Jack at Haunted Mansion?

Sorry, I just disagree...it seems WDW does too :confused3 --at least so far. Remember too, that an entire resort has been influenced by a 'children's movie' -- Animal Kingdom Villas (and some would argue, AKL as a whole).

What 'children's movie' is that themed on???

The same one I mentioned above. Kidani Village (aka Animal Kingdom Villas) is covered in Lion King references-inside and out. And it's fabulous:thumbsup2

I have stayed at Jambo and Kidani many times, and I've never noticed any Lion King influence. Not saying it's not there, but it can't be too prevalent if I've never noticed it.

You're kidding right??? In Kidani rooms, scenes from the LK are on the bathroom tiles, embossed on the curtains, carved into the furniture, etc. Elevators/areas are named for the characters... there's a start. I said "influenced" -- I certainly didn't mean "shoved down your throat tacky and obvious", but it's definitely there. Remember Lion King released in 1994 and the setting was an African savanna. It was a HUGE success. AK opened in 1998-I believe, then AKL in 2001...means absolutely nothing right?? Just coincidence I guess... (BTW, I do love your name Maistre Gracey...can't imagine what "influenced" that (smile).

You would also have a lot of angry guests during the weeks before and after the overlay due to the attraction being closed for instalation and the removal.

Last time we were there, the wait for HM was never over 20 minutes - the ride is not that big of an attraction, I don't see to many people getting that upset. (BTW, it's far and away my favorite ride from all 4 parks).
The closing of TSM in August and the several months the Star Tours will be down will have far more impact, I think.
IMHO the Haunted Mansion Holiday would be huge in Orlando.

...A NBC overlay is not going to bring enough guests to warrent the cost.

The merchandise sales would more than make up for it!

NBC has a HUGE global appeal, especially with the teens and young adults....

Sorry, I just disagree...

I don't: whenever I am wearing my DLR Haunted Mansion Holiday sweatshirt, I get comments along the lines of "I Love that movie" or "that's my favorite movie"

The wait is so short because it is one of the highest capacity rides at WDW, 3200 people per hour. That is 700 more people per hour than space mountain. Don't confuse lack of line for lack of popularity.

If it's not that popular, why does Disney have special NBC merchandise areas in every park of WDW?

You can get NBC everything from pins to hats to your very own urn!

I also see people wearing NBC merchandise on every single visit and we typically go at least once a week.

Well they are taking down It's A Small World for an extended period so maybe they can add Nightmare to that?? Now that sounds fun! ;) :thumbsup2
That would actually get me on It's A Small World again. ;)

Maybe just having it at DLR will convince more people to make a visit to the other coast, where they will NOT be disappointed.
For a while now my DH and I have discussed going to Disneyland specifically to see Haunted Holiday, so I agree there.

And you have to remember, the TSM and ST rehabs are permanent, not Holiday overlays.

I realize that, my point was closing Haunted Mansion for 3 weeks would have less of an impact than closing 1/2 of the most popular rides at DHS, no matter of the changes are permanent or temporary.

OMG!!! My favorite ride isn't at WDW??? NNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I was planning on riding that at least twice when I go to MNSSHP. Man, I am really glad I played hooky last year one day to go meet Jack and Sally in person during October. That trip is my favorite trip ever to Disney. My then 2 year old DD LOVED that overlay on HM, whereas she was scared on regular HM.

Well, I guess now I will have more time at MNSSHP to do other things. :scared1:
