Well this was the day I had waited for so long to come round and it was here. Woke about 8am and the kids were up. We were flying from Inverness at 5.10 and although it was great to get all the washing done and up to date I am sure the clocks had stopped as the kids were on repeat mode " is it time to go yet"
My mum and dad came round to ours at 1.30pm as they were taking a couple of our suitcases in their car as the wouldn't fit in our car
Set off at around 2pm and the journey only took 45 mins to the airport and we parked the car ane went to the Fly - Be desk to check in. To our surprise she handed us lounge vouchers as we were flying Business class and pointed us in the direction of the lounge
We grabbed the vouchers and ran as we certainly had not paid for business class!! Inverness airport is a small airport but the lounge was lovely. The tv had the Andy Murray tennis on, the drink was free and it was quiet.The kids settled down with their DS - I settled down with my book and DH settled down with a beer or two (the best friend of a nervous flyer
)
2 hour passed easily and it was time to board - we were in the sky an hour and 10 minutes and before you knew it landed and picking up our luggage at South Terminal. Off to the North terminal we went and used twilight check in to drop most of the bags
We had booked into the Premier Travel Inn at the North terminal which I wasn't very happy with as it had been hot and noisy the last time we were there but it has been upgraded since the last time we stayed and there was air conditioning and we seemed to be in a quieter part of the building.
It was about 9.30 by this point and now came the tricky part - trying to get the kids to sleep
DH settled down with a beer and the kids running round the room. They were so high!!
Lewis in his bed
DH was the first to fall into a beer induced sleep much to the amusement of the kids when he started snoring
They dropped off about 11pm leaving me too excited to sleep because I was off to Florida in the morning
