Well, I've just gone and booked it - Pop Century with DDP:cloud9: . I know I said that we had no plans to go back to WDW, but what with getting the new job and having a nice lump severance pay from my previous company I thought "what the heck" and went ahead with it.:tinker: DD, who was absolutely knackered is now super hypo :hyper:

So, its now on with the planning, booking up of restaurants etc.

A couple of questions:

What are the best rooms at the PC? We don't want it too noisy and we dont want to be in any smoking room.

When and how do you book up the Mickeys Not So Very Scary Party?

Le Cellier, O'Hanas, Whispering Canyon, Bomas, The Liberty Tree etc. beware, we're on our way back!:dance3:

We have also booked at the POP Century. There is a very good thread on the resort page only snag is it is at least 20 pages long:eek: Do you live in the Hull area by any chance?

have found that pop is a well spaced out resort, weve usaly stayed near the computer pool. Its close for the buses, and not far from food court.Dont forget the adrs for the plan (plenty of food). We have stayed at pop plenty of times and have found it one of our fav resorts.

that's great news!!! Congrats! :cool1:

Great news!!

Pop is a brilliant hotel! If you dont want a really long hike to the food court then avoid the 90s building as its quite far out. We stayed in the 50s building and it was great. It was right by the Hippy Dippy pool which is lovely and only a 2 min walk to the food court. If you want a quiet room then its best to request one that is facing the lake as people swim till past midnight in the pools. :goodvibes

Excellent news Richard ~ Looks as though you will be there the same time we are:)

Its a good resort, if you like quiet then we had the top floor on the 50's and that was nice and quiet :) Tops floor rooms seem to be furthest away from the noisey children, the only noisy part was b the hippy dippy pool in the 1960's building.

Tickets have not been released yet for MNSSHP, when they are relased you can cal and book them, but last year it was not until the summer that the dates were released.

Sounds as though things are all starting to look up at last, Richard. :thumbsup2

I must be the only person who didn't really like POP! we were in the 80's building and the hike to the food court was just plain ridiculous, when we moved to POFQ for the second week we felt like we'd died and gone to heaven. Much more my kind of place. I loved ASMo when we were there so it wasn't the difference between value and mod that really made the difference, I'm not sure what it was really. The 3 and a half hours it took to check in probably started us off on the wrong foot, and then with the three mile hike to take cases to our room after our already 25hour non stop travelling set the pace for the week.

(having said that - a bad week in POP is still better than a good week in work!)

We loved Pop but I think if we had been in the 80s or 90s building and had to do the long hike to the food court that you had to then we would not of been quite so keen. If you had had the building we were then I bet you would have loved it. :)

probably Jen, but I feel a resort of that size really should have had two food courts

We're going for 10 days on the 19th. Hoping to book the MNSSHP. Is it bedlam on the night?[/QUOTE said:
No idea - have never been in October before. Worrying about everything at the moment...about the crowds and about the weather. Normally go in May, when we really enjoy hot, hot days and wonderfully warm nights! Hoping to book the MNSSHP for the night of Tuesday 16th but have no idea when the tickets will be on sale.:confused3

No, youre not the only one and we stayed in the 50s building during the free dining plan period last August! I much preferred the All Stars as did the kids. I had a mass of problems, including bad mousekeeping, smoke leaking through the air con, never being able to do the laundry until after midnight (queues for machines) and ridiculous crowds. The food court and shop area was a bottleneck all the time. I still had a very good holiday but would not choose to stay in Pop again. Lots of people love it though and we are in that minority too I guess.

I have to agree with you too, I really did not like the Pop.
Our room was drab, dark, with a horrible carpet, torn bedding, and smelt of stale cigarettes.
It was really noisy. I didn't feel it was Disney quality.
Sorry for me it was a big thumbs down. I am glad we were only there one night. Maybe I had just been unlucky here, as most people do seem to like it.
We dont go to Disney to spend time in our room, but when we are in it, I dont like to think I am sleeping in an ash tray.

Thank goodness for that! I thought I was the only one.
