday would I be okay to cut through the city on 95 or will I get held up in construction or traffic.

We just did this drive, we took 295 (Sunday, Dec. 23rd). Other times we've had to drive in the area we've always utilized 295.

Sorry, have never hit it around 7 pm. Usually it is late afternoon, say 3-5 pm and have always used 95.

Do you take 295 to the east or the west?

Last time I took 295 on the east side of Jacksonville, Jacksonville beaches side

If you take the 295 always take the east side... But if you have Google Maps or Waze or any app like that, they will let you know if you should take the 295 or the 95. Personally if the drive through Jacksonville doesn't look bad I prefer to go the I-95 because the view is so much nicer.

Honestly, I would look at waze/google maps as you are driving, well have you co pilot look.

When we took the auto train and drove thru DC we went straight thru, no loop! The year before when we drove down, we took an outer loop, same time, same day of the week.
