I can not believe this! The closer we get to our vacation, the more blue I become. :lmao:

It's very similar to what I felt just before I got married...you know...those awful pre-wedding jitters.

I keep thinking horrible thoughts like...

What if the Remember fireworks are cancelled after we spent 2 hours staking out our spot?

What if Soarin' breaks down while we're there?

What if we run out of money and have nothing to eat?

What if DL is so crowded that we get locked out of the park while we're riding Soarin' over in DCA?

What if someone gets sick just before we leave?

Geesh...I gotta get a grip! :lmao:

I kinda go through this too, except my "what ifs" are more about danger.

Like what if our plane (gulp) crashes. This could be the last few weeks of our lives. (That is so morbid, I know.):sad2:

What if we lose track our youngest DS (4) in DL, and we can't find him.

What if we get in a car accident in our rental car.

What if DLR gets hit by terrorists. (Another very morbid thought. I have a sick mind. :rolleyes1 )

I don't worry about the parks though, or rides breaking down, or missing a show or parade or ADR, ect. We've been there enough that those kind of things don't stress us out anymore.

I would say just relax and go with the flow. Try not to worry about those things. Whatever will be, will be.:thumbsup2

Omgawd! I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one that thinks these things just before going on vacation

What if there is a 7.1 earthquake and you get trapped in the elevator of TOT and there is nobody to unlock the seatbelts and you DIE!!!!!

What if there is a horrible wildfire and Disneyland burns down!!!!

What if you get Dreamed and you get to sleep in the suite for one night!!

(it can go both ways) Relax have fun.........

My biggest fear is the flight.. I dont go till Jan and kid u not I am already haveing bad dreams about the flight... They r gunna have give me something to mellow my but out before I leave for the airport... lol

Ahhhh...morbidity....
I am also a sufferer! It also affects me in dream form. The other night I had an epic dream that was all about DL mishaps. We were trapped inside POTC for one part. The dream was so long that I can't recall the whole thing.

Pyrateswife....have you flown much before??

I was terrified about our flight home...(internally) I couldn't/wouldn't express it out loud because of the kids of course...they were perfectly unafraid and unphased...like they'd done it a thousand times!. However, I was really very pleasantly surprised....I had built it up to be soooo frightening in my mind, that by the time the real thing came along...it was sooo much smoother than I had feared! I had only ever been in a plane once before...I was 15 and it was only about 30 minutes...so I didn't have much to go by.

I have so many unreasonable fears.....but I'm getting better as I get older :)

yes we flew to disneyland a few years ago.. I am one of those ppl u see silently crying upon take off.. u dont hear me but u can see my tears a fallin... lol.. it is embarassing.. but I am just terrified.. but I cant let that stop me from going to disney.. I dont know how to get over it.. but I am serious when I say I am already having nightmares.... what to do.. :confused3 I just dont sit by the window and pray it is not a bumpy ride.. anyone else scared to fly or is it just me?:scared: What makes it worse is we leave kansas city stop in denver and then fly into John Wayne... that is 4 take offs and 4 landings ( if it all goes ok) for the trip... oh boy.. lol

To the OP, I had that sort of worry before our trip. Not the big disaster sorts of things, but the little concerns that would cause the trip to be remembered negatively.

And in fact DURING the trip I had a little breakdown b/c I was focusing on the "bad" stuff, and DH needed to remind me of the GOOD stuff going on. Silly me. If only I could have forced myself to nap during the trip, I probably wouldn't have had that moment. But I digress.

I think it's normal and OK. Just breathe. And if you like such things, or want to experiment, I have found that the homeopathic product Rescue Remedy is amazing and wonderful and can calm down a charging rhino (well, OK, maybe just a mind that feels like a rhino is rampaging through it). :)

My fear with this upcoming trip next month is flying alone with the kids. I have never flown alone with my kids. We always travel as a family. I keep dreaming I am going to lose or forget ds4 somewhere....I know a stupid dream just like leaving the baby in the carseat on the roof of the car dream! My best advice is to try not to stress over things you have no control over and if something happens you will cross that bridge when you get to it. It is suppose to be fun go with the flow and have a backup plan!

Have faith my DL friends!!! Go with the flow and have a blast!

My worries are things like long lines, show cancels and what if we miss something fun kinda things.

Let go of the things that are out of your control. Like disasters and shut downs of rides. Spend your energy on enjoying the magical moments inside all of our favorite place: DISNEYLAND!!!

Ok...I THOUGHT this post was going to consist of: Scared my 3yo will behave horribly, or frightened my older DC will be bored, scared we may spend more than we planned.....those are MY fears.

But after reading this post....ya'll have freaked the poo out of me!!!!!!!!!! :scared:

....ya'll have freaked the poo out of me!!!!!!!!!! :scared:[/QUOTE]

You mean "Pooh" out of you? Ha...corny I know. I couldn't resist!

So my "blues" are knowing that my DL trip will be over soon.:sad1:
I am not a very good flier (ie. :guilty: Cried ,by myself, on the flight from LAX to SFO, got off the plane, called DH and asked him to talk me thru the next leg of my trip. Of course he asked when the last time I ate was. Me sniffing, I...had...a...brownie...in..LA. I was totally ready to rent a car and drive the 8 hours home.)
So, a while ago I read somewhere that you are more likely to win a Mega Million lottery, than get in a plane crash. You have a 1 in 278 chance of getting into a car wreak. It had other things too, but that is what I remembered.

The main thing I'm worried about happening is that my boyfriend will start thinking of all the things that you've just mentioned and start having a panic attack as we go to board the plane.

I can just imagine me standing there, watching the plane take off as DBF is hyperventilating in a corner because he just couldn't go through with it... *shudder*

All I can say is I think I would just go without him... :rotfl:

Am I the only one terrified that our family will come down with the flu the day before our flight? Worse, that we'll all come down with the stomach flu? I'm already stocking up on Airborne, Coldeeze, Zicam and Immodium (just in case). I'm not a hypochrondriac, just anxious by nature. Or, as my son's pediatrician so nicely worded it - vigilant

You're not the only one. I plan on upping my Ginseng that month & we ALL will be on Airborne & immune boosting foods/supplements come Dec/Jen. Seems like January has been a bad month for us regarding viruses. Fingers are crossed!!!!

I have had 3 DL nightmares since July, when I started planning our upcoming trip. They have always consisted of us not getting anything accomplished. I can't get everyone moving, or no one agrees on what to ride next, and we end up only doing 2 rides the first day. Some of this comes from the fact that I can't expect us to get to the park until 2:00 or 3:00 our first day and as you all know, the parks are closing early these days.

Travel stress is normal to a certain degree, I think. I try to remind myself that I have never gone to DL and NOT had fun. I just feel pressured to make sure my nephews and my sister see as much as possible since this is their first trip, the kids are being pulled out of school, and they are coming all the way from Iowa.

OK so my dd DID get sick on HER 3rd BIRTHDAY (while we were there) AND they cancelled Remember Fireworks - the only night we were actually able to watch them ....... BUT on the other hand.... We did get DREAMED TWICE!!! (Both times Dream Fast Passes!! 2 seperate days!)

So even though we had a few mishaps, it was a FANTASTIC trip!! No worries. Even if some unplanned things happen - the magic there is so great, your bound to still have a great time!

I mean you could be home, say, doing dishes!!

Cheers!

I am very apprehensive about the flight...not so much that something bad will happen to it/on it, but of how my DS 10 will do. His first trip to DL when he was 8 was also his first real plane ride (I say real because his actual first trip he was an infant) and it's a very long flight from the east coast to the west coast! He is autistic and perseverates on things, and once he decided he was ready to get off, that was it, he was ready to get off and couldn't stop saying it, over and over, for literally hours. It was just the two of us and I was really worried he was going to go into full-blown meltdown mode. Luckily it didn't get that bad, I was able to keep him under control. This time it's the whole family going, so DH will be there to help with him also. We have a better dvd player now than we did then, that one only held a charge for about an hour so that didn't help much for 6 hours in the air each way, so hopefully we can keep him entertained with movies.
