I've got an email pin code!! But it's not for me.

OK, I got an email pin code for 40% off. :thumbsup2 The bad thing is, it's not for me :sad1: I had ordered my little brother a vacation dvd and used my email address and they sent the pin code under his name ! So, my question is, can I use this pin code? Or can he book the rooms for us (he would not be coming)?

I think he actually has to be traveling with you. But, check with central reservations anyways.
 
I had gotten a code awhile back when they were offering the gift cards where you buy like $395 and you actually get a $500 gc. Anyway, it came in my friends name to my email address. I call and I was able to use it because it came to my email.
FYI, it's worth a try to call.
 

Then you got a new CM that doesnt know the policies of disney OR your friend was listed in your household. Thats why Disney asks for everyones emails and addresses when you make a reservation
 
It doesn't hurt to call and see. What if he is on the reservation but not the one checking in?
 
If youre on the reservation as the lead guest you have to check in. They wont give the room to someone else. Think about security issues if they let people do that

I don't know....I was on hold quite awhile and she had to go to a supervisor and it was approved. Maybe I was just lucky. The other thing I don't get, we also booked the free dining through the disney visa promotion. Not ONCE was I asked for my disney visa.....I wonder why.
 
I had the same thing happen last year.

We had a trip booked for May and I couldn't find our Disney DVD, so I had one sent to my mom. Shortly after that I get an email with a 40% off pin for my mom. :sad2: Our dates were fixed because we were also going to a wedding and to visit family, and the code did not include our dates so I wouldn't have been able to use it anyway. But, I was still annoyed that I've never recieved anything and I order her one DVD and she gets a pin...
 
Two people who were on my res got the 40% code, one in the mail and one via my email. Of course I got nada.
 
I'm always the "lead" person on our reservations and my Husband always checks us in, no problem.

I always say it's worth calling. They send out all the offers/pins because they WANT people to come stay there. If it legitimately comes to your email or address or in your name then it's worth calling to ask.

The news is saying that the 2009 bookings are down (no surprise) even MORE than Disney anticipated, taking the economy into consideration.
 
I doubt they will allow it .I am still trying to use a pincode that came to my address that is in the name of a friend who once travelled to WDW as my guest and she is now deceased( and never ever lived at my address... in fact no one has since I built my house on a farm)Good luck .
 
We (DH, myself, 2 DS's) had booked a pkg with my brother and sil for march and cancelled a few months back. Last week my dh received an email with the 500 gc offer with my brother's name on it. We called and spoke to a CM for an hour and they finally said we could use it for our upcoming trip in May without my brother and sil.

The CM said if we would have given the correct address and email that this would not have happened. But, I remember the day we made the reservations that we gave them my brother's address and email address. He wrote it down on a piece of paper and handed it to DH so he could give the info to the CM that day. Oh well. I guess it really does depend on who you talk to. :confused3

I was the lead guest on my ressies for this past august and my DH got there first so he checked in for us. We didnt have a problem.
 
my pin code came in my dh's name and they let me use it even though he's not coming this trip. i actually called 3 times before i booked to get quotes and nobody gave me any trouble. i dont know if i was just lucky or because we live in the same household. fwiw it spelled our name wrong and was hooked to our old phone #. they did make me give them the old phone # as a means of confirmation
