Jack-o-lanterns

My brother just carved his yesterday. I don't really like Halloween, so I didn't carve one this year. We usually go the "traditional look" with just the faces. Light with the candles and set on the porch.
BTW, I love those pumkins crazee4mickey. That is very creative. It would probably take like 30 to line our driveway though. LOL

Crazee4mickey, those are some awesome pumpkins! How many hours do you spend doing that? I thought we went all out, we only have one jack-o-lantern, but we completely decorate the outside of the house and yard. All the neighborhood kids come have been running up to me when I am out walking the dog saying they can't wait to trick-or-treat at our house because they love our decorations. I can't imagine carving that many pumpkins though.

We have 8 this year. Four large orange ones and 4 medium ghosties. We light them with candles for the week before Halloween. On Halloween night we light them with glow sticks. They look really neat with the different color glow sticks. I also feel better know that they trick or treaters aren't going to get the costumes on fire from the candles.

Crazee4mickey, those pumpkins look very familiar! LOL! I too used the Pumpkin Masters kits. We love those kits. I carved the witch, sorcerer, and dracula this year. We also got the batter operated saw they sell. It worked great for long areas.

I use the fake kind that take batteries. I know, it sounds awful. I am allergic to the pulp in the pumpkin. It makes my hands very sore. I tried using rubber gloves, but it was just to hard to do wearing them. I gave up and went fake!

I use a battery operated light. This year I got a battery operated tealight at Michael's and it flickers like a real candle. I recommend them. When I use a real candle I use a tealight.

We have one carved now and two more to go. All are lit with tea lights. We leave our pumpkins outside on our cement porch stairs. There is nothing near that is flammable. They usually blow out from the wind anyhow.

I didn't see any pumpkins in the grocery store today. I think Wilma blew them away.
I think HAlloween is canceled due to the hurricane.

We have 0, we live in a condo so no ToTR but we used to carve about 3 and use flash lights in them, so no risk of fires.

We just carved ours tonight and here it is!

We have 3 tealights in him!

I love decorating for Halloween almost as much as Christmas so I'm always wanting to see how others decorate.

We have 4 jack-o-lanterns on our front porch and we have a candle in each one. We have windows right next to our front door, so when I look to turn off the garage lights before I go to bed, I can see if the candles are still burning.

My DH is a fireman and he's not uncomfortable with using candles and I always trust his judgement with things like this.

We did our pumpkins today and with the 6 in our family working off and on it takes about 4-5 hours. I'm going to try and post pictures after tomorrow night on this year's pumpkins! We decorate our yard as well and we end up with around 200 trick or treaters a year! When school started in September the kids were asking on the first day "Are you going to have a scary house?" We love it!
