16th July

We were off to Chef Mickey for dinner tonight and then to Magic Kingdom for the fireworks so decided to let the kids choose what they wanted to do and they decided on a pool day – which I thought was only fair as they had been getting up earlier than a school day !!!!! They lay in their bed late that morning whilst I set up by the pool – a good book and a cool drink!!! The kids soon emerged and bobbed in and out of the pool whilst me and my mum soaked up the sun. It was soon lunchtime and DH who was getting restless by this time decided we wanted to visit some golf shops – the kids looked at him in disgust and I may have glared a bit too so it was decided DH and John would head off and we would stay by the pool .

As we sat by the pool a family of birds came to call – they were very friendly and if we were about during the day always came by the pool door in hope of something to eat. It was amazing in the 3 weeks we were there how much the baby grew.

DH appeared back around 4pm after visiting every golf shop in Orlando and stopping off at IHOP for a sneaky stack of pancakes. By this time we all went and got showered and ready for our night at Chef Mickeys.

We arrived early so we could look around the hotel shops and we sat for a while just watching from the windows – watching the clouds rolling in and the rain starting.

We were called on time for our meal and as usual Chef Mickey did not disappoint. The food was delicious and the characters were great. We all ate until we could not move and then ate some more. We all love the cheesy mash and the beef was cooked to perfection.

Once we were done we caught the monorail to the Magic Kingdom and although there was lots of puddles the rain had eventually stopped. We headed for fantasyland and rode Peter Pan and Small world then headed over to Mickey and Minnie house. DS was intrigued by these houses.

We then went on the Winnie the Pooh ride and then headed to POTC. By this time we needed to get a spot for the fireworks. As usual Wishes was fantastic and once finished we moved back to Fantasyland to ride Peter Pan again and then the Carousel. We then decided to try and find a spot for Spectomagic and got a great kerb spot on Main Street . As I sat by DS I watched as we was just captivated by the parade and waved and clapped as the parade passed.

We walked slowly out of the park buying DS the balloon that he gone on about all night (no balloon is worth $10) and then walked back to The Contemporary to pick up the car and home to bed at around 1am.

A nice lazy day by the pool. :thumbsup2

BTW - I love your pink dress Jackie! :goodvibes

Hi If you don't mind me asking where did you book your lovely villa through?
We are going october next year and are considering hiring a Villa.
Many thanks xxx

I defy anyone not to watch the fireworks with the castle in the foreground and not to feel their eyes mist up. It has been a few year's since we saw them because we hate getting back to the car but parking in the Contemporary (I presume that is where you had the meal) makes good sense to save time when you leave Magic Kingdom.

We just stayed onsite at Universal and Islands that day with a stint at the Florida Mall when it rained.

Nice to have a totally relaxing day away from the parks and managing to escape the dreaded golf shops. I escaped them, somehow, this year too, the hubbie spent more time buying clothes at the Malls.

Great day Jackie and another one here loving your pink dress:thumbsup2
