But we were so diappointed with the food at Chef Mickey's 2 weeks ago. We went for breakfast and I have to say that even my 5 year old DS said, we don't have to eat here anymore. The food was bland and luke warm, even the coffee was extraordinarily weak. The best thing about the breakfast was the OJ, ouch!!! :sad2:

Everyone at our table voted to go to O'hana for our character breakfast for now on, anyone else noticed a decline in the food? We've been so many times before and I just don't remember the food being that bad.:sad1:

We had dinner there once several years ago and the food was so bad that we never went back. The $$$ bill totally added insult to injury. Is such a shame... :sad2:

Haven't tried Ohana, but the Crystal Palace has an AWESOME breakfast spread! It is also quieter than Chef Mickey's, and Pooh & Pals come around quite frequently.

We did Chef Mickey's for dinner last year and were also very disappointed in the food. Bland is a good word for it. We also felt rushed, it was not a relaxing meal. We chose not to schedule a return visit to CM this year.

I have eated there many times over the past 5 years. I've never thought the food was good at all. Aside from the characters, I never got the "hype".:confused3

I haven't been to CM, but I've been disappointed in the buffets at Disney (with one exception - Boma). Other than Boma, the last buffet we tried was Hollywood & Vine (before it became a character meal), and after that horrible experience, we no long do buffets.

I've done Breakfast and Dinner at Boma and love both. I have heard that CP has a good spread, but it is always crowded and I figure it would be quite loud so I just opt for other places.

I figure we can see the characters in the parks... sacrificing food quality just to have them walk to the table isn't worth it for us.

Sorry you had a problem he. We never did for breakfast or Dinner.

Same here. We did enjoy the 'Ohana breakfast, tho. And we've always enjoyed our meals at Garden Grill (epcot).

I know dinner at CM stinks but I am starting to hear alot of negative things about the breakfast too...I think I am going to change our ressie to Tusker House instead.

I am glad to hear such great things about Ohana, we are eating there in 3 weeks!

With so many negative reviews, I hope that people are complaining to the managers. The only way they know that the food is substandard is to hear it from guests.

Low attendance probably won't happen since people love CM for the characters and there are relatively few TS choices to manage all the guests WDW has. Since attendance probably won't go down because of poor food, then they need to hear it from the guests there!

I hope they get the message before Jan - we have an ADR for breakfast!:)

Another family here that does not care for CM. Sorry CM fans !! We ate breakfast there in 2000 and did not like it at all. My DH will eat anything as long as it is dead and he has never wanted me to rebook it nor my kids. We were talked into it again last Oct. for dinner this time. Again, we did not care for it. The families we traveled with allways eat there and had no problem with it that night. Must say that out of the 5 families that ate there they were the only ones that loved it. The rest said, it was OK but would not return.

Either you love it or well its OK, not a must do for us though. At least we won't be taken up ADR space.

We haven't done CM since 2004 for dinner. It was okay. Loved the atmosphere and stuff, but the food was only so-so. We always preferred CM's breakfast. We are diehard Crystal Palace breakfast eaters every year. We don't do Ohanas because we do not like Stitch. We are trying Boma this year thanks to MickeyNicki's glowing reviews. And we absolutely refuse to ever step foot in H&V again--tied for the worse meal ever at Disney.

We did dinner at CM in '06 - we also weren't impressed with the food. Of course I'll also say that in terms of the number of characters that can been seen there it's pretty good and likely why it is still a major draw for ADR's.

Very reluctantly I booked a breakfast ADR at CM for this upcoming trip. Both my wife and I would have rather done Crystal Palace again - food there is much better in our opinion - but we're travelling with another family and our kids and their son prefer the "classic" characters to Pooh & Friends.

So, I'll admit that I'm not too happy to hear that people are now becoming less than impressed with the breakfast fare too. My wife and I refused to book a dinner there and settled on breakfast with the logic of "how badly can you screw up a breakfast buffet?"

I guess I'll just keep telling myself that we're there on Free Dining so even if the food isn't great - at least we're not paying an arm and a leg for it. :headache:

I agree with the OP. We took our goddaughter's a couple years ago to celebrate one of their birthdays. The character interaction was great, but not worth the price of the buffet. We felt like we could have easily got comparable food or better at any other buffet, for a better price offsite.

Another vote against CM. We had breakfast there last year and no one really liked it. The year before we had dinner there and it was the same thing, no one really liked it

we went last year and it was gross! I will never eat there again....the only reason we did was to see mickey and minnie. How in the world do you mess up breakfast? I will stick to park fare at the GF they have one of the best I have ever had....

Okay, the consensus about bad food at CM's is stressing me out! I finally got a dinner ADR for CMs for our upcoming trip -- the first time we'll eat at CMs because DS (4) has been asking to have a meal with Mickey. It is also the last buffet of our trip. I'm going to be so upset if we all end up disliking the food given how much we're paying. We go to Crystal P every year for dinner and enjoy the food and characters there. What should I do now? Keep or find another Mickey alternative? Since we don't do big breakfasts the only other Mickey character meal is the Garden Grill in Epcot, right? Isn't that character meal being discontinued?

Yes, Garden Grill is being discontinued.

Well I had tried to get breakfast at Chef M's,and then really looked at the menu, and I said hey I will pass, so I ended up with lunch and I am to the point what am I going to do? I will be paying OOP for this then I have been Hit with the new menu at 1900 Park Fare no shrimp and that the new food is no GOOD, this is my first time to WDW what are we to do?????

We eat there several times each trip - I think we have 2 or 3 breakfasts scheduled for Oct. We've never had a problem with the eggs, pancakes, bacon, potatos, fruit and baked goods. Sometimes food has been warm instead of hot but I've just mentioned it to someone behind the buffet and they bring out a new batch.
