I've tried so hard NOT to ask this but now I need to know....

This will truly show what I like to call my "lack of Disney do's" (I have soooo many of them I'm afraid to start asking)

but for some reason, at this very moment, I feel I need to know the following answer....

Why does everyone want a LTT PS for MVMCP? I feel like I'm missing the boat --- we're going to MVMCP on 11/28 but I never once thought about a PS for the night... then I start reading the boards and over the past month or so everyone talks about LTT -- are there no other dining options for that night? We're having T'giving at LTT a few days prior --- do I want to do LTT 2 times in a trip?

As always, thanks for the guidance! :p

We ate a Crystal Palace last time at 5:05...I guess to each their own but I have never tried LTT before and I want to be in the parks early before the party...

Probably better ansewers out there...:)

Asking questions is how we learn. :D

As for LTT I dont get it either. That menu doesnt really appeal to me. Plus from what Ive heard you can get into MK with your MVMCP ticket at 4:00. I would want to get there at 4:00(if I werent using a ticket that day) and spend the whole time doing attractions. Id prefer to get a late lunch outside the park somewhere. This obviously isnt the thing to do, LOL but its my preference. ;)

I am SOOOO glad you asked this question! I have been wondering this too - what's the big deal with eating at LTT during MVMCP? Maybe the characters are dressed in Christmas theme to go along with the party atmosphere?

I have eaten at LTT and didn't love it. I thought I was alone! Just not impressed with the atmosphere or the food. The character interaction was great but there are other character meals with better food.

We are doing LTT before MNSSHP because for us we will be there during our Thanksgiving(Canadian) and LTT has the closest thing to a Thanksgiving meal.

We ate at LTT before MNSSHP in 2002 and it was fun but not a "must do". The characters were in Halloween costumes. Really, eat where you want to that night, and if you already have a PS there for another time it's not worth eating there twice since there's so many other places to eat. We like the food pretty good.

I made ressies in case can't get CP 90 days out I have LTT already. I want to be right there. I hear they give you wristband before 7 if you have one when they empty park you can stay but they put you somewhere like tomorrowland in a holding pattern. I don't think you can ride rides or anything you just have to wait. Why not eat dinner will give my kids something to do rather than stand around wait.

of our first MNSSHP last year... but we didn't use them. Instead we just went over to Tomorrowland and grabbed some chicken with mashed potatoes from counter service. It was less expensive, pretty tasty and we didn't waste any time! I would not recommend a sit-down meal before MNSSHP. For us, we were just too excited to sit still for long!

Personally...if eating at liberty tree tavern..especially on a special event night..would choose lunch at ltt. The menu is fantastic.
I would never waste one bit of party time..even early in the evening sitting at dinner.

First - Jennymouse, what an adorable baby!!

I, too have wondered what I was missing. I've never even thought about going to LTT before I bought my MVMCP tickets and started reading the posts. My question is, if we are in the park, and decide to eat at, say Pecos Bill's, will they close it down at a certain time or will it stay open??

Well, I've done LTT before 2 of my 3 MVMCP. I never have dinner during the actual party, instead I get PS at 5. We have our dinner, finish up around 6 or so, and then you're deep in the park as opposed to over in Tomorrowland. The first time I did this we were allowed to wander over to Splash Mountain and start riding well in advance of the party start time. I also enjoy the food and character interaction at LTT. The Christmas decorations are great, too! You won't have a bad time if you don't eat there, though!

Enjoy your party!

Erin :D

DH and I had lunch at LTT late 2003/early 2004. We were both totally unimpressed by the food, theming, and service. I would just as soon do counter service.

I think LTT is popular with the Halloween & Christmas party because you can make a PS at the time you purchase your tickets to the party. All the other restaurants you have to wait til the 90 days.

The first year we went to MVMCP, we ate a late lunch at GF, then went over to the party. The second time, we tried to eat at a counter service, but many of them were already closed. We ordered a pizza when we got back to our room.

Last year, for MNSSHP, I made a PS for an early dinner so we could be in the park before the actual party. We enjoyed our dinner, but it wasn't anything to rave about.

This year, for the Christmas party, we're hoping to eat at Crystal Palace. But I have to wait for the 90 day window.

We ate at Cosmic Rays before MVMCP. We got in there right at 6 PM when MK closed, before most of the crowd found their way there.

::yes:: That is why...
You can book LTT as soon as you buy your tickets to either party. Some people book LTT and then at the 90 day mark of the party they will try to get a PS for Chef Mickeys or Crystal Palace, but if they can't get it, at least they have LTT.

I have been to several party's and have eaten at LTT every time. I like to eat in the park so that when the party starts (7pm) we are away from most of the crowds since most guests are kept in tomorrowland. (we eat at 5:30 usually so we are out by 6:30 most of the time)

We can then make it over to the nearest family photo stop and get that done first thing!

Hope this answered your question!!

I've done Chef Mickey's before, LTT before and CP twice before...I prefer eating a meal while the park is closed. I tried heading to Tomorrowland around 6:30p last year and it was crazy crowded for my taste.

LTT is popular because you can book it so early. Those early planners can't help themselves.;) And for MNSSHP the characters wear masks.

I prefer CP myself.

IMHO, though, if you change your mind about LTT, please be kind and cancel that PS because there are many people who are desperate for a LTT (and even CP) PS who couldn't get it and you're canceling it would make their day/vacation!

When I first made my PS before a party, it was before they started letting people in before the party started and it was a not well known secret that eating before the party would get you in and let you stay in the park early. Everyone else had to either leave the park or wait for the start of the party to enter. That was back when they'd close the park for 2 hours to clear it out. Back then it was a major benefit to eat in the park while it was closed.

To each his own. Some want to get in as many rides as possible and don't want to take any time away eating a sit down meal, others don't want to be stuck in Tomorrowland for that hour or don't want to rely on counter service. Only Cosmic Rays is open for that hour I believe.

FYI... The rides will be open in Tomorrowland for that hour.

So... if we are going to the MNSSHP and we arrive at the park at 4 or 5 or whatever and DO NOT have PS, we can only eat at Cosmic Rays? We enjoy LTT but ate there last trip and did not really want to do it again so soon. Can I book CP? Is any other table service or counter service open? I quess I could call and ask but the phones are probably crazy today following the storm, may wait until Monday and see what I can get.

Here's a link to events and things open last year. There will be other fast food/counter service open BUT only Cosmic Rays is open between 6 and 7.

CP, the Castle and Tony's will also take PS till 6:00p on party nights.

My in-laws all had T'giving dinner at LTT several years ago and LOVED it. They are STILL talking about it. I probably wouldn't want to do LTT twice in the same trip. Crystal Palace is very nice, and we love counter service at Cosmic Ray's--just make sure you ask what time you have to be there the night of the party. It sounds like an advantage of LTT is being close when the party starts. I did read on another thread that the rides in Tomorrowland are open while you wait for the party to start.
