I've got a squirrel in my house!

This just happened last week to my friend. They tried have a heart traps baited with everything under the sun, nothing worked. After 3 days she was ready to give up when someone suggested rat sticky traps screwed to the floor of the attic. Ok, not the perfect solution but it worked. They caught a clan of squirrels who had a winters catch of walnuts hidden behind a wall.

It looks like leaving the window open with the door closed worked- I went through the room we had it closed off in with a cow bell, and after ringing it all over the room, not rustle. I'm just hoping that now DH believes me when I tell him we need windows in the construction project now!!

I'm glad it worked out for you. Although I realize that squirrels can cause expensive damage and can be dangerous, I'm glad to see that you wanted to get rid of the squirrel in a humane fashion. Of course, your family's safety comes first, however, if there's a humane way to rid yourself of the animal I'd opt for that. Now you can sleep at night and know you didn't inflict unecessary pain on a living creature that just lost its way.
