When I reserved today, I don't remember the MS agent tell me if I had a dedicated or lock off 2BR?? Do I have to request one or the other? Or will I get what I get? My wife isn't to keen on the lock off and I'm not sold on it either. What do you guys think?? Thanks as always!!

Almost always if you don't ask for a lock off you will get a dedicated by default. You can call back and make sure though.

You can check your reservation on the member website and it will show you the type of room.

Dedicated is guaranteed booking category at Kidani. Thus, you should usually request it if you actually want it. If it is not shown on reservation, call and request the dedicated. if you actually want it

The major differences between dedicated and lock-off: (a) dedicated has only one entry door, lock-off has two, one for 1BR and one for the studio portion; (b) second bedroom in dedicated does not have the mini kitchen like the studio in the lock-off does; result is that dedicated second bedroom feels larger than lock-off studio; (c) dedicated second bedroom has two queen beds, lock-off studio has queen and couch that pulls out to a double (not queen); (d) single door to second bedroom in dedicated and in lock-off you have the double door; (e) dedicated has internet hook-up only in master bedroom, lock-off has it there and in studio.

Thanks for the responses. I went to me DVC member page and on the right side of the page under "View Vacation Details" it listed that I had a Dedicated 2BR. So I have the first 5 days of our vacation booked. Just need the last two days I waitlisted for to come through. Thanks again all. I'm sure to be back with more questions about Kidani!!

Add to the list that a lock-off has it's own AC/heater thermostat in the bedroom since it is actually a studio.
