I have posted here about my foot and all the trouble I have had trying to get a diagnosis on it. Well it is looking more and more like it is a nuroma. Still waiting to get a ultra sound on it. So I have to wear a walking boot on it. I am short and the walking boots are made for people that are 6' tall not 4' 8" tall. The rash that I posted about they think is a skin problem (no kidding) but they have found an ointment that should clear it up and they are setting me up an appointment with a dermitologist. Okay so things are looking better. My ball tournament this weekend was going to be a bit of a problem but thought I could deal with it. I am the coach not playing this year. Now the bigger problem. The foot problem I have had is on the right (drivers foot) side. Last night my son left his biggg shoes in the hall with the light off. The shoes are black. Me with this big boot stumbled on them and hit the wall. My right foot hurt because of being slammed and I hurt my wrist with it going into the corner of the wall. I was mad but thought it would be okay. I wake up this morning to find my left foot is swollen and has a bruise on the top of it. Found out this afternoon that I have a twisted ankle and slightly torn ligaments on the top of my foot. Because of the boot on the one side I will have to wear tensor bandages on the left and I am not to walk at all on either foot. I'm ready to shoot someone.

I have had a neuroma removed and extremely severe Plantar Fasciitis in both feet that has left me disabled much of the last few years. Believe me, I know your pain and frustration.

A few thoughts-- I haven't read your other posts so I don't know your whole story. Can they do a cortisone shot for the neuroma?

They make those boots in several different sizes, there are some that only go up about half way which may be more comfortable for you. I highly recommend a nice soft fluffy hand towel under the boot-- wrap it around your leg before you put the boot on. It made a ton of difference. I wore a boot for almost 2 years, it does get much easier to get around in as you get used to it. But you aren't supposed to drive with it on your right foot-- I hope they told you that.

No putting any weight on the feet is horrible-- been there, done that. Can you get a wheelchair temporarily? Yeah, it sucks but it is sure better than being stuck in the house watching daytime TV. It is good to be able to at least continue with your activities if you have help from family and friends.

I was very strict with my kids about having to keep walkways clear and they had the wrath of mom and dad if they didn't. And please be sure to not walk around in the dark!;)

I suffered with my neuroma for about 5 years and finally had it removed and don't regret it one bit. So if that ends up being what they recommend then hopefully it will be a good solution for you also.

Take it easy and rest. I have learned a whole lot about the value of one's feet and taking care of them.

lovetoscrap thanks for the encouragment. They are still investigating but figure that it is a nuroma. The Dr. has said that we will be looking at the shots. As for the boot, my foot is a size 5 and they have a small boot for that but my calves are very muscular so they have had to put me in a small rather than an xtra small. Also, my leg is very small (as I am only 4'8" tall) or rather short I guess so what would normally be well below the knee comes to my knee.
As well my problem is you are right, I can't drive with the boot, I can't drive anyway because of the pain. I have to find people to drive me. My husband and son who would drive me are gone until 7 p.m. I have so much to do and can't do it. I am so frustrated. Now I have to call my Dr. and ask her to give me a prescription for crutches. I hope she won't give me grief.

Wow, I had to post because we just got back from WDW. There was this gentlemen with these usual shoes. I thought they were some kind of fashion shoe. They had a spring on the bottom. Me being nosy , I had to ask him where he got his them. He told me that he had Nueroma. I had never heard of it before. He said he had been wearing them for about 5 years. They have helped him tremendously. He had incredible pain but now could walk the parks at Disney.

I don't know if it could help you now but I had to post as this gentlemen had the same thing and these shoes helped him out.

I hope you feel better soon.
