I have 2 kids that will need a stroller when we travel this January. We are staying at POP so we will be going on and off the bus. We have 4 adults and 2 kids so we have plenty of helping arms. I am already thinking 2 strollers are better than a double. What do you suggest? Links to items would also be helpful :goodvibes

TIA!

We went in September with an almost 3-year old and a 10 month old. We used the Joovy Sit-n-Stand stroller since DS3 likes to be able to walk as well. With this stroller he could jump on the back and stand/ride for a bit or if really tired, sit and ride on the back. DD then sat in the front. The only downside to this stroller is that the front seat does not recline too much so it was not much good for DD taking catnaps...she preferred to have mommy hold her for that anyway. It folds pretty flat so it wasn't overly cumbersome folding up for busses. Another con is that the basket underneath is not real big but we just hung the diaper backpack off the handles. Sorry, I'm not sure how to post links but I think we got ours at Amazon. It was around $150. Despite the couple of cons listed above, I was VERY happy with it. In the airport it mostly served as a luggage cart but was no issue gate checking it.

Good luck!

Maclaren strollers are very good if pricey.
Whatever you choose, I suggest going with the LIGHTEST one you can find. You have to lift it many times - esp at teh end of the day when you're beat. Also, it is good to pick something that is easy to fold and folds fairly compactly (esp. if you're trying to stuff your whole family plus luggage into a rental car).
I understand that is is pretty hard to find one with all the features you might want. A sunshade is helpful but not totally necessary, recline is a good feature, a large storage basket is very handy, and cup holders also come in handy at WDW - though, if you're like us, you'll mostly use them for water bottles.

I think it's also helpful to get one that's somehow distinct in color. You might like a navy blue stroller for the mall - but the neon green one is great at WDW because it's easy to find! (or, like like luggage at the airport, you can peronalize it with brightly colored stickers)

Did I mention that having somethig lightweight is good?

We just went in September with my family - 7 adults and 4 kids under 4. We had my parents and all three of us sisters. One sister is single, the the other one and I both have a 3 1/2 year old and an 11 month old. My sister took a joovey and my husband and I took 2 Mac Quests (had to recline for naps!!!). I loved our decision to take 2 strollers. It made it easy to divide and conquer!! I also second the call for lightweight strollers. It's a must!! My sister loved her Joovy - but had issues when her 3 1/2 DS would fall asleep in the front - leaving her to carry her 11 month old DD for an hour or more. When it's hot out - having that baby all snuggled up against you can REALLY raise your temp!! One other thing to note is that my son (3 1/2) is - how shall I say it - independent. It was nice to be able to carry the colapsed stroller while chasing him around the bus stop, etc. My husband could carry the stroller, the diaper bag, and still keep up with him. I had the other stroller, the baby in the carrier and "goodies" bag.
My sister's son actually listens so she had no problem carrying her daughter and the gear while her husband took care of the stroller.
But - to each her own!!!

My sister bought a Maclaren for both her kids (age 5 & age 2) and she swears by them. Very easy to fold, but yet has enough bells and whistles to make the kids love to sit and possibly sleep in them. I believe she got this one (the child weight can go up to 65 pounds):

IMO, you want to take a stroller that the kids think is very comfortable so they can have some resting time in the stroller. If the kids aren't comfortable, then they won't rest and it may make for some unhappy campers.

We went in Oct with our 3 kids, ages 12 months, 2 3/4, and almost 4. We only took one stroller, our Joovy Sit 'N Stand....loved it for this trip! The baby rode in the front and the 2 older kids took turns on the back and even rode it together sometimes. The older kids walked most of the time, but it was nice to have the extra space when they needed it. It was also great in the airports (easy to gate check). I love this stroller - and it's lightweight (for a double, which as you know are HEAVY!).

Hi and welcome to DIS neighbor!

Anyone I know that owns a Mac loves it.

We went with the Aira twin Peg pergo because I really needed the kids to have a tray across them for snacks. Also I don't tend to buckle the older kids in and the tray helped keep them in. Now that they are bigger we don't even put the trays on so they can get in and out as they like. It is a good stroller and in 6 trips to WDW we have been very pleased with it.

I am not a fan of the sit and stand myself. My best friend got one and took it back after just a week. She had a duo glide while at WDW and her older son kept falling asleep in the front and falling out. Finally his dad had to carry him. It wasn't fun. I can imagine a sit and stand would be no better. (I just posted this on another thread, so strange.)

I am the lone maclaren hater, I guess! I have a Volo and thought it was really rickety and thought maybe I got a bad one or something since everyone seems to love them. When I had my second DD this summer, I bought the maclaren Twin Techno and I hate that one too! It was an expensive mistake, but I really couldn't handle the weight of all the other doubles out there that I had seen.

I plan to get the Phil and ted's Sport double before our next trip and sell the others since the doubles part can come off and be a single when you need it to be. And it is lighter than the Mountain Buggy or baby Jogger, which were hard for me to lift to put in the back of my SUV.

One thing I'd wouldn't use at WDW is one of those baby carriers. Last year we saw a woman trip while using one. She managed to twist and keep the baby from hitting the pavement (as far as we could tell) but she injured herself to do so. We saw blood and saw her carried away on a stretcher. I don't she was TOO badle injured, but yikes! I wouldn't want to chance it. AS far as we could tell she was otherwise by herself. I can't imagine going to an emergency room with an infant by yourself!
