"Jack FM" "Bob FM" "Doug FM" any of these guys take over YOUR radio

I've been thrilled with the addition of JACK to the Nashville line-up! We have so many country stations (so many, in fact, that I have learned to like country!), and being in the deep South, we have a couple Contemporary Christian stations, that there just isn't enough room for all the different types of rock/pop stations. We essentially have 1 Top 40 station (107.5), 1 "party music" station (102.5), 1 "hard alternative" station (102.9), and 1 station that is, despite their claims to the contrary, nothing more than Easy Listening (97.1). JACK has been good enough to make me actually turn off my iPod and listen to the radio again!

97.1 has now become an Oldies station. There is also 105.9 which is classic rock, 100.1 which is alternative, and 92.9 which is light rock/easy listening. 102.9 is actually Top 40 CHR as well, I am not sure what you are meaning by "hard alternative" unless you are thinking of 102.1

I am not a country music or christian music fan at all so I could do without all those stations myself. But since this is the headquarters for that kind of music, I guess I'll just have to deal with it.

We really like our local DFW Jack Fm affiliate. It replaced a little-listened to station and happened to hit just as our favorite local station went through a big upheaval and fired my favorite DJ. I enjoy the true mix of songs and have heard lots of old favorites that I haven't heard in years!

We have Mike FM. I listen to it all day at work. I like it.

Who was it? Was it the guy on 102.9? I don't listen to morning radio much, but I noticed a while back that the old morning guy is gone (I can't remember his name, but I liked him okay).

I like JACK-FM fine, but they seemed to play more of a variety and somewhat obscure stuff when they first started. I listen to it sometimes, but I am a station jumper in the car. I can't stand listening to ads or talk on the radio.

For me the best thing about it is JACK's billboards - "Mike and the Mechanics Fixx Cars", "Pet Shop Boys Cure Stray Cats", "Scorpions Sting Barenaked Ladies", etc. There are a few others I've seen, too, but I can't remember them. They're clever and make me laugh .

Same here in Chicago. Took over an oldies station with DJ's we grew up with and replaced it with JACK. Yuck!

Wow.... I had no idea this thing was so widespread. I bet Disc Jockey everywhere are a little panicky about it.

We have JACK-FM in Mpls/St. Paul and I HATE, LOATHE, DETEST, it. They took over the 80's station that I was a faithful listener of. I miss the DJ's, I miss the station breaks and weather updates!! I hope it goes the way of the wayside SOON

ITA...I miss the 80s station and the 80s lunchtime reunion thing they did. Jack in MN does not play Jack as far as I'm concernted. Bring back Mix 104.1

That shows how long it's been since I have actually flipped through the FM dial here! I usually just listen to my iPod or NPR and would have never tried JACK had it not been for a commercial I saw: "JACK we play what WE want". I thought a radio station with that kind of attitude, especially here in Nashville, had to be somewhat interesting .
