I've never been enamored with AKV....

until i saw the Kidani Village preview photos. I just looked through the photos on allears that Jack Spence took and it looks absolutely beautiful. It may have just jumped to the top of my list of "the best DVC resort to stay when on a no park trip."

BTW, I'm not really sure why I AKV has never really interested me that much before now.

Some people think Jambo House is too dark for them.

Peter Dominick, the architect, really let the light in at Kidani and used vibrant colors, while keeping the theme in tact. So, there is now a choice, dark and earthy or bright and earthy. I like both, actually.

It's a shame that Dominick passed away. He really created some magic with his designs, which includes Wilderness Lodge and Grand Californian Hotel.

I agree with photobob. Not a fan of the Jambo darker interiors but I really like the lighter brighter look of Kidani. My DD and I are giving a Jambo value studio a try in June and I wanted to change some of our August trip to Kidani for comparison. BUT DH says he only wants to try one new resort at a time. He's still a little miffed that we're not at SSR, even though BWV is closer to his favorite parks, Epcot and DHS.

I have a Oct stay planned, I can't wait. I plan on going over next week to look at it. We are at Jambo house.
