Loved Vegas when we went 2 years ago.
Strangely, after 7 days there we said that we didn't need to return as thought we'd seen all we wanted to. But the more we thought about it since we came back the more we feel drawn back there. Might have to book another trip

Lucky you off to Vegas! we had a week there last year for our 20th anniversary, really enjoyed it. Highlights were a helicopter trip to the Skywalk at Grand Canyon & Pink Jeep tour to Hoover Dam. So much to see & do, you will have a great time
We honeymooned in Vegas and loved it. Its very similar to Disney, as in the walking, wow its big.I think it took us an hour to walk from the our lift to the street We went up the Stratosphere at dusk, DH did the roller coaster up there too The views are amazing. Have fun Also the hotels really do know how to do an All you can eat buffet
What we did was to buy a good book on Vegas then work our way through every hotel down the strip listing the things in each one that we wanted to see and do. Each hotel has its own attractions and the hotels are HUGE. We stayed at the Venetian and it was beautiful. There is a bus that goes from one end of the strip to the other and is quite cheap. We went to see LOVE the cirque show and thought that it was totally wonderful and you really don't have to be a Beatles fan to appreciate it. As for the Grand Canyon we decided to go to the North rim as it is much higher there then anywhere else. We went by a company called Pink Jeep and they give you breakfast on route plus lunch when you arrive. Its a long journey and a long day but totally worth it, our jaws just feel to the ground when we saw it, one of the most beautiful things I have every seen. Its far less crowded then at the south rim (where that glass bridge is) but IMO far more impressive.
We thought the shopping was nothing like as good as Orlando with the Premium Outlet mall a bit of a let down. Outside the main shopping mall near to the Treasure Island Hotel there is a discount ticket booth for all the shows.
If you need to buy water at a decent price (vegas is as you expect VERY expensive in general) then there are Walgreen's dotted down the strip, we used the one right next door to the Venetian a lot.
Another fan of Vegas here. I visited for the first time in Dec 11 and was amazed at how much I loved it.
There was so much to see and do.
Where are you thinking of staying? We stayed at the Bellagio in a room overlooking the fountains - we sat in the room and watched them as the music was played in the room on the TV.
My advice is to stay mid strip if you can as then its easier to get to either end
